“How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
Welcome to the Young Nails family! - Навчання та стиль
I'm seeing a lot of pockets like this with gel nails. This helped heaps. Thank you so much for posting.
🙌🏼💅🏻✨
Wow. Melissa is so light handed with that drill. I hope to get that good with practice. Thanks for teaching us ❤️
Your so welcome! You will het better with practice. I have to do it on yourself and you really know the pressure. 🙌🏼😉😊✨💅🏻
So I do my roommate's nails to keep up with my short nail skills and she told me one of her nails broke weirdly. It was this exact issue! I was able to get out the air pocket using this same circling technique and I was so fortunate that I had watched this video because before now, I probably would have just completely filed and soaked it off. Thank you guys!
Thank you so much Melissa my former nail tech use to tell me that’s nothing and just leave them. So glad I learned how to do my own gel nails and acrylics from YN! I swear my nails have never looked better and healthier 😘😘😘😘
That’s so awesome that you’re doing your nails and they’re super healthy!! You go girl! That is amazing!!
Right on time. I struggle with this on my thumbs for some reason.
🙌🏼👌🏻💅🏻
Thank you for all your help!! Young Nails has taught me so much!!!!❤️
🙌🏼👌🏼💅🏻✨💖 Its our pleasure!! 😉😊
Thank you so much, Melissa & YN ❤️🙏🏼
You’re so welcome!!
Thank you for this video, I learned a lot. I just repaired a pocket lift last week. I repaired it ok, but I sure wish I had seen your video before I repaired it 😁. Thanks for your clear explanation and repair tutorial🌹❤️!
That is the best solution and advice how to fix it!! Thank you again Melissa!!
Your welcome!! Any time!!🙌🏼😉😊🤩💅🏻✨💖
This is great information. Thank you for sharing this. You are so talented. Thank you again.
Your so welcome! Thank you!! 🙏🏻💖
I don’t get pockets often, but when I do I swear they’re trying to ruin my life 😭🤣
Lol!! Right!! 💅🏻✨
This is sooo helpful, thank you Melissa 💕
You’re welcome!! 💖
Hi Mel always nice seeing you I love your hats and your style! This video came right on time because I just did a new gel set and noticed small pocket lifting on a couple nails. I don't have ski slope nails though and though I do type all day because this was a brand new set I attributed the lifting either to my prep or because my natural nails were too thin so
I went in and chipped away at that lifting and filled in those spots much like you showed here tfs!
🙏🏻💖😉😊
Great tutorial...very appreciated.
Thanks Melissa 💕
🙏🏻💖 Your welcome!!
Thank you again for all your education
It’s my pleasure!! 😉😊
Yaaas Melissa solving our problems ❤️
Her I come to save the day! Lol 😂
We love you Melissa! Can you guys do a video on acrylic application on ski slope nails?
it's hard to demonstrate it without having someone who has ski slope nails. we suggest cutting them down as much as you can and preceding as you would on someone with bitten nails. Here is a video: ua-cam.com/video/wzra5udVdAg/v-deo.html
Great video. This is so helpful.
That’s awesome I’m so happy you enjoyed it!! 🙌🏼👌🏼
My right middle finger does that all of the time, no matter how well the nail is prepped. I know it’s lifting in the center because I can actually feel it. Just didn’t know what it was, until now. Thank you !!
Your welcome!! 💅🏻✨🤩✨
Great info, and THANK YOU for giving us the RPMs!
👌🏼🙌🏼😉😊🤩

Thank u guys..
Great video..!!!
You’re welcome!! 😉🤩
Lovely thanks
Thanks for sharing❤❤

Great information share 😊

Thank you so much for the video! I have flat nail beds and just started doing my own nails. I have tried many brands of full cover nail tips and there's always a gap, so when they fall off I get a bit dishearted but watching this just showed me that my nails just require extra steps. How do you go about press on nails? I get a lot as presents but I know they won't stay on because of my flat nail beds.
You can always apply then with acrylic 😊
Honestly the best pond as per team bond and straight acrylic or straight gel built on a form! There adhesions far more superior than any tip glue! 😉😊💅🏻🤩
Oooh this kinda freaks me out but it's so necessary to learn 😩
Whatever gray/purple glitter color is on you thumb I’m LIVING FOR IT!!! What color is that???
It’s an opal pigment. Are used it on the sticky layer of my gel like a glitter press.✨✨✨🤩
Amazing thank you :)
You’re so welcome!!
I LOVE GEL NAILS THIS DOES HAPPEN. AMAZING VERY DETAILED AND STRAIGHT TO THE POINT STEP BY STEP ALL VIEWS ARE EXPLAINED THIS IS AMAZING THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💕
🙌🏼👌🏼😉😊💅🏻✨
How would you know you have one with a dark colored acrylic? I get worried putting dark colors without a layer on clear underneath because it's hard to tell if the client is having any issues.
Usually they could fill it. It feels weird and kind of week. So if your clients telling you that you’ll have to take it down to check it out!🙌🏼👌🏼😊😉
Thank you for this! Is it the fine safety bit you used to remove the pocket lifting?
it's our safety bit, coarse
@@youngnailsinc thank you!
Love y’all too!
😉😊💖✨💅🏻
Really can’t see it that good but thanks for the video
What about when it's on the nail tip? I've been thinking it was my glue, is it the same process as well?? Thanks for the info 😀
Same process if the pocket holes in the same spot. If it’s more on the free edge you’ll have to take everything off and re-glue in your tip on.
Always so informative YN Team, thanks a mil. I Encountered something weird - So my client came back after 6wks due to lockdown in our country, Amazingly she'd only lost 1 nail, however, as you can imagine, the nails were extremely grown out. I took down her acrylic leaving basically a thin layer of acrylic as thick as a tip, went through my prep bases and built her new set with builder gel and 2wks later the gel separated from the acrylic. Any ideas on What might have caused this?
Maybe already lifted acrylic? Idk I'd like to know too
Hmmmm. Weird. That shouldn't happen. Gel can be applied over acrylic. The only thing I can think of is whether or not you applied gel top coat on top of the acrylic before applying the hard gel? Typically you would apply Protein Bond primer and then the base coat, and then build the nail with gel. The only other thing I can think of is if you used base coat gel, but applied too thick. You definitely want it super thin and really scrubbed into the acrylic. Hope this helps!
I think i forgot to apply Base...sigh. Thanks ladies
@@grungeygrunge7971 ahhhhhh....glad you figured it out! Base coat is the most important step in my opinion. I once applied gel over polygel and didn't apply base coat because I assumed both were gel products and it wasn't necessary. But the gel literally popped right off the top after a few days. Try again with base coat and you should be good to go! 💗💗💗
You have to make sure you have enough grit like at least a 150 gray and protein Bon for the child to weave into it and hold onto. If the acrylic is too smooth or not prepped enough gel won’t adhere to it!
I would love to see this be done on a person 🙏🏻
Melissa, what are you wearing on your right thumb? That shimmer is gorgeous! 😍😍
It’s pigment. It’s opal chrome pigment I use it on my sticky layer like a glitter press.
@@mjaydelacruz8496 it's so pretty
What if you had a crack or lifting on the side of the stress area? Would you repair it the same or would you need to remove and put on a fresh enhancement?
ua-cam.com/video/-f1iZ3CBNCQ/v-deo.html
Melissas nail colors are to die for! If anyone knows them please share 🙂
Sheer pink 101 with
resolution glitter ✨
@@mjaydelacruz8496 thank you so much!!
Did Mel say to use Protein Bond as mail glue for tips?
Also, what's the shelf life of Protein Bond?
Thanks and love you 😁
She was talking about how the nail glue doesn't stick the tip on all the way and can cause pocket lifting. But if you use protein bond before applying acrylic it helps eliminate the pocket lifting. Protein bond just helps adhere the product better without lifting. It is not used as glue for tips. Hope that helps.
protein bond has a shelf life of 18 months after opening
What grit is the safety bit? Coarse, medium, or fine.
Please and thank you.😊
coarse safety bit
Do you do your own nails and if so do you have a video for that??

Hi!!! 💖✨
This is similar to a fill? In a pocket? Does this happen with acrylic? Okay thank you I haven’t heard of this with gel nails before. 💕
this is actually with our speed acrylic but its the same for gel as well😊
LIKE.
💖✨💅🏻
Thanks for the tip. Greetings Santie Malan
🙌🏼😉😊👌🏼
Good morning
🌞 💖
Interesting....I am about to start working with gel....I like working with acrylic, I think I hesitate because gel doesn't soak off. 😳
Im doing dip nail i get picket lifting just got a bonder but i dunno
Chelse super easy to fall off!😉😊🙌🏼🤩
@@jasmineley1408 pocket listings usually cost from the same thing. It doesn’t matter what product they have on them. 😉😊
@@mjaydelacruz8496 oh okay , i have thin bendy nails my right hand lifted last time and not really on the left. But i noticed they are chipping near the cuticle? Can i prevent this ? They start lifting after it seems
@@jasmineley1408 it’s your prep. You can over prep & cause lifting as well. Look up our Video for proper perp. It’s also on the shaping tutorial.
Is there any way you can make me love chunky mermaid glitter 🤣🙏🏼
