the A hero protects Akihabara's economy by, along with other otaku, wandering around buying stuff. but also checking the live performances and stuff like that.
Hahahaha. Awesomeness. That "A-Hero" guy was the best XD Really want to go to Akihabara, lol. Such a lot of cool stuff there, I'm not sure if I'd actually want to know how much money I'd throw out there though XD
@maxsims11 I was at Akihabara for the first time about two weeks ago. There isn't a ton right around the train station, so if you have time to burn, it's seriously worth it to explore.
OMG I been to that same store last week, I see no A-Hero nor real rei in that display. That store is pretty big and has alot of gundams on 3rd floor. Best place to buy anime figurine there. However, there is some cheaper place by the station.
I am saving money to go to Japan, though there's a long way left. It's my dream travel by far and maybe I'll even live there one day, if I can. I do btw consider myself to be a Japanophile and Otaku xD so that's why Akihabara is a place I really want to visit. I know I would be going to throw out a huge amount of money just in Akihabara to by everything that I want. It has everything I could ever want, more or less, lol.
To tell you the truth, I have been to Akihabara, and although it is still a cool scene to behold, it is not nearly extreme as you see in this video. Mind you, I went there in July on a Wednesday. Weekdays things are more tamed down. Sunday, I believe is when the cosplay crowd gathers.
On Japanese anime, there are so many factors that appeal to you.First of all you love the characters because they usually have many complex feelings, just like real people.Secondly, the artwork is beautiful and unique to Japan. Finally,so many of the stories are full of imagination and humanity. And in Japan ,people who really love anime are called "otaku." Although the origin of the word "otaku" is unknown, one of the implications is that anime fanatics never leave their house.
Lol, A-Hero reminds me of Izumi Konata from Lucky Star. Instead of 'densetsu no shojo A', it has become 'densetsu no dansei A'. Anizawa Meito would be proud XD
I like how they're very positive about the Otaku culture. In my country, people who are that way, and are like a nerdy person, are hated and made fun of. It's so sad... It is such a fun thing to be, and yet those people are treated horribly. I'm a little jealous of Japanese in that respect.
@ jontiswe I highly recommend visiting Akihabara. Even for non-otakus, it's a very cool place to visit. If you're specifically into electronics, games, anime/mangas, model figures, and adult videos and porn, then this is the place. Trust me. Save up your money (a lot of money) and take a trip to Japan. It will be worth it.

I can't even do RockBand blindfolded, now that is hardcore.

Anyone who loved cartoons as a kid and dressed up as a hero is at least a little otaku.

Lol, A-Hero reminds me of Izumi Konata from Lucky Star. Instead of 'densetsu no shojo A', it has become 'densetsu no dansei A'.
Anizawa Meito would be proud XD
hand-made ..made me rofl
LOL @ sho.. shoo.. shokotan!?!?
I made that comment a while ago. I realize now that there are cruel and thoughtless people in all countries.
Shokotan-in-a-box would be an instant purchase, even if I had to sell my house and car and visit loan sharks to raise the money.
oh yeah that's why they call it the otaku's paradise on earth..
I like how they're very positive about the Otaku culture. In my country, people who are that way, and are like a nerdy person, are hated and made fun of. It's so sad... It is such a fun thing to be, and yet those people are treated horribly. I'm a little jealous of Japanese in that respect.

I thought the work 'Otaku' was an insult in Japan. They take it so lightly....

@ jontiswe
