- Computed tomography, or CTs, changed the way medicine is done. Nowadays, this "donut of truth" is used to diagnose diseases, perform image-guided procedures, and even allows us to create 3D models of your insides. So how does it do this?
Here we explore reconstruction algorithms in CT in a (hopefully) easy to understand way. Specifically, we break down the science behind filtered backprojection and iterative reconstruction (ML-EM).

That's a lot of radiation. MRIs have zero radiation. Get an MRI instead.
CT is better suited for some applications e.g. imaging the lungs 🫁
