  • Is it worth visiting small towns in Europe? We sure think so! In this Balkan travel vlog, we took a bus from Sarajevo to the scenic town of Travnik!
    Once we got to our Airbnb in Travnik, a small town in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our Airbnb host brought us cherry juice, Bosnian coffee, Baklava, and some homemade cherry cake. The people in Bosnia & Herzegovina have been extremely hospitable and welcoming!
    The Travnik Fortress is beautiful. It only costs $2 to get in and we admired the incredible views. These are the kind of sights that make it worth visiting the small towns in Europe!
    If you are in Travnik make sure you go try the best Cevapi in Bosnia at Hari! People told us that Merkva in Sarajevo is the best but we think that they haven’t tried Hari in Travnik!
    We made friends with a stray dog and named him Tito! We miss Tito and hope he is thriving!
    In Travnik, we found a school that we think teaches two different ethnic groups in Bosnia. They’re technically under one roof, but the Catholic Croats and Muslim Bosniaks are taught separately. If anyone happens to have any recent information on this school feel free to leave a comment. We’re super curious!
    Thank you for watching our Balkan Travel Vlog! After watching do you think it is worth visiting small towns in Europe!?

    9:30 in Bosnia we speak 3 "different" languages but they are actually the same language (Serbo-Croatian called in the past) Its the same languages with no difference... I know its weird but those "3" languages are more similar than British and American English are. There are just few letter different in some words like for Milk "Mlijeko", "Mliko" or "Mleko", but thats only in just few parts of Bosnia . Im from Bosnia, from a small village under a huge Mountain. I live for the past 6 years in Germany and really miss Bosnia. The biggest thing i liked in Bosnia is how laid back people are, almost lazy-like, everyone is welcoming and easy going. If you go to a Bosnain bar in 10 minutes you are going to be treated by everyone like they know you for years... The laws are not nearly as strict as in Germany or other European countries, everything is in hills and in greens. The mornings in Bosnia have the smell of pure nature and the most beautifull landscapes ever.

      The most green country we have ever seen. Absolutely stunning nature and wonderful food and people. It's in our top 3 favorite countries in Europe!

    I’m bosnian, living just 40 mins away from Travnik. It’s funny how’s lady using an app to translate at 2:47 (what’s name of the app?:)). I hope you enjoyed your stay in Bosnia. Nice channel, another subscriber here.

    It’s actually one nationality and three religions, language is the same… But this beautiful country was destroyed from outside, and inner historical separations, that’s why it looks so crazy now: different nations, different languages, like ones came from Mars and others from Venus and Mercury but no… it’s just religion that separates this people, but they just don’t know it…. It’s to bad for such beautiful country… Great video, really enjoy it!

    Travnik was the Bosnian capital during the Ottoman time. That was the main seat for the Vezir who was like a Governor of a province. Yes, the school is separated for Bosniak and Croat kids what we call "Two schools under one roof" in Bosnia and it's common in other towns with mixed populations. Croat part of the school gets more funding and as you can tell it looks better but the whole building looks like an abomination with one part renovated and painted and the other not.
    Language is the same but for political reasons, it's separated into Bosnian, Serbian, and Croatian in Bosnia, and all 3 are official languages.

    • @HaleyandZach
      @HaleyandZach  2 роки тому

      Do you know why one part gets more funding than the other? Who is providing the funding?

    • @Aboleo80
      @Aboleo80 2 роки тому

      @@HaleyandZach It gets funding from Croatia on top of the normal local funding while the Bosniak part only gets the local funding which is very little.

      That school building is owned by the Catholic Church. The Bosniak students will be moving to a new school building this Fall. The “two schools under one roof” were temporary established until the financial issue was resolved.
