The way this song mixes graceful violins and low bassy beats. It’s literally like the music styles of Heaven and Hell are fighting against each other in the song, but in their battle end up accidentally harmonising with one another. It’s Crowley and Aziriphales story told perfectly, through an opening number
Random Fandom Cosplay a group complained to Netflix saying it was offensive so Netflix as a joke said they would cancel it. Point is they complained to the wrong company
Someone making a react video to this show said that the opening is composed so well that after listening to it once you have the feeling you have known it for a long time and it's such a weird and specific comment I can't help but agree.
I'm so happy they decided to flesh out Aziraphale's and Crowley's relationship in the series. They are such an adorable couple. But I still can't get over the fact that Michael Sheen is actually more like Crowley in real life while David Tennant is a cinnamon roll like Aziraphale. XD

just finished binge watching it. loved it!! really like the theme music. i thought it was very douglas adams' ish, especially in the beginning. british humor is so smart.
From what i have heard Terry Pratchett wrote personally to Neil Gaiman shortly before he died begging Neil to make the show himself. The show is a labor of love from one friend to another AND IT SHOWS!
Terry said in a talk on the book in 2004 that because Neil was deep in Sandman at the time, he did the bulk of the actual writing. They collaborated equally on the story, but most of the words are Terry's. And Neil did a beautiful job preserving as many of those words as he could in the script for the show. That humor is 75% Terry Pratchett, and the core themes of the story have a lot in common with his Discworld stories, Their pact had been to see the show to the screen together, with the promise that neither would do it without the other. But yes, shortly before he died (which happened unexpectedly when it did, as a result of another illness), he asked Neil to carry on without him if it came to that.
dude, read every pratchett book you can get your hands on! if you enjoyed this (and the book) you will love discworld's (many) series. i suggest death, witches, and wizards' first, but try and go in order of story, not order of all books written. (like 1, 2, 3, etc... of death, 1, 2, 3, etc... of the witches... and so on) happy reading! there is a laugh on every page!
Wayne Heyward I looked up the wiki entry for the book, and they list the reasons Pratchett have for why he handled most of the writing, which are “1) Neil had schedule commitments for Sandman but I could pause Discworld writing if I wanted, 2) SOMEONE needed to be overall editor, and 3) I’m a selfish bastard and wanted to write the good bits before Neil got to them.” I love it.
I honestly don't think you could have got a better opening song for this title sequence, it's this perfectly melodic, yet distorted waltz that perfectly complements the series. I have zero intention of skipping this intro sequence, no matter how many times I re-watch this amazing series.
The literal opening proves opposites attract. It goes to classic, romantic music you could waltz to, to bebop, loud, chaotic music that should be performed by a secondary school band called "Fallen Priests" (Don't ask, long story) and they go together *great* !
Any Doctor Who fans notice the license plate for Adam's parents when they're driving to the hospital is "TARDIS" backward? (also Crowley's car has "CURTAIN" backward, but I don't know if that is a reference to anything)
I watched one episode with my parents (we were watching it separately before) and my dad SKIPS THE INTRO, like I was having a full on jam session and just goes on and skips it
This is actually the best tv show theme song I’ve ever heard and I never skip it it’s so good. Absolutely fantastic, and I listen to it on repeat all the time.
What a beautiful waltz, combining voices and musical instruments! I love the variations that appear in the end theme of each ep; my fave was the violins/strings version :)
Me too, I love those variations in each episode, in particular the classical melody of waltz. They put so many details that you would have to do with the calm to catch every detail and the soundtrack of this series, ufff 10/10
Just finished watching this with my father and brothers. Absolutely stunning performance! I plan to read the book and enjoy it all over again, and I’m sure Terry Pratchett’s loving it where ever he is.
The thing I loved about this show was just how short it was, it was absolutely amazing, it had it's beginning, middle and end. This show had a story that was just fun, there is no need for a sequel. If there was though, that could also be fun, this series was just so much fun to me. I love a good story and this show definitely delivers on that. I'm always recommendeding it to my friends, I love it. There is no need for more, thank that ineffable God that there wasn't less, it is perfect as it is.
I got recommended this on UA-cam immediately after humming the intro tune even though I haven't been recommended anything to do with good omens for about a year now... yeah my phone is definitely listening to me
I absolutely love this piece. It clearly shows their themes, you can see Aziraphale, Crowley, them together AND also the progression of the plot in it. It's a masterpiece!
Don't know why YT suddenly recommended me this (I haven't searched Good Omens for a while, nor do I watch videos relating to it), but alas, I'll take this as a sign that it's time to prep myself up and go read the book.
I'll be honest. I initially decided to watch this show for David Tennant with a whole lot of reluctance due to how chirpy and comedic it looked. Now I'm humming this whole song around the house everyday, shipping our Ineffable Husbands like mad, quoting the episodes daily, reading the book at least once a week and am deeply attached to this show in a way I never imagined
I really like how it shifts from cello with harpsichord in the beginning to just violin in the "celestial harmonies" part, but then the violin keeps the chorus when it goes back to the intense part.
i set this for my ringtone and forgot i had it saved to a playlist, so in the middle of drawing, i hear this and immediately reach for my phone, which is at the other side of the house
You know, sometimes, most of the time actually, it's best when something ends while it's at its pinnacle! Only watched the first two episodes so far, loving it as it's a perfect match for the book and has such a brilliant cast, but I'm confident it will be as great till the end. And I'll be entirely satisfied. Most often, when you push it, you push it too far and the magic breaks (when I say "you" it's not you personally of course ;) ). I prefer a great mini-series to a mildly pleasant multiple seasons show. :)
@@Arkatox I don't think a second season would feel forced at all. They did set up the ending to be open to future season, even though they don't currently have one in the works.
This may be my favorite TV theme of all time, right up there with Dr. Who and X-files. It does such an amazing job illustrating the tone of the show, is very memorable, and not to mention the animation style of the opening! Absolutely amazing.

*I haven't even started watching the show but I'm already sauntering vaguely downwards.*
I got recommended this on UA-cam immediately after humming the intro tune even though I haven't been recommended anything to do with good omens for about a year now... yeah my phone is definitely listening to me
listening to the soundtrack while re-reading the book is a real game changer
Only when I downloaded the sheets of this music I recognized the Fur Elise reference. Now I love this theme even more)
Me: *walking alone in an empty street*
Me:*puts headphones*
Me: *to myself* you know what to do, do it with style...
time to saunter vaguely downwards...
I absolutely love this piece. It clearly shows their themes, you can see Aziraphale, Crowley, them together AND also the progression of the plot in it. It's a masterpiece!
What's the soundtrack of when Crowley saved Aziraphale's books from the bomb? I NEED IT
Sameee i need answers
It's beEN 10 mONTHs wHERE is IT DaVID aRNOld
I don’t know if you’re still looking for it 11 months later, but if you are, the title’s “Is That You?”, it’s here on UA-cam :)
Ramiel Arts Well, actually, it’s right here: ua-cam.com/video/SeCkDMDxKwE/v-deo.html
Lily it’s unavailable 😔😔😔
My wife and I are doing a waltz to this at our next studio performance
I could saunter vaguely downwards to this all day
Please don't make me wait 3 years for season 3!!
It’s MY mental breakdown so I get to pick the song
The series was simply so much fun to watch! It honestly makes me giddy just thinking about it
Me too. It's been so long since I had such a merry watch.
And the best part of all is ...
... very, very soon ...
... we're all going to get to enjoy it again ...
TONIGHT!
I JUST SAW IT, ISO HAPPY AND SO SAD OF THE END 😭😭
Don't know why YT suddenly recommended me this (I haven't searched Good Omens for a while, nor do I watch videos relating to it), but alas, I'll take this as a sign that it's time to prep myself up and go read the book.
I NEVER SKIP THE INTRO BECAUSE ITS JUST TOO BEAUTIFUL
SAME HERE!!❤❤❤❤
I'll be honest.
Let's be honest, we are all here because they ANNOUNCED SEASON 2!!!!
THEY DID?!
@@VantaDraws yes! Look it up!
I thought that was obvious! 😁❤️❤️❤️
This sounds like someone summed the entire show up in music

This part it's incredible
i binge watched the entire show in one day and for 7 days and counting since i find myself humming and whistling the theme song.
I shouldn't be listening to this before i sleep, now i have to rewatch the entire series for the 4th time *but im not complaining*
I...gave it away...
You wOt?
I gave it away!
Hello everyone after the season two announcement today! :)
i just got a marriage equality ad before this video....”coincidentally”
I really like how it shifts from cello with harpsichord in the beginning to just violin in the "celestial harmonies" part, but then the violin keeps the chorus when it goes back to the intense part.
This theme belongs right up there with the Addams Family and Jurassic Park theme songs. Iconic. Perfection.
this song is so good honestly im obsessed
i set this for my ringtone and forgot i had it saved to a playlist, so in the middle of drawing, i hear this and immediately reach for my phone, which is at the other side of the house
I wish this show was an actual series, not just one and done.
If there was more than one book
You know, sometimes, most of the time actually, it's best when something ends while it's at its pinnacle! Only watched the first two episodes so far, loving it as it's a perfect match for the book and has such a brilliant cast, but I'm confident it will be as great till the end. And I'll be entirely satisfied. Most often, when you push it, you push it too far and the magic breaks (when I say "you" it's not you personally of course ;) ). I prefer a great mini-series to a mildly pleasant multiple seasons show. :)
I thought the same thing after watching the whole season.
I don’t want a season 2. It would feel forced. I would love to see more of the characters, but I don’t know how they’d justify it.
This show is just great! Well done everyone. And of course, never skip the intro.
*slams glass down* ‘TIS A BOP, I SAY.
*takes a large swig of my own wine* I FULLY AGREE, MY FRIEND
