maybe the surgical lights scene is trying to tell us that wooly survived whatever amanda did to him. because, after all, the last place we saw him was on a surgical table under those same lights
Most likely yeah, as he wasn't mentioned at all in the demo, definitely building up to something. Plus they wouldn't just get rid of his character forever like that Probably will be a scene in the full game of him waking up or smth in the surgical table. 36:50
The breakdown Amanda has over the possum taking her coins is so heartbreaking. She really is just a kid. I love horror games that lean into reminding you of the fact these dead kids were KIDS. We’ve grown so used to the meme “haha dead kids”, so having games and media that remind us “no these are DEAD KIDS and all that entails” is really chilling and heartbreaking. Love it.
the fact she’s aware of her being dead/trapped in the TV, and is also getting messed with by the possum and supposedly also has Hamlin keeping an eye on her is even more horrific hopefully there’s a way to free her from the tapes, and have her rest in peace, because she genuinely deserves better (same for Wooly, unless his soul just doesn’t exist anymore)
Mathew Patrick, renowned puzzle solver, known throughout the world for his problem-solving skills, is foiled by the joke ‘Pue Birdie’ on a book talking abt a teenager😂😂
Her awareness of being Rebecca seems to be more than how she was early in the first game. She's internalized and accepted that she's died and is now trapped. Now that Wooly isn't there to deflect, she's likely been ruminating on these things about herself a lot...
26:46 Something i noticed watching UniqueGeese stream this: Mr. Rooster is most likely a metaphor for her father. In the first game, if you type in Amanda's fathers name to name the rooster, she says something spooky (obviously), because the rooster is the "daddy" chicken. When Amanda sells Mr. Rooster in this game, it may seem ridiculous that she just tosses him up and money falls down, but this could be her father going to heaven after he died and Hamlin getting paid for it by having him out of the picture.
I also thought that it was a sign of Rebecca still being inside of Amanda. Like you said with the rooster and Sam has a unique response by Amanda, in game 2 she says “someone gave this to me when I was feeling bad and scared and it made me laugh”. This to me feels like something a father figure like Sam would do to comfort a loved one in this case Rebecca/Amanda. The fact she says this to me seems like Rebecca is still left in there fighting and that she needs saving. “I hope he can make someone else laugh” to me is further proof that Rebecca is still out there coz Rebecca was meant to be a ray of positive sunlight.
Ash left out the biggest creep factor on Mexico's Isle of Dead Dolls: a number of spiders have taken up residence, living in and around the dolls strung up around the island. Given his immense fear of spiders (see the GTLive "Gummy vs. Real" episode), this is now the most cursed location.
@@marshmallowpuffin4669 when they were trying to figure out which one was the isle of dolls I was like “dude its Mexico don’t you watch your ghost shows?”
I’m honestly surprised they never heard of it, maybe it’s cause I’m Mexican but I thought it was also well known in America that this island exists esp if youre into the creepy part of the interment
OOo' could that also be attached to the spider that jumped from the couch? Also I never heard of the Isle of Dead Dolls lol, maybe it is because I have no cultural knowledge
The "if you can find him" about Wooly makes me think that he will be in the game, but hidden behind some major secret. Sure, Wooly could be dead and gone, but that feels too easy. I think Wooly still has a role to play in this story and he will be important for the true ending.
And remember last time we saw Woolley he was under the surgery light that was showed at the beginning of the new tape. So it makes me think that what we saw was Woolley waking up and seeing the surgery light and that he’s alive
@@BeeweverI thought two go over the eyes too? Or was that a different religion that did that… or maybe it was three? One under the tongue, two on the eyes?
@@lemmixyt it was usually in their mouths in Greek culture, Roman culture would do the mouth or over the eyes. The coins over the eyes were most often just to keep them closed until burial.
38:05 I think it's so interesting that now that Rebecca seems to have some awareness of herself as Amanda, the tapes are actively rewriting her as that happens. Shifting from "all the places I could have gone" to "all the places we can go" because it fits the narrative of the episode better
I like how the window is very obviously fake because her shadow gets cast on it. Also, selling the Rooster seems to be a reference to how you can call the Rooster in the first game Samuel to get a reaction. Rebecca may have been manipulated into giving up Samuel in return for escaping her torment?
I also thought that it was a sign of Rebecca still being inside of Amanda. Like you said with the rooster and Sam has a unique response by Amanda, in game 2 she says “someone gave this to me when I was feeling bad and scared and it made me laugh”. This to me feels like something a father figure like Sam would do to comfort a loved one in this case Rebecca/Amanda. 1:02:53 that is almost on-point. let me explain this to the best of my knowledge: this is NOT a cipher or youtube link, its a bug and im not sure why it happens. after decompiling the game, you can find a .txt file named "V_e1_s9c". this is used for the closed captions in this scene. ash was correct, this means episode 1, scene 9c, but the "_8" on the other hand is supposed to tell the scene's eight-line dialogue. this error only happens in this chain of events because the "c" in "s9c" represents when you protect amanda from the opossum, its actually not connected to sam at all. it displays the text "V_e1_s9c_8" because something (i dont what) is preventing it from displaying the normal dialogue, so it just displays the subtitle information instead. tldr: not a hidden message, specific subtitle file for the scene is broken and just resorts to using the file name. V_e1_s9c.txt 1 00:00:07,083 --> 00:00:10,083 Amanda: Wow, who the heck was that guy?! 2 00:00:10,375 --> 00:00:13,375 Amanda: He was going to take my coins! 3 00:00:14,875 --> 00:00:17,458 Amanda: Good, all four are still there. 4 00:00:17,833 --> 00:00:21,875 Amanda: Let’s count how many we need to pay for the ticket to London. 5 00:00:22,166 --> 00:00:25,958 Amanda: One, two, three, four! 6 00:00:27,916 --> 00:00:30,916 Amanda: Oh, hey, it's time to catch my train! 7 00:00:47,916 --> 00:00:49,958 Amanda: This is fun, I guess, 8 00:00:49,958 --> 00:00:52,750 but I wish I really could go see the world.
So, it should be "but I wish I really could go see the world."... I don't think it's not a bug. Maybe the dev is just showing we'll need to use this in the full game for important stuff.
34:44 I gotta say, the authors of that article seem really intent on making this man out to be crazy. I could see myself being so affected by finding the body of a girl that I'd hang up her doll in honor of her, especially if I'm a retired unmarried old person with nothing else to do. Then because the experience impacted you so much, it's still on your mind and you end up thinking "That poor girl was taken far too soon. She deserves at least another doll after all the life experiences that were taken from her." Not that big of a stretch from there to get a bit carried away, given enough idle time.
There was also the time his nephew visited him when he was 80, at which point he sang passionately and told his nephew about how mermaids were calling to him. It's possible that that was supposed to be a metaphor or a bit of poetry, or it was from an unrelated mental illness - but it definitely could go either way.
I think the references to rivers in this is crazy. Between the Pied Piper of Hamlin drowning the children, the island of the dolls, and the River Styx references with the coins.
okay so I was wondering what her response would be to different answers when she asked, "if you could visit anyone in the world who would you go see?" and here is the responses I got: Rebecca: "do you really think you could do that?" (not in a hopeful way, more cold and sinister, staring directly at camera a red hue fades in but then it glitches away and she shakes her head to "snap out of it") Kate: "I wish I could still visit her..." (looking down and sad/hopeless) butcher: "No! why are you being so mean to me?!" (backed away and scared, might've triggered fight or flight or something, p.s it broke my heart when she said that) librarian: normal response Amanda: same as Rebecca sam: 38:00 wooly: 56:48 I'm confused and curious on what might've made her act terrified of the butcher because we never directly see anything happen just her being disgusted in a short clip. maybe it could just be the fact that she couldn't stop from going into the butchers happening? idk but if someone has a theory/answer let me know please
I'm pretty sure something happened at the butcher's and that response reinforces that. Still not sure how it would fit in... unless she felt it was a 'butcher' that caused her to be trapped in the tapes when in actuality, it was a doctor. It would also tie in the scene with her and Wooly on the operating table in the doctor's office.
@@Novsev9069in the first game tho, when we get stuck going to the same store over and over again, I’m pretty sure the store was the butchery so it might’ve triggered ptsd from the episode
@@Novsev9069 right? I mean sure she was scared in one clip I’m not sure when in the last game where it glitches to a butchers shop and she looks like she’s going to throw up but nothing really else indicates that kind of fear
When Amanda asks who you'd like to go see, I'm super curious if any of the book borrower kids' names fit in those blanks. That would help tie in the whole library setting from the beginning.
I can't get the thought of what if it's "He tried to bind me" out of my head, instead of Amanda's dad trying to find her it's someone trying to bind Amanda to the tapes
I think Wooly was a Hamlin employee/follower there to stop her from telling us what's going on. In the first game, he always cut Amanda off and held her back from dark subjects. On the surface it looks like he's trying to make Amanda happy, but he stops her from telling us she's rotting, he talks to us behind her back, and she's always angry at him. Away from him, she seems so much happier and friendlier. She doesn't get angry as quickly and she's acting like an actually friendly kid. These creatures, I think, are the demon lords they made her summon. Now that Wooly's gone nothing is keeping her in check. They're trying to stop her from escaping
@@violetrose674 This is actually really interesting cause they sort of set Wooly up to be the good guy trying desperately to survive with this literal demon girl and because of all the horrible stuff she does to him, but what if Amanda really is technically the good guy here and we shouldn't trust Wooly at all?
@@elizabethlacy8869Yes, that's what I'm thinking! In the first game he even asks, "Do you trust me?" It's so easy to place him as the kindhearted companion, but seeing what Amanda's like once he's gone is definitely an eye-opener for me. Like when we got an answer wrong in the first game, Amanda would get genuinely angry and hysterical. Here, she's more exasperated and playful if anything. She moves around more freely and her games don't have any horrific twists to them. She's just being a kid. I could be scoping things too early, but I really think that without Wooly, Amanda feels more at ease. Not to say that I think Wooly is 100% bad. He might be a misguided and manipulated soul in all of this too. But I think Amanda's actions towards him in the first game might be a little more justified than we were led to believe
in 21:20 theres a blink and miss moment. "created by sam colton" appears on the tape in a light text. Possibly implying that this tape was made by sam to expose hamlin as he is portrayed as a theif possum.
I'm actually quite surprised to see so little youtubers already know about 'Isle Of The Dead Dolls' prior to this game. I remember being really interested in it when I was a kid.
I’m pretty sure the author of the “Am the Person, the are story” book is Notan Ant. Given the cover art, I’m guessing it’s about a colony of ants pretending to be a person. The joke is simply that the ant who wrote it doesn’t know English very well. But hey, that’s just a theory, a LITERATURE Theory! Thanks for reading!
Some secret responses she says are for Kate: I wish I could still visit her… Sam: wait? that’s… Amanda, Rebecca or you: do you really think you could do that? Wooly: yeah! If you can find him Butcher: No! Why are you being so mean to me
I watched Jakeneutron's stream before this (creator of the "Don't Listen" fan song), and he typed out 'you' which gave the same answer for the Amanda/Rebecca input
"He tried to find me" could also mean the demon, the "man in the headphones". That was my first thought. Or the studio president, or whoever it was making Amanda read the summoning words.
@weotu Yeah, I thought, "He tried to bind me," would also work. We're assuming it's Amanda giving us this message, but what if it's not? Or, if it is Amanda, maybe it indicates that she wants to escape, not be put to rest.
@@alteregoivy I think, if it is bind, that it could be from either the demon or Rebecca, seeing as they would be the ones bound together in these tapes. Can't wait for more demos/the full game to learn more!
I wanted to see them react to the "I love to daydream about all the places I could have g- think about all the places we can go!" line so bad but every time Amanda says it they were distracted 😭first laughing at the tom thing, and then reacting to the sam/wooly responses!
@@Heather_no_numbers Watching more of the video, you’re totally right, RIP Wooly. Though, I guess he is an AI entity, so perhaps it isn’t completely over for him!
If you say you want to visit him, she says "if you can find him~" So there may be a chance he's alive... or she may just mean she hid his "body" somewhere idk It's coming off as open ended to me...
The combination of Matt calling a manga an anime, and both Matt and Ash missing Pue Birdie (Puberty), was both the highest and lowest part of my day. xD
I’m not sure if someone else has said this yet but the fact that we can only sell Mr. Rooster for coins and not any of the other toys made me think about the other game where in the farm, if you answer Amanda’s question about what you call a daddy chicken with Sam, she starts to ask us questions about how we knew that. Also, this is a bit of a stretch but also when Mr. Rooster floats in the sky could represent Amanda’s dad going to heaven…? I’m not really sure but this is what I first thought but I might be totally wrong and just looking wayyy to much into it 😅
8:15 You are Riley. Your dear, departed Aunt Kate (Park) was the local public librarian, who left you her house (along with an attic stuffed with notes, home-recorded _Amanda the Adventurer_ tapes, and Hamelin-branded toys) in the first game. Kate was a big promoter of the show back before Hamelin Entertainment took over and everything started going weird. She was also a bit of an amateur sleuth and apparently something of a polymath, and when children started disappearing in connection with the show (along with the show's creator Sam, a dear friend), she and another friend (an actual private eye referred to only once by their initials in the first game) took it upon themselves to open their own investigation. In Aunt Kate's... de facto Last Will and Testament, which opens the first game, she makes a point to insist that she _never_ would've involved _you_ in the investigation if she weren't _sure_ she was going to die sometime shortly after she sent the letter.
@@GhostvertigoThat letter was left for a Margret, but that doesn't mean we're playing as Margret. Margret would have known the code and we don't. We had to look for it and figure it out. It's possible we're still Riley and we're messing around in the library when we're not supposed to be
@@violetrose674 That is possible, but then then how'd did we get in the library after hours break in? that last game told us we were Riley by a note in the last one I think its doing the same here, although that doesn't mean we won't be playing as Riley in the full game. Although I don't think we know who we were playing as in the first couple of demos for game 1. Remember the room with all the writing on the walls who was that lol
There are a lot of references to the number 5, 5 books, 5 lights, 5 pages, 5 coins. It might be just hinting at the 5 lights on the surgical light (idea based off of @pinkerhero 's discovery) or it might have a reference to something in the future. I like how the dev knows exactly how to get us interested in a game just from the demo. Already the creepiness in the intro and in sections of the tape but also giving answers about wooly. Also stating that Amanda's dad might be alive or that she still remembers him.
33:21 “it’s like graveyard girl retired from youtube and found her own island in mexico.” MAT YOU MEAN THE ONE AND ONLY grav3yardgirl!?!?!? I LOVE BUNNY SFMMMM 😭💖
Oooh the dead dolls island is definitely a place here in Mexico, an old man used to collect ragged and old dolls, the trees are filled with creepy dolls all over the place. Weird energy.
35:17 so this guy isn’t actually telling you the full truth there’s quite a bit he is embellishing with his own biases on topics, I’ll admit the islands “”guardian”” wasn’t of sound mind but he didn’t go dumpster diving for dolls as the old man almost never left the island (kinda hard to find dolls in the trash when your the only one living on the island and the next nearest human is miles away by boat) dolls kept on washing up there then people started coming to see the place bringing more dolls with them, the ones that are disfigured or just heads are ones people brought with them to make the place worse after the guy died about 15 years ago or they just rotted as they are outside in the Mexico heat and weather, bits fall off, insects live in them all adding to the creeps. And that not even getting to the supernatural stuff that’s meant to go on, stuff like dolls moving when there not watched or dolls that don’t have batteries talking, some have had all there electricals ripped out and they still somehow talk.
The shadow stopping when her hand goes away is likely an animation error. Since most animators don’t animate out of frame, her hand stops moving once it’s taken away to count the coins, and it’s likely that the creator didn’t take into account of the appearance of the shadow in that specific angle showing how it stopped.
@Expired.WM.Bag767 When she is holding out the coins. One shadow is normal but then there's another that looks like a claw instead of a hand. If you pause the video you'll be able to look for it. It's a bit quick to catch it without pausing
I also thought that it was a sign of Rebecca still being inside of Amanda. Like you said with the rooster and Sam has a unique response by Amanda, in game 2 she says “someone gave this to me when I was feeling bad and scared and it made me laugh”. Amanda's reaction when you said you wanted to visit Wooly was so much fun. she knows what happened to him, an she's not gonna tell us. a lot of her lines feel really alive. the writing and acting for this game are amazing.
Mat: I can figure out the price of diamond armor from Minecraft, figure out the lore of any game, and know the size of Luigi’s… junk, from just one image! Also Mat: By puberty, Pue-ey? I don’t know
This might be odd, but as a mexican, I felt pride on our leyends and scary locations to be in international games. I've been on the tour where you see the island, and trust me, the air feels tense, you truly feel like a doll will look at you any minute 32:30
The island of the dead dolls story act is actually kinda sweet in a twisted way... it feels nice, that these people were remembered. Maybe parts weren't real and maybe Barrera was ill but it's about care for fellow man, no? but i might be seeing this a different way because dolls just aren't creepy to me.
This does raise one interesting question I haven't seen anyone notice: Wooly is apparently K PL's mascot. We can assume the "PL" is Public Library... So Wooly is a library mascot originally? Or was he just taken from Amanda and used by the Library? I imagine Hamlen would have something to say about that...
@@Kjf365it’s rage bait, if they can get you to engage with them the algorithm notices and might overlook them as bots. Honestly UA-cam should create educational shorts on how to combat bot accounts and how their algorithm works.
23:40 Not an important detail, but the last location that Mat and Ash couldn't figure out might be the Winter Palace in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The spikes in the image might be representations of the architectural sculptures that are littered on top of the palace roof, while the drawing out in front could be the equestrian figure there. Otherwise, I would guess the Vittoriano in Rome as it also has some roof details and has an equestrian figure out in the front, but that feels more like a stretch to me because it has this massive staircase around the statue in the front. If it's not one of those locations I'm pretty sure it's some sort of European (probably British or French inspired) palace/villa with two spires or large architectural sculptures with an equestrian figure in the front, probably built in a romantic or baroque style, with (neo)classical elements. I don't know if this is right but I hope this was an interesting read for someone.
25:21 as someone who loves learning about haunted places, yes there is an isle of dead dolls in Mexico! It's a popular haunt location! It's super creepy and weirds me out. But definitely a real place! edit: I know they show what it the isle is but I just thought it was cool the game mentioned it 😭
Matpat maybe the meaning of V_e1_s9c_8 is the id of a file containing text subtitles that amanda said, at the end of the episode amanda should have said "but I wish I really could go see the world." but at that moment her voice sounded like it was corrupt and could not be heard clearly so it displayed the id of the text subtitle. Oh and also try to press the T button on the keyboard while in the main menu when you just opened the demo game, it says it can teleport but don't know what the teleport function is because it just teleports randomly. And also during the amanda session asking where the place we want to visit and told to answer, try typing the word amanda or wooly or butcher to see the expression from amanda.
55:46 I don’t know if this is more out there but it could also be ‘bind me’ which could be referring to whoever is behind the Amanda project attempting to bind the girl’s consciousness to the tapes and that she is telling us that was unsuccessful , which would also match with the deteriorating imagery compared to the last game (especially that of which we assume is memories or reality for her physical body like the medical lighting). All good if this is just me looking too hard but I just thought it would be a cool thought.
Honestly so impressed by how matpats able to remember plot details like in the intro, but maybe i shouldn't be surprised ive seen how he has the fnaf lore downloaded into his memory!
57:25 Unless she doesn't know that Wooly was Sam? Maybe not, because then why the "He tried to find me," but it is possible that she did something to Wooly without knowing it was her dad trapped in the same universe as her, and she'll be heartbroken later finding out. I can see a showrunner telling AI Amanda that her dad is gone, but actually he's trapped as Wooly, and then when Amanda finds out she'll be filled with grief over her dad being gone beacuse of her.
The "I'll always be your baby" book you thought of is actually "Love You Forever". I receieved that book when I was very young and when my neice was born, I bought a copy for her because it meant so much to me. Even though I didn't read it all the time or anything it still stuck with me as a parent always being there for their child no matter how old they get until the parent grew old and sick, the child returns to sing the song his mother sang him all those years. It's a very simple book, but I love it.
Like mat did for Sam and woolly, if you type Rebecca (the name of the actor for Amanda), she says “do you really think you could do that”. This almost perfectly proves his old theory from the first game
32:47 The island of the dolls is a very haunted area in Mexico. It’s really popular among paranormal investigators, like Zak and the Ghost Adventures Crew who went to investigate the area once. Barrera is said to have either come across the body of a young girl floating in the canals or failed to save her from drowning. The next day, Barrera found a doll drifting down the canal; believing it belonged to the girl, he hung the doll from a tree in her memory and as a talisman to ward off evil spirits. It is sometimes claimed that Barrera found a second doll in the canal the next day. It is speculated that after her death the young girl's spirit haunted the island, and to appease her Barrera began scouring the trash and trading produce from his garden in exchange for more dolls. Evidence of the girl's existence has yet to be reported. In 2001, Barrera's nephew came to the island to help his uncle. As they fished in the canal, Barrera, then 80, sang passionately, claiming that mermaids in the water were calling for him. The nephew left briefly, and upon his return found Barrera lifeless, face down in the canal, in the same spot where the girl was said to have drowned. Since the island became open to the public, there have been reports of the dolls moving their heads, arms, and opening their eyes. Visitors also claim to have heard the dolls whispering to each other. Visitors occasionally place offerings around the dolls in exchange for miracles and blessings. Some change the dolls's clothes and maintain the island as a form of worship. You can find Zak and the GAC’s investigation on the Island on Discovery+! It’s REALLY good!
I just saw the title of the playthrough section after he found the Pue Berty book "Chat no one explain Pue Berty to them" Looks like it is a bit late for that seeing that most of the comments are doing just that.
33:05 when Matt is looking at all the pictures from the Island of Dolls, I couldn't stop remembering the Ghost Adventures episode where it was haunted af.
Awe, that was sweet to mention *Grav3yardGirl.* I know Bunny has the “BananaPeppers” channel now, so she’s technically not 100% retired, but I’m sure she’d be flattered that you thought of her when looking at such an immense collection of creepy dolls. 🖤 I do miss her usual* uploads and I hope she’s doing well. 😊🐊💞
29:50 The only thing I would add to Ash´s explanation is that the dolls alledgelly fend of evil spirits and/or the Devil (depending on the version you find). 30:41 It´s interesting that after mentioning the island of the dead dolls or "La isla de las muñecas" in spanish she mentions a special "toy" hidden in the woods maybe a doll perhaps? 32:57 It´s not a massive art proyect is something that the man living there has been doing for decades, although I don´t know if he still alive, the sign that says "contenido maldito" in english is cursed content, referring to the dolls hanged on the trees, as far as I know those are the ones that contain evil spirits that have been trapped in them. This is one of the many folktales or "Leyendas" that we have here on Mexico, even though the most known ones are "La llorona" or "El chupacabras" the ones that aren´t known worldwide are the creepiest ones. (edit): I had to change what I wrote because I didn´t saw that they looked it up on google.
Just came to see if anyone had answered this one for him. No one at my thrift store seems to understand why these make me happy when they come through...
Fun fact: when amanda asks who you want to see Margaret(the name of us in the game) leaves one extra space in the blanks while Rebecca leaves 2 and Amanda leaves 3 empty spaces.if we find out Margaret’s last name we can youse her last initial to fill in the last space when if typing Margaret.(I don’t know if this helps but it’s something I checked real fast.) :D (hope this helps)
I don't know if anyone told you, or if you figured it out (I didn't see you see it) but after you type in who you would visit, she says "I love to daydream about all the places i could have gone" but it glitches and then she says "think about all the places we can go!" That means that Rebecca didn't go to all the places she wanted to.
Around 56:23 Matt mentioned "it's activating her" and that kinda reminds me of how it feels to watch tv as a kid. Anyone else get the feeling as a kid your shows or radio broadcasts were specially starting up for you? I'm not sure how to put it, but cic. 10 years old I was convinced that my favorite characters were actors that would start performing once the broadcast started, and a lot of TV shows kinda played on that "places everyone" mentality (like the Garfield show). Maybe that's how Amanda's influence works, she becomes active only when the tapes are played, kinda like a computer? Or of course, it's possibly just a flashback she had while going through the process of becoming Amanda the Adventurer.
ASH YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA HOW LOUD I SCREECHED WHEN MAT WAS TRYING TO READ THAT BOOK AND HE PAUSED LIKE "I was a teenage..." AND YOU JUST IMMEDIATELY GO "Dirtbag baby ♪" IDK WHY BUT I LOVE THAT SONG SO MUCH 14:27
I can finally tell my 8th grade teacher’s joke and it be relevant! 😂 Did you that The Appalachian region is the only area to have Himalayan Opossums? Him-a-layin in the middle of the road! 🤣🤣
the thing I like most about this game so far is the fact that Amanda's character displays the fact that she is a child more clearer like how she throws a tantrum (Like a child) when she loses her coin.
1:05:43 ok after a while of digging I finally found out what the code is. Ash was right with the episodes and scenes sort of. I got this half from help on a Reddit post but also on my own, but when you translate to code into the scene of the episode (tape) it goes to when she says “but I wish I really could go see the world.” So there you have it.
Mat and Ash not getting “Pue Berty” was the best thing I've seen today💀

The breakdown Amanda has over the possum taking her coins is so heartbreaking. She really is just a kid. I love horror games that lean into reminding you of the fact these dead kids were KIDS. We’ve grown so used to the meme “haha dead kids”, so having games and media that remind us “no these are DEAD KIDS and all that entails” is really chilling and heartbreaking. Love it.
the fact she’s aware of her being dead/trapped in the TV, and is also getting messed with by the possum and supposedly also has Hamlin keeping an eye on her is even more horrific
hopefully there’s a way to free her from the tapes, and have her rest in peace, because she genuinely deserves better (same for Wooly, unless his soul just doesn’t exist anymore)

22:08 neat little detail here. she says “places i could have-“ then she corrects herself and says “places we can go!”
I noticed that too! He was too busy laughing to notice.
Yeah and the daydream and think
Her awareness of being Rebecca seems to be more than how she was early in the first game. She's internalized and accepted that she's died and is now trapped. Now that Wooly isn't there to deflect, she's likely been ruminating on these things about herself a lot...
Yeah, I noticed that and thought it was very interesting. I was scrolling through comments to see if anyone else had pointed that out.
This is my favorite game. The lore really gets me in my emotions

I remember watching the BuzzFeed unsolved episode about it and them finding out that the location is sprawling with spiders.

So it makes me think that what we saw was Woolley waking up and seeing the surgery light and that he’s alive
wooly is kinda the best char, my fav ngl, so it would be kinda sad if he wont appear again
He definitely is still significant sense we just learned he is the mascot of the library that Kate worked at
Realizing the Possum is likely trying to help Amanda pass on, thus why it left her with two coins for the River Styx.

MatPat taking 1 hour to play a 15 minute demo is classic GTLive
well technically he took about 34 minutes to complete the demo, and the rest of the time to get all the secrets.
I’m surprised it didn’t take longer

So, it should be "but I wish I really could go see the world."... I don't think it's not a bug. Maybe the dev is just showing we'll need to use this in the full game for important stuff.
Thank you! I may or may not have spent half an hour trying to decode it.
Replying to this comment to get it higher.
this should honestly be pinned.
you’re so smart for this because i never would have even considered it just being a bug
She deserves at least another doll after all the life experiences that were taken from her." Not that big of a stretch from there to get a bit carried away, given enough idle time.
i agree, and the current of the water would probably carry a body to the same place every time
There was also the time his nephew visited him when he was 80, at which point he sang passionately and told his nephew about how mermaids were calling to him.
I love that the chapter says "chat no one explain Pue Berty to them."
okay so I was wondering what her response would be to different answers when she asked, "if you could visit anyone in the world who would you go see?" and here is the responses I got:
Rebecca: "do you really think you could do that?" (not in a hopeful way, more cold and sinister, staring directly at camera a red hue fades in but then it glitches away and she shakes her head to "snap out of it")
Kate: "I wish I could still visit her..." (looking down and sad/hopeless)
butcher: "No! why are you being so mean to me?!" (backed away and scared, might've triggered fight or flight or something, p.s it broke my heart when she said that)
librarian: normal response
Amanda: same as Rebecca
sam: 38:00
wooly: 56:48
I'm confused and curious on what might've made her act terrified of the butcher because we never directly see anything happen just her being disgusted in a short clip. maybe it could just be the fact that she couldn't stop from going into the butchers happening? idk but if someone has a theory/answer let me know please
I think the butcher might be the doctor operating on her and removing her consciousness to be put into “Amanda”.
That’s weird that she doesn’t like the butcher all of a sudden because she was fine with him in the other game

I thought that same thing!
I wonder if/hope there'll be an additional code in the finished game that clearly defines F or B🤞

Kate: I wish I could still visit her…
Sam: wait? that’s…

Butcher: No!
I was thinking, 'what if it's a B, not an F??'
@weotu Yeah, I thought, "He tried to bind me," would also work. We're assuming it's Amanda giving us this message, but what if it's not? Or, if it is Amanda, maybe it indicates that she wants to escape, not be put to rest.

Is it confirmed that we’re still playing as Riley in the sequel?
We we're playing as Riley for the first game, but for this demo it's not Riley as the first note in this demo lists your name

Her hands have too shadows though, the normal one and the entity hand

He already tried “Wooly.”
he can also try to type in “kate” as in aunt kate
55:46 I don’t know if this is more out there but it could also be ‘bind me’ which could be referring to whoever is behind the Amanda project attempting to bind the girl’s consciousness to the tapes and that she is telling us that was unsuccessful , which would also match with the deteriorating imagery compared to the last game (especially that of which we assume is memories or reality for her physical body like the medical lighting). All good if this is just me looking too hard but I just thought it would be a cool thought.
I was going to explain the "Pue birdie" but I'm under strict instructions not too, however I believe I can say that 18:10 "Notan Ant" is "Not An Ant"
Honestly so impressed by how matpats able to remember plot details like in the intro, but maybe i shouldn't be surprised ive seen how he has the fnaf lore downloaded into his memory!
38:05 she says she daydreams about the places she could have gone but then it cuts and she says can go
57:25 Unless she doesn't know that Wooly was Sam? Maybe not, because then why the "He tried to find me," but it is possible that she did something to Wooly without knowing it was her dad trapped in the same universe as her, and she'll be heartbroken later finding out.
I can see a showrunner telling AI Amanda that her dad is gone, but actually he's trapped as Wooly, and then when Amanda finds out she'll be filled with grief over her dad being gone beacuse of her.
Wooly isn't sam
The couch possum is prompting sooooo many questions.
Not to mention that it's also shown in one of the scenes in the trailer at the end of the demo.
What is its significance?
Aren't possums related to death and decay? I don't know much about them, but I remember that being a thing
@@Dreagon-yc3zq nop, just bad smells
What if, after Wooly was taken out, Hameln must've tried to replace him with something that would keep Amanda in line?
Just a thought I had.
Could have something to do with playing possum. Pretending to be dead.
Matt missing the "puberty" pun absolutely killed me
This man can Print Screen a specific frame in a live footage first try, but doesn't know what puberty is
24:30 😱 "I have 5 coins and only 3 fingers."
The voice actor in this sounds like they had an incredible time with this, it’s so compelling
I’m glad even after Matt retired he still does GTLive I tapped on the video so quick
Not for much longer tho 😢
@@shereekathleenn When is he stopping GTLive? :(
@@TheJStaleI think sometime near the end of summer 😢
@@lightwolf6111where did you hear he’s stopping gt live? i haven’t heard anything about it
@@ThatOneGuy-qw1xx I think I remember that somewhere but if he is still going to be on GTLive then it would be great
I just saw the title of the playthrough section after he found the Pue Berty book "Chat no one explain Pue Berty to them"
Looks like it is a bit late for that seeing that most of the comments are doing just that.
Litteraly 😂
33:05 when Matt is looking at all the pictures from the Island of Dolls, I couldn't stop remembering the Ghost Adventures episode where it was haunted af.
Awe, that was sweet to mention *Grav3yardGirl.*
I know Bunny has the “BananaPeppers” channel now, so she’s technically not 100% retired, but I’m sure she’d be flattered that you thought of her when looking at such an immense collection of creepy dolls. 🖤
I do miss her usual* uploads and I hope she’s doing well.
36:15 THE MR MEN! I remember those guys,it's been years. My swim towel is actually Mr.Tickles
I thought we were playing as Riley?
ASH YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA HOW LOUD I SCREECHED WHEN MAT WAS TRYING TO READ THAT BOOK AND HE PAUSED LIKE "I was a teenage..." AND YOU JUST IMMEDIATELY GO "Dirtbag baby ♪" IDK WHY BUT I LOVE THAT SONG SO MUCH 14:27
I thought i was the only one!!!! The way I immediately sat up to attention was wild
@@theashk.d.5672 YESSSSS!!
Matpat: connecting mirror details and figuring out riddles on the daily.
Also matpat : I don’t get the pun on pue berty🤷♀️
As SOON as I saw unique geese play this I knew this would be the next gtlive. Hype!
i've noticed that on 48:42 after Amanda giggles there is a flash of a creepy face.
I can finally tell my 8th grade teacher’s joke and it be relevant! 😂
Did you that The Appalachian region is the only area to have Himalayan Opossums?
Him-a-layin in the middle of the road! 🤣🤣
that was so bad its good..have a cookie🍪🍪
22:40 that shadow is not shadowing
Really shows you its just the ceilinglamp getting brighter
“A YELLOW BUNNY WITH PURPLE SUSPENDER?!” Mat I think you need to get your eyes checked cuz that’s most definitely not purple lol
Lol
It looks very indigo from my point of view?
He’s traumatized
its pink actualy mat
It kinda looks red to me
MatPat's initial reaction to the Island of Dead Dolls is everything
the thing I like most about this game so far is the fact that Amanda's character displays the fact that she is a child more clearer like how she throws a tantrum (Like a child) when she loses her coin.
