i miss the days when the whole troupe used to be really close friends, and there were so many male / female friendships. in season 1, we had lots of good pairings like riley and eldon, giselle and daniel etc but now in season 7 we don’t have so many. izzy and heath could have been good but were really underdeveloped, and piper and finn have now been turned into a romantic relationship. i really want to see more of people like richelle and ozzy, or somthing like kingston and lola’s friendship. in actual fact i just want noah back because noah and richelle were my favourite pairing of all time on TNS!!
yuh huh, i've been watching season 4 recently and they had a scene regarding boy-girl friendships but almost every developed boy-girl friendship has been turned into a romance (which is also extremely heteronormative smh)
Yeah, I think they could do so much with Richelle and Noah's friendship, like in season 2 or 3, but instead, they made it seem like Richelle was a good friend with Noah, and Noah didn't care about that friendship, till the "No shell" episode.
Instead of Alfie being a prince maybe they could have done a storyline it could have been like he has really rich parents who own a big company in Switzerland and that they want Alfie to now run the whole company and since Alfie is probably just 18, he just wants to have a normal teenage life or something .and I also feel like him and Riley could have been just really close friends and then Alfie could have a really likeable character
YES! it would be so much more realistic! maybe not have him run the whole company at 18, but that he has to prepare to take over some day, and to take internships and learn from his parents and to find a "perfect" fiancée and so on... but Alfie wanting to dance and to be free. i also don't get why, of all countries, they had to choose Switzerland, because Switzerland is not a monarchy and never was one, so they kind of "teach" children something completely wrong.

I personally think that season 1 Riley was my favourite Riley in terms of character. She got to show herself in a light that wasn’t shadowed by James, and although I love Jiley, I feel that Riley really got to shine on her own, and really got to be that anxious, sweet and by the book girl that she has always been. Sometimes I feel that in the later seasons her persona got watered down by Jiley and I missed that “Riley spark” she was known for in the beginning.
The thing is some of the A troupe characters weren’t as interesting anymore which was why people were so interested in B troupe in the first place. B troupe had this chemistry that was just missing in A troupe
I mean true, but it could be said she deserved that title for how she gave up being a dancer in order to do what was right by the studio and by the dancers that had been cut!

I wish Riley was dance captain in season 4 and Kate brought in an adult studio head. The Riley and Alfie thing would have made more sense and we could have seen Riley struggle then strive to be dance captain.
I've never thought about the goofiness of predominantly male characters but it's so true! My unpopular opinion (if it is considered unpopular) is that Kenzie was the obvious choice for dance captain in season 7 (between Kenzie, Richelle and Summer), as Richelle boasted about her dancers and didn't let them take breaks, and Summer basically just blew Winnie off when she delivered a good performance.
I agree ! Kenzie seemed like she could be a really understanding and helpfull dance captain while still being tough. And her choregraphy was way better than Summer's. The only thing that let her done was saying Jude should be the alternate when she was obviously not able to pick up choregraphy.
Also I thought Lola in season 5 should have returned in season 6 because she was a great dancer and I wanted Richelle and Lola to make up after the shoe incident
It was because the actress who played Lola was filming something else but I did really like Lola and I waould have like for her and richelle to make up

Lmao at 25:47 I was thinking Noah is the best character period, and then hearing you mention noah a couple seconds after I thought this was hilarious😂 I feel like Noah has this advantage because he was there from season 1 to season 6, unlike most characters. He got a good development throughout many seasons, had a good balance of goofiness and being serious, was a great dancer and had a lot of emotion, and majority of his character storylines were interesting or fun to watch and get attached too.
I conpletely agree. He's literally such a great addition to the newer A-Troupe and he was in J-Troupe for the first season so which makes him the best character
Literally i think all Piper needs is one more boost of confidence and then she'll be top for me!! I just don't see her as a 'lead dancer' yet, and if she had the confidence to go with her talent and versatility she'd have no faults from me!
i completely agree that the show should age with the viewers!! i don't think like some people it has to end, i would enjoy a couple more seasons as long as they have mature themes explored without, as you said, being inappropriate! less dramatic dialogue too.
18:41. This is my opinion. I'd like to clarify I only thought Riley was boring alone. Her storylines with others like Emily, James and Ella were what developed her and made her enjoyable to watch. I think the problem is the writing never made her able to stand as a character alone, she always needed to lean on stronger personalities. As an individual she was never developed, thus making her boring to watch alone. Like Alishea I wanted to see her have her own storyline. That is what I meant Love this channel btw.
Has anybody ever noticed the solo that Ella did at internationals(that Riley was supposed to do) is not Riley's style at all? Ella does a few tricks that Riley cannot do, like a backhand spring.

Also, I find it really unrealistic that these characters only have studio drama - like I get the show is all about the dancers, but in the past they’ve chosen to pursue the wedding of side characters lmao. So it would’ve been great if in season 7, we saw some issues with the family and maybe that would’ve made finn’s late storyline more reasonable. Say he has a lot of issues at home and he hasn’t been able to sleep properly..it didn’t have to be explicit, like not even piper would know. And then it would have been thrilling to see him maybe speak out of turn with piper when she gets mad at him, and they both apologise to each other.
if s8 happens, i'd love richelle (if she will still be on the show) to have a close, male friend - maybe ozzy or heath. it would be nice to see richelle fully trust someone and i would love to have a girl-boy friendship without any romance!
I agree, I also feel like Nochelle was not correctly developed, like it was good in the beginning and they had some good moments but I feel like they just spent most of their time arguing which kinda made their goodbye a little unsatisfying, just myopinion though

The thing is, Nochelle looked really good as best friends in seasons 2 and in season 3 when Bryles started going out unofficially their chemistry changed and they looked like more than friends. When Bryles became a couple officially, Nochelle looked like a couple because Bryles’s Chemistry was different. The way they look at each other is not a best friend way.
22:07 I think the reason for this is the team diversifying. Think back to season 1-3: When auditioning Kate wanted well-rounded dancers. Look at someone like James- his main style was definitely hip hop but during the audition they mentioned appreciating the fact that he had solid technique as well. So even when we had more "specialist" dancers, everyone could mostly do the same thing, or it was enough of an even split between hip-hop and technique-based dances for it to not look weird when say just the boys and Giselle did flips, or when we had mostly the girls along with Eldon doing a turn sequence. Flipping that on its head a little, consider season 6 and 7: There was such a heavy emphasis on having both "technical" and "hip hop" dancers on the troupe, that they stopped looking for well-rounded dancers. So in season 7 we have Kingston who can only do hiphop or someone like Piper who can only do technical stuff. In the end you have to "dumb down" all the choreography to compensate for the lack of well-rounded dancers in the first place, thus making the routines less impressive than those of earlier seasons. Hope any of this made sense lol.
Well season 7 kingston has great technique and can do contemporary and we've seen piper do hip-hop when she was on tns west or even later through the seasons so I don't really see where you're coming from...

I think that alfie is hugely overhated, the only reason the tns fandom got so upset with him was because they love jiley so much. Alfie was a really nice and genuine person before ralfie.
I would like to see a similar Piper mental health storyline but with a boy. It’s still a taboo about boys mental health and even a toxic masculinity storyline could work well if orchestrated in a respectful way

As for Mochelle changing. It wasn't even in a short period of time. "Lost and Found Music Studios" was in between season 3 and 4. Also Noah's physique had drastically changed. So it was around 2 months or so.
Okay, I'm not sure if it was intentional, but I was rewatching the season 5 episode where Leon Blackwood comes as a guest choreographer, and Michelle is explicitly made to say that since she's a studio head she deserves some credit (regardless of how little she contributed towards the organisation/payment/literally anything to do with the masterclass). I mean in that sense, Emily can be seen in the right for holding a vendetta against Michelle - and also feel like that emphasises to me that Michelle won't consider other people (despite that's how she's been brought out to be) if she's being complimented and is given attention.
Unpopular Opinion: Kenzie and Lola would have been best friends? Lola was always looking for a good friend and Kenzie was always a good friend to have, we saw it with Davis and Kenzie and even Kenzie and Richelle with their frenemy relationship.
The only thing I think was handed to Summer was the fact that everyone else had to tryout for the team, and Miss Angela brought in Finn, Kenzie, Lily, and Summer without them even trying out
This was my first video in a while, since the most recent tns isn't available in the US, i think..., but i really enjoyed it! Also, i really think that season 8 shouldn't bring in any new characters, for the dancers at least, and should focus on developing the characters they already have. I also think they should put emphasis on the fact that b-troupe isn't lower, but recreational. Maybe they could do something similar to season 3(?) And combine the 2 groups, the 2 groups being the current a and b troupe, instead of having one or the other go to nationals. It should be kind of focusing on A troupe going to nationals and becoming a better team, while b troupe focuses on developing their skills and becoming better dancers, yk? That way we can see characters we know be developed, while also possibly seeing more male/female friendships without it evolving into a Romantic one

My unpopular opinion: Clude had good development. So, lots of people have been saying they liked Clude, but didn't think they had enough screen time. I honestly think that they did though. The development was subtle, sure, but it was there. We saw them built up as friends first, and develop a strong bond, but it was clear Jude liked Cleo right away. Every scene that they were both in, Jude would have a talking head about what Cleo was doing right, and she would always want to be around Cleo. With Cleo though, it was harder to tell. It seemed like her crush on Jude had kinda knocked her sideways, so she was a lot less forthcoming. For Cleo, it was the jealous glance she shot Summer and Jude when they were talking (and Summer was cutting Jude from the dance). It was her insistence that Jude shouldn't have been cut from the dance. It was the look she gave Jude in the lockeroom, after Jude finally asked for help. Crushes on someone you previously perceived as a friend can be confusing. And I know! I've been there! For Clude, their transition between friends to girlfriends was pretty smooth, so I don't think they needed a lot of actually romantic scenes. We knew they cared about eachother, we knew how they felt. And the duet, tied up everything TNS had been hinting at the whole season, and once and for all, Cleo and Jude crossed the line of friendship.
I agree that Richelle should've been featured in season 4, they could've done so much more with Nochelle in that season but they just didn't really develop it and she just seemed kinda one-dimensional a lot of the time but she had some good emotional development in certain seasons I disagree about Michelle in Season 4, I felt like the whole thing was so out-of-character and the whole thing with Piper was just weird. Some of it made sense though, mainly the part that I thought was off was just the thing where she tried to make Piper nervous
11:12 I think what the commenter means is that they mentioned In those first two episodes that people come in and join B-troupe and then have to work their way up (obviously the rule was changed as the series progressed, but those were the original rules). So imagine having this be the rule for the 14 years you were at the Next Step, and then having it suddenly be changed because some random girl walked in - late, I might add. I mean maybe I'm just a petty person, but I do get It. I don't agree with Emily acting out that way, but I do understand it.
I really dislike a lot of the unpopular opinions regarding Michelle. I think her character was really well written in Season 4 and she only put on a front not only to better herself, but the likes of Piper, who had a soft interior. I was absolutely devastated when she was taken off the 'Let's Dance Tonight' routine at Internationals and think she should've been allowed to dance, rather than West who had food poisoning. I know that Victoria was injured but still, we didn't know that at the time 😂 I also think that since Thalia's dance studio was heavily improv-based, she would've been able to do a great solo at Internationals when Riley's choreography was stolen by Ella but who knows.
i don't think amanda should be praised for nationals at all and i can see why it would be hard to trust her as a member of a-troupe but i do really empathize with her. like ultimately she was a kid and her studio head pushed her to go undercover (with the added pressure of losing nationals for her team the year before and constant checkups from tess) and she did everything she could to apologize and make it better (not just nationals but going against elite in the battles and refusing to go with lucien's scheme)
also i get kate being skeptical but i agree with what you said about just being honest about it like she had no problem during the battles and even said something like "amanda has proven her self and i really think she will come through for her new team" but then continued to treat her as if she wasn't actually part of the team
18:30 I don't agree, because in season 6 (I think), when they saw who was going to dance the pas-de-deux (I think), Michelle and Emily just "gave" Summer, without any auditions or anything, Richelle had to insist a lot and ask for an audition to get the dance (which they should have done from the start), and if she didn't have enough choreography, they wouldn't even consider another dancer, they'd just give it to Summer, and that wasn't it. the only time
I totally agree about the boy/girl relationship thingy... It's like Piper and Finn, friends one season, a couple the next. Amy and Henry were great friends and always supported eachother throughout season 4 and 5, but next season, oh look, they're a couple. Same thing with Latroy & Sloane, and Eldon & Michelle. Like can they just keep some people as friends for a change

Summer barely auditioned for A troupe in the first place, Ms Angela just brought her in, and when Emily and Michelle came in she did like 2 8 counts and was suddenly amazing (unpopular opinion but I think in S7 she was a lot better than S6 and the writers did her dirty cuz people didn't like her), summer got front and centre from barely lifting a finger while Richelle had been there since S2. I also disagree about saying richelle shouldn't have been featured since she was new HALF THE TEAM WAS NEW and richelle had been a prominent character since S2 and had auditioned multiple times so she wasn't really new. Summer also got handed face of absolute dance and really rubbed it in richelles face (while this appeared out of character it still happened and she still did it) summer also got handed dance captain without having to get voted in which I think did lead to a power imbalance since A-troupe didn't respect her and respected Richelle much more because she's a senior dancer who has been there for a long time and has a powerful ‘dance captain’ vibe.
Not sure if this was said already but Giselle did mention wanting to become a studio head “like miss Kate” in season 2 when she and Thalia were helping Michelle learn choreography when she came back to a troupe
I think that with the summer Richelle choreo I didn’t particularly like Richelle’s but the fact that all of a-troup thought it was better indicated to me that it must have been better in some ways
Ms. Kate was very disrespectful towards Amanda considering the fact that Stephanie would also audition for shows and miss the A- troupe tryouts, so it's very unfair how Amanda got kicked out when Stephanie didn't. That also goes for Chloe Miss Kate barely have her any warnings about leaving early and being late. Miss Kate is very biased if you think about it.
i feel like if they do season 8 they've set it up for a merge scenario just like season 5 with the filler characters on B Troupe and some A Troupe members will probably leave and be replaced by some B Troupe e.g. Cleo, Jude, Izzy, Ethan and Presley and then 5 from A Troupe, probably Piper, Henry, Amy, Finn and Summer/Heath. I feel like Ozzy, Richelle, Kenzie, Lily and Kingston don't really have much left like Richelle and Ozzy have explored everything, Kenzie Lily and Kingston are so underdeveloped they just dont seem to be there
Honestly season 7 could have been so much better! The characters seem to have developed backwards from season 6, like seriously we had the “zero percent club” in season 4 which was so unrealistic and now we have “Funder bro’s” like ummmm… it’s just boring and bit cringey I mean do people really have these “groups” nowadays 😅. Also can I just say how on earth is Richelle supposed to be one of the most eldest in the troupe when the writers have given her ZERO development across all the seasons and then she gets her “episode” of each season where she Finally shows emotion and then the next seasons she’s just back to her normal self entitled ways… what is with that?? Show a more vulnerable side to her, show MATURITY with ALL the characters… I’d much rather have B troupe have the more “childish” storylines than A troupe considering most of them have been on the team for much longer time and have had this time for development. It’s just so unrealistic though, that NONE of A troupe who’s ages I’m guessing vary from 14-18, have any experiences that are more mature and different and unique otherwise it’s just gets boring and it’s like the same old same old. So yeah here’s to PRAYING season 8 will happen and tick all the boxes… 🤞🏼 P.s. Alishea if you don’t become a part of season 8 (if it happens) one way or another I will personally go over to Toronto, and stage a protest 😅😂
Another comment because the tiny instagram box was not enough for my opinions. I've seen in the comments of the TNS UA-cam page that a lot of people dislike Piper because "all she can do is turns". Piper is quite possibly my favorite character. I know that piper struggled with her aerial and acro, but i don't think that makes her "the weak link". I think Piper/alex chaves' style of dance is so beautiful and kind of shows that you don't need to do a ton of acro to be a strong dancer yk? I just kinda wish that the tns writers focused less on her relationship with finn or her struggling friendship with amy. Her struggle with self confidence made her a really relatable character, to me at least. I'd really like to see that side of her be more developed. I want to see a piper who is confident in her ability, being an example/role model for viewers who may also struggle with that. Idk piper is just my comfort character and i don't really appreciate what they did to her character with the whole pinn/famy situation. Like i ship pinn, but they should've come together in a more natural way. I ALSO THINK THAT PIPER SHOULD INTERACT WITH MORE CHARACTERS THAN JUST AMY AND FINN, CAUSE SOMETIMES IT SEEMS LIKE THOSE ARE THE ONLY CHARACTERS SHE INTERACTS WITH AND THAT'S NOT OKAY. Like if you watch the season 6, season 7 dances, when piper is dancing, Henry is always hyping her up and looking amazed when she does something, are they good friends? I dunno, they could be 🤷🏽♀️
Season 4 Riley I liked she gave the best decisions of her knowledge If miss Kate gave her a bit of training she might’ve been able to give a better decision
I feel like in season 6&7 they didn’t rehearse anything they just did random duets and small groups but in the earlier seasons u saw them rehearsing the dances that they did it regionals or nationals and it felt like a studio which it should they kinda forgot about dance😂
I disagree in season 6 we saw a lot of rehearsals but I agree with u in the season 7 it was like they just had these routines magically created while they were riding roller coasters and drinking tea the RIGHT way in the next steep
Hey Alisha i was thinking about how much time is passed from season 1 to season 7 (sorry if my English is bad i'm Italian). When season 5 started Amy said they came back after 8 months, after Gemini won internationals, so i am assuming every dance season takes 4 months but it seems a little bit weird because that would mean that from season 1 to season 3 it's only one year.
I think the thing with summer is that people didn’t think she earned it. Like she walked and didn’t audition and got all the things and personally I think she was kind of rude to the other dancers about it. It is like at a workplace the longer you work their the more respect you get. With richelle before she got in she auditioned 3 times when summer didn’t audition at all. She had worked so hard to get into a troupe. Also does anybody remember when Emily was teaching richelle to be dance captain and then she gives it to summer. I just think richelle kind of should have been higher up in a troupe then summer in season 6 and season 7. Can summer do those flips!
I agree! Everything was handed to summer when she only did a 30 second dance, Michelle and Emily only know her skills not her flaws so it's really disappointing that she got front and center. Michelle and Emily bias her like CRAZY she got a solo and almost a duet with Noah. Her and Noah have no chemistry that's why I'm glad they gave the duet to Richelle instead, and summer was really never fit for dance captain, Richelle had all the qualities and was there long enough to know the other dancers flaws.

My unpopular opinion (if it is considered unpopular) is that Kenzie was the obvious choice for dance captain in season 7 (between Kenzie, Richelle and Summer), as Richelle boasted about her dancers and didn't let them take breaks, and Summer basically just blew Winnie off when she delivered a good performance.
I agree ! Kenzie seemed like she could be a really understanding and helpfull dance captain while still being tough. And her choregraphy was way better than Summer's. The only thing that let her done was saying Jude should be the alternate when she was obviously not able to pick up choregraphy.
Also I thought Lola in season 5 should have returned in season 6 because she was a great dancer and I wanted Richelle and Lola to make up after the shoe incident

He got a good development throughout many seasons, had a good balance of goofiness and being serious, was a great dancer and had a lot of emotion, and majority of his character storylines were interesting or fun to watch and get attached too.

Literally i think all Piper needs is one more boost of confidence and then she'll be top for me!! I just don't see her as a 'lead dancer' yet, and if she had the confidence to go with her talent and versatility she'd have no faults from me!

18:41. This is my opinion. I'd like to clarify I only thought Riley was boring alone. Her storylines with others like Emily, James and Ella were what developed her and made her enjoyable to watch. I think the problem is the writing never made her able to stand as a character alone, she always needed to lean on stronger personalities. As an individual she was never developed, thus making her boring to watch alone. Like Alishea I wanted to see her have her own storyline. That is what I meant

Also, I find it really unrealistic that these characters only have studio drama - like I get the show is all about the dancers, but in the past they’ve chosen to pursue the wedding of side characters lmao. So it would’ve been great if in season 7, we saw some issues with the family and maybe that would’ve made finn’s late storyline more reasonable. Say he has a lot of issues at home and he hasn’t been able to sleep properly..it didn’t have to be explicit, like not even piper would know. And then it would have been thrilling to see him maybe speak out of turn with piper when she gets mad at him, and they both apologise to each other.

The thing is, Nochelle looked really good as best friends in seasons 2 and in season 3 when Bryles started going out unofficially their chemistry changed and they looked like more than friends. When Bryles became a couple officially, Nochelle looked like a couple because Bryles’s Chemistry was different. The way they look at each other is not a best friend way.
22:07 I think the reason for this is the team diversifying. Think back to season 1-3: When auditioning Kate wanted well-rounded dancers. Look at someone like James- his main style was definitely hip hop but during the audition they mentioned appreciating the fact that he had solid technique as well. So even when we had more "specialist" dancers, everyone could mostly do the same thing, or it was enough of an even split between hip-hop and technique-based dances for it to not look weird when say just the boys and Giselle did flips, or when we had mostly the girls along with Eldon doing a turn sequence.
Flipping that on its head a little, consider season 6 and 7: There was such a heavy emphasis on having both "technical" and "hip hop" dancers on the troupe, that they stopped looking for well-rounded dancers. So in season 7 we have Kingston who can only do hiphop or someone like Piper who can only do technical stuff. In the end you have to "dumb down" all the choreography to compensate for the lack of well-rounded dancers in the first place, thus making the routines less impressive than those of earlier seasons.

Well season 7 kingston has great technique and can do contemporary and we've seen piper do hip-hop when she was on tns west or even later through the seasons so I don't really see where you're coming from...

As for Mochelle changing. It wasn't even in a short period of time. "Lost and Found Music Studios" was in between season 3 and 4. Also Noah's physique had drastically changed. So it was around 2 months or so.
Okay, I'm not sure if it was intentional, but I was rewatching the season 5 episode where Leon Blackwood comes as a guest choreographer, and Michelle is explicitly made to say that since she's a studio head she deserves some credit (regardless of how little she contributed towards the organisation/payment/literally anything to do with the masterclass). I mean in that sense, Emily can be seen in the right for holding a vendetta against Michelle - and also feel like that emphasises to me that Michelle won't consider other people (despite that's how she's been brought out to be) if she's being complimented and is given attention.
Unpopular Opinion: Kenzie and Lola would have been best friends? Lola was always looking for a good friend and Kenzie was always a good friend to have, we saw it with Davis and Kenzie and even Kenzie and Richelle with their frenemy relationship.

This was my first video in a while, since the most recent tns isn't available in the US, i think..., but i really enjoyed it!
Also, i really think that season 8 shouldn't bring in any new characters, for the dancers at least, and should focus on developing the characters they already have. I also think they should put emphasis on the fact that b-troupe isn't lower, but recreational. Maybe they could do something similar to season 3(?) And combine the 2 groups, the 2 groups being the current a and b troupe, instead of having one or the other go to nationals. It should be kind of focusing on A troupe going to nationals and becoming a better team, while b troupe focuses on developing their skills and becoming better dancers, yk? That way we can see characters we know be developed, while also possibly seeing more male/female friendships without it evolving into a Romantic one

My unpopular opinion: Clude had good development. So, lots of people have been saying they liked Clude, but didn't think they had enough screen time. I honestly think that they did though. The development was subtle, sure, but it was there. We saw them built up as friends first, and develop a strong bond, but it was clear Jude liked Cleo right away. Every scene that they were both in, Jude would have a talking head about what Cleo was doing right, and she would always want to be around Cleo. With Cleo though, it was harder to tell. It seemed like her crush on Jude had kinda knocked her sideways, so she was a lot less forthcoming. For Cleo, it was the jealous glance she shot Summer and Jude when they were talking (and Summer was cutting Jude from the dance). It was her insistence that Jude shouldn't have been cut from the dance. It was the look she gave Jude in the lockeroom, after Jude finally asked for help. Crushes on someone you previously perceived as a friend can be confusing. And I know! I've been there! For Clude, their transition between friends to girlfriends was pretty smooth, so I don't think they needed a lot of actually romantic scenes. We knew they cared about eachother, we knew how they felt. And the duet, tied up everything TNS had been hinting at the whole season, and once and for all, Cleo and Jude crossed the line of friendship.

I agree that Richelle should've been featured in season 4, they could've done so much more with Nochelle in that season but they just didn't really develop it and she just seemed kinda one-dimensional a lot of the time but she had some good emotional development in certain seasons
I disagree about Michelle in Season 4, I felt like the whole thing was so out-of-character and the whole thing with Piper was just weird. Some of it made sense though, mainly the part that I thought was off was just the thing where she tried to make Piper nervous

I mean maybe I'm just a petty person, but I do get It. I don't agree with Emily acting out that way, but I do understand it.

I really dislike a lot of the unpopular opinions regarding Michelle. I think her character was really well written in Season 4 and she only put on a front not only to better herself, but the likes of Piper, who had a soft interior. I was absolutely devastated when she was taken off the 'Let's Dance Tonight' routine at Internationals and think she should've been allowed to dance, rather than West who had food poisoning. I know that Victoria was injured but still, we didn't know that at the time 😂 I also think that since Thalia's dance studio was heavily improv-based, she would've been able to do a great solo at Internationals when Riley's choreography was stolen by Ella but who knows.
Eldon as a dancer > Daniel as a Dancer i just feel like Eldon does more and always brings something new my opinion
on male/female friendships, i really want piper and henry content!! or finn and lily/kenzie considering they joined the studio together!
i don't think amanda should be praised for nationals at all and i can see why it would be hard to trust her as a member of a-troupe but i do really empathize with her. like ultimately she was a kid and her studio head pushed her to go undercover (with the added pressure of losing nationals for her team the year before and constant checkups from tess) and she did everything she could to apologize and make it better (not just nationals but going against elite in the battles and refusing to go with lucien's scheme)
also i get kate being skeptical but i agree with what you said about just being honest about it like she had no problem during the battles and even said something like "amanda has proven her self and i really think she will come through for her new team" but then continued to treat her as if she wasn't actually part of the team

I don't agree, because in season 6 (I think), when they saw who was going to dance the pas-de-deux (I think), Michelle and Emily just "gave" Summer, without any auditions or anything, Richelle had to insist a lot and ask for an audition to get the dance (which they should have done from the start), and if she didn't have enough choreography, they wouldn't even consider another dancer, they'd just give it to Summer, and that wasn't it. the only time
I agree actually, I feel like that was totally random. Summer was great but they had no clue if she could do ballet 😅

Summer barely auditioned for A troupe in the first place, Ms Angela just brought her in, and when Emily and Michelle came in she did like 2 8 counts and was suddenly amazing (unpopular opinion but I think in S7 she was a lot better than S6 and the writers did her dirty cuz people didn't like her), summer got front and centre from barely lifting a finger while Richelle had been there since S2. I also disagree about saying richelle shouldn't have been featured since she was new HALF THE TEAM WAS NEW and richelle had been a prominent character since S2 and had auditioned multiple times so she wasn't really new. Summer also got handed face of absolute dance and really rubbed it in richelles face (while this appeared out of character it still happened and she still did it) summer also got handed dance captain without having to get voted in which I think did lead to a power imbalance since A-troupe didn't respect her and respected Richelle much more because she's a senior dancer who has been there for a long time and has a powerful ‘dance captain’ vibe.
Not sure if this was said already but Giselle did mention wanting to become a studio head “like miss Kate” in season 2 when she and Thalia were helping Michelle learn choreography when she came back to a troupe

I think that with the summer Richelle choreo I didn’t particularly like Richelle’s but the fact that all of a-troup thought it was better indicated to me that it must have been better in some ways
Ms. Kate was very disrespectful towards Amanda considering the fact that Stephanie would also audition for shows and miss the A- troupe tryouts, so it's very unfair how Amanda got kicked out when Stephanie didn't. That also goes for Chloe Miss Kate barely have her any warnings about leaving early and being late. Miss Kate is very biased if you think about it.
i feel like if they do season 8 they've set it up for a merge scenario just like season 5 with the filler characters on B Troupe and some A Troupe members will probably leave and be replaced by some B Troupe e.g. Cleo, Jude, Izzy, Ethan and Presley and then 5 from A Troupe, probably Piper, Henry, Amy, Finn and Summer/Heath. I feel like Ozzy, Richelle, Kenzie, Lily and Kingston don't really have much left like Richelle and Ozzy have explored everything, Kenzie Lily and Kingston are so underdeveloped they just dont seem to be there
Honestly season 7 could have been so much better! The characters seem to have developed backwards from season 6, like seriously we had the “zero percent club” in season 4 which was so unrealistic and now we have “Funder bro’s” like ummmm… it’s just boring and bit cringey I mean do people really have these “groups” nowadays 😅. Also can I just say how on earth is Richelle supposed to be one of the most eldest in the troupe when the writers have given her ZERO development across all the seasons and then she gets her “episode” of each season where she Finally shows emotion and then the next seasons she’s just back to her normal self entitled ways… what is with that?? Show a more vulnerable side to her, show MATURITY with ALL the characters… I’d much rather have B troupe have the more “childish” storylines than A troupe considering most of them have been on the team for much longer time and have had this time for development. It’s just so unrealistic though, that NONE of A troupe who’s ages I’m guessing vary from 14-18, have any experiences that are more mature and different and unique otherwise it’s just gets boring and it’s like the same old same old. So yeah here’s to PRAYING season 8 will happen and tick all the boxes… 🤞🏼

Another comment because the tiny instagram box was not enough for my opinions. I've seen in the comments of the TNS UA-cam page that a lot of people dislike Piper because "all she can do is turns". Piper is quite possibly my favorite character. I know that piper struggled with her aerial and acro, but i don't think that makes her "the weak link". I think Piper/alex chaves' style of dance is so beautiful and kind of shows that you don't need to do a ton of acro to be a strong dancer yk? I just kinda wish that the tns writers focused less on her relationship with finn or her struggling friendship with amy. Her struggle with self confidence made her a really relatable character, to me at least. I'd really like to see that side of her be more developed. I want to see a piper who is confident in her ability, being an example/role model for viewers who may also struggle with that.
Idk piper is just my comfort character and i don't really appreciate what they did to her character with the whole pinn/famy situation. Like i ship pinn, but they should've come together in a more natural way.
I ALSO THINK THAT PIPER SHOULD INTERACT WITH MORE CHARACTERS THAN JUST AMY AND FINN, CAUSE SOMETIMES IT SEEMS LIKE THOSE ARE THE ONLY CHARACTERS SHE INTERACTS WITH AND THAT'S NOT OKAY. Ye s7 a lot of issues and the style of how it was filmed. It didn’t feel detailed and very predictable at times. Very staged out scenes

I feel like in season 6&7 they didn’t rehearse anything they just did random duets and small groups but in the earlier seasons u saw them rehearsing the dances that they did it regionals or nationals and it felt like a studio which it should they kinda forgot about dance😂
I disagree in season 6 we saw a lot of rehearsals but I agree with u in the season 7 it was like they just had these routines magically created while they were riding roller coasters and drinking tea the RIGHT way in the next steep

Hey Alisha i was thinking about how much time is passed from season 1 to season 7 (sorry if my English is bad i'm Italian). When season 5 started Amy said they came back after 8 months, after Gemini won internationals, so i am assuming every dance season takes 4 months but it seems a little bit weird because that would mean that from season 1 to season 3 it's only one year.
I think the thing with summer is that people didn’t think she earned it. Like she walked and didn’t audition and got all the things and personally I think she was kind of rude to the other dancers about it. It is like at a workplace the longer you work their the more respect you get. With richelle before she got in she auditioned 3 times when summer didn’t audition at all. She had worked so hard to get into a troupe.
Also does anybody remember when Emily was teaching richelle to be dance captain and then she gives it to summer. I just think richelle kind of should have been higher up in a troupe then summer in season 6 and season 7. Can summer do those flips!
I agree! Everything was handed to summer when she only did a 30 second dance, Michelle and Emily only know her skills not her flaws so it's really disappointing that she got front and center. Michelle and Emily bias her like CRAZY she got a solo and almost a duet with Noah. Her and Noah have no chemistry that's why I'm glad they gave the duet to Richelle instead, and summer was really never fit for dance captain, Richelle had all the qualities and was there long enough to know the other dancers flaws.

Definitely not as bad as I remembered when I watched that season for the first time.
