  • Direct steam ploughing was rarely carried out in the UK as traction engines tended to damage (and get stuck in) the soil if it was at all wet.
    This engine worked in Australia where conditions were more favourable and, fortunately, the conditions at Crockey Hill were near perfect.
    The occasion was the Steam Plough Club's 50th anniversary celebrations which coincided with the National and World Ploughing Championships 2016.
