Yeah victor from the young and the restless is a complete rip off of Alan Spaulding. Plus both GL and ATWT were cbs superior soaps and will always be. Beverley will always be remembered as both the great Iris and Alexandra
This must have been very shortly after Pam Long returned for her second headwriting stint. And I had forgotten how much I liked Nicolette Goulet as Meredith.
You can always recognize Pam Long's writing. It had that home-spun feel to it. I vaguely remember the H.B. / Alexandra "thing." ...or Reva's mom being added to the mix.
In an interview years later, Long said that Johnny's cancer story was going to lead to a spiritual journey storyline unlike anything ever done on daytime before. But the writers' strike derailed it and it couldn't be salvaged after the strike was over.
For some reason that I dont recall roxy went absolutely nuts on guiding light. Just like nicole went absolutely nuts on another world. I know what made nicole go crazy. But why exactly did roxy go absolutely crazy. Maybe a longtime GL. Fan can refresh my memory. She was never seen or heard or even mention again. Its confusing when new writers on these shows seem 2 forget about past charecters. 4 some reason they are never seen or heard from again or even mention ever again. Reva never talked about her sister roxy again . And over on another world donna hardly mention nicole again but still the writers of both AW and. GL. As well as ATWT. Were always on top of there a game yes I didnt always agree with there ideas and decisions but compare 2 the poorly written 4 shows left . Those 3 shows were magic.
Roxie being Johnny's caregiver took its toll on her mental health. She left town and was never heard from again. It's odd, considering she was Reva's sister. They brought on Cassie Layne to fill that void, years later.
The real alan spaulding that stupid victor newman from the young and the stupid is a complete rip off . Sorry eric Braden but you just cant compare. Guiding light and as the world turns. Were far better shows than the one that you star in both restless and bold and beautiful are weak poorly written shows hope they dont last 2 much longer.
