that poor woman that got trampled. i'll never forget being in a court house when a bomb threat was called in and the people all were running around panicking and this one lady in a wheelchair was left to fend for herself. i took her and told her i wont leave you and i'll get you help to get out. i went off into the judge's chambers and grabbed a sheriff who had ran back there and said help me get this lady out. and he did find a back staircase that could be used to wheel her down backwards. no one considers how to tell people with disabilities how to egress safely either.

They act like the place was breaking the law not having sprinklers. There WAS no law at the time. The fact is that this was a mafia hit on the owner for refusing to sell the club. Two hostesses heard two mob guys threatening the owner the morning of the fire. One girl told her mother after the fire and her mother was horrified and told her to say nothing, because the mob would come after her. The most revealing sign it was arson is that the place burned down on Saturday night. MONDAY MORNING the place was bulldozed BY ORDER OF DEMOCRAT GOVERNOR Julian Carroll. Before any real investigation could be made. Most of what the public heard was simply made up. Numerous employees laughed at the figures of 3000, 4000 people being in the club. They said even if they had wanted to put that many people in there, they wouldn't have fit.
Kentucky Governor Julian Carroll , like all Democrats, was in bed with the unions, and the unions and the mob went hand in hand. The coroner , to many investigators' shock, didn't perform one single solitary autopsy on any victim. Even after multiple coroners and pathologists from surroundng countis volunteered to help....The theory is that they didn't want the accelerants used in the fire showing up in the victims lungs. Numerous witnesses saw strangers in the bar that morning, two pretending to be air conditioning workmen, working up in the ceiling in the zebra room. When asked what they were doing they did they were working on the ductwork. There was no ductwork there. After the fire when these workmen were mentioned to the owner, he said he never called for air conditioning repairmen. Many witnesses were bullied into silence by the police when they kept bringing up these strangers and their activities. What actually happened was that the fire was started by a slow and low burning igniition device that would smoulder for hours, and then erupt, and would spread almost instantly from the odorless accelerant rubbed onto the walls.
Other witnesses saw strangers they thought were hired maids, scrubbing the walls from the zebra room, down the stairwell walls, and into the dining room. When asked what they were doing they said, "spot cleaning". A 21 year fire captain at the club that night saw the backdraft from the zebra room and saw the flames racing down the stairs and into the dining room, following the path the women had been scrubbing. He said it was very obvious that there was accelerant on the walls. Probably most people, after having these things dismissed by the police kept silent out of fear of the mob. One hostess kept raising hell about it and started getting threatening calls in the night and decided to be silent after that.
People only started opening up about it a few years back when an author, with a busboy who was there that night, began compiling witness statements and evidence from back then. It was arson, covered up by the governor and the State Police, and other officials. Most think the government officials and police cooperated in the cover up out of fear of the mob. Governor Carroll's security detail increased noticeably afterwards. So the Mob got away with one of the greatest mass murders in American history. And the mob made sure the bar owner was blamed, sued , and pretty much publicly crucified over it. Tragic all around.

@@sloppyg9185 No, it wasn't. Fire inspectors weren't even allowed into certain parts of the building. Photos of where the fire actually started were suppressed and never appeared in court. It was actually one of the worst investigations of a fire ever conducted. It's apparent you know nothing about it.

@@greyeaglem It's APPARENT you're a Jackbag! State investigators were on site for weeks you moron. They had full access. I was there to witness. Go back to your Mommy's basement and concoct some more tall tales you can share on the Internet with all your Cyber friends. Go wash your hands too and get all the Cheeto dust off your fingers. I bet your keyboard is a mess!

They say it could have been mob related arson, but I seriously doubt it... The mob would wait until the wee hours of the morning when no one was there in order to torch it... No, I think it was exactly as they said - Namely, electrical due to shoddy installation because the whole building had been added on over the years in a cheap and haphazard way, according to some that had worked there... It was an accident waiting to happen, and it finally did!

Oh, it WAS an accident. Of sorts. The timer was set wrong. It was SUPPOSED to catch fire in the wee morning hours, but they messed up. The mob was close to panicked, and quickly called Julian Carroll and called in every favor and piece of blackmail to make sure the investigation was sabotaged that the owner would be blamed.

You have to be a very evil person, to loot from a body of a person; who dead. There should be a special place in Hell, for a person, who would do such a thing. God Bless all of the people involved in this terrible tragedy.
