      It is mainly a Harrison composition, but that's the difference between Lennon and McCartney and him. They'll give Ringo their toss offs and scraps, or tell him his songs aren't any good.
      Harrison will forget all that bullshit, and give Ringo his best. And Ringo in return delivers something that shows he is just as much a Beatle as John and Paul. As they seem to think neither Harrison or him are Beatles.

    It was fine up till 1:23. Through "John's" part. Then two things happened. The lead singers went off the rails with the lead vocal melody, and it was hard to figure out just *who* the AI was trying to channel. I'm like, "Is this supposed to be George or Paul? And why is he singing it jazz style? It's not a jazz song." But the first minute twenty is very good.

    Lennon and McCartney's loss. They had two guys in their band who could come up with stuff like this together, yet seemed to want to convince those two dudes, and the rest of the world, that these two dudes weren't really Beatles. Or even important.
    This would have been ANOTHER classic in their catalogue. But since Lennon and McCartney didn't think they were in a BAND, they lose out on getting their band even more accolades. You have 3 writers that can come up with quality when they want to, and now they would have a 4th member, if someone gladly works with him, gets more hits.
    Ego and Insecurity. John and Paul. Isn't it a pity.

    • @thefonzkiss
      @thefonzkiss 9 місяців тому +2

      WTF? George wanted to leave the band too, it wasn’t just John and Paul. Watch Let It Be/Get Back, Paul was the only one who wanted to be there and for the band to keep going.

    • @DrTomoculus
      @DrTomoculus 9 місяців тому

      Are you sure about that. Because everything that he had them do while he was "leading" was one disastrous project after another.
      Magical Mystery Tour was seen as their first major failure (not musically, but in film) .
      The sessions for what most think should have been a single album, result in Ringo Starr quitting the band. That's most likely because of the guy who was telling him how to play., what to play, when to play. And jumping on his drums as soon as he was gone. You can tell how far apart they've all grown on this album.
      He then brings them into a cold working environment to work on 20 or 30 songs that haven't been written yet, he's given them 2 weeks or so to prepare for a tv special with these 20 or 30 unwritten songs, AND with a band that hadn't performed in front of an audience in about 3 years by this point. The guitarist leaves the band under these conditons. When he's told what to play, when to play, what not to play, and that his songs sucked before 1969. (Even though Something was written in 1968). AND THEY FILM EVERYTHING AS THEY'RE GOING ALONG. BEING RECORDED EVERYWHERE THEY GO.
      Are you sure he wanted to keep the band going? Because it seems to me, the main person responsible for them breaking apart is him. And when Lennon did try and say, hey, we should cut Harrison some slack here, McCartney REFUSED to bend, and wanted to keep the team effort against that dude ever competing against them.
      While he's buying out his writing partner's shares in their publishing company behind his back. Cuz they're a team. Well, if it's against Harrison. McCartney is always about no.1. He barely thinks he was in a band.
      @@thefonzkiss

    • @thefonzkiss
      @thefonzkiss 9 місяців тому

      @@DrTomoculus Somewhat of a simplistic take.

    • @DrTomoculus
      @DrTomoculus 9 місяців тому

      ya think? I thought it was very well presented what to do to break up a band. I mean it was over for John Lennon and George Harrison by 1966. They were done. And they definitely should have either stopped or taken a break when Brian Epstein died.
      He kept them going. Working on things that were just doomed from the beginning.
      He'd been telling Harrison he sucked since 1965. And he wasn't done telling him that by 1969.
      Who would want to be in a band with people who don't even seem to like you, let alone want to play with you. And that's why he couldn't keep a single member of Wings beyond his wife and Denny Laine around for long. And he took Laine's Mull of Kintrye out from under him, so Laine didn't get away without paying somehow. @@thefonzkiss
