I worship always to this Great personality. He appeared in the world to safeguard mankind. I was fortunate enough to meet Him and it was a wonderful inspiration for me. I never forget his deep kindness and kind-hearted mind and measureless compassion. To my knowledge and understanding, He is the Greatest spiritual teacher in the world today.

The first gentleman who was talking with your highness Dalai Lama, his name is
Yuan Tseh Lee is a Taiwanese chemist. He was the first Taiwanese Nobel Prize laureate, who, along with the Hungarian-Canadian John C. Polanyi and American Dudley R. Herschbach, won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1986 "for their contributions to the dynamics of chemical elementary processes.
So good of an example it is to see the true forgiveness being demonstrated, despite past historical events.
I was thinking the same thing, and forgiveness of what continues with the Chinese continuing Occupation of Tibet.

These Chinese scientists are Taiwanese based Scientists, the Nationalists Party (Kuomingtang or KMT) who ruled China before succumbed to the Chinese Communist Party. If anyone is truly acquainted with Taiwan otherwise known as Chinese Taipeh or Republic of China, will know that Taiwan sees itself as the true successor of post Manchurian Qing Dynasty and in fact has not dropped their claim to both Tibet and independent Mongolia. In other words, Taiwan based administration territorial claim is larger than that of Chinese Communist Party who had traded territories with Soviet Union especially in what is now Russian Far East which also form parts of traditional Manchurian ancestral home. If you look at the Chinese writing here, it's traditional Chinese indicative of Taiwan.

He has to be a polymath at the very minimum and quite clearly he's far more than that. He has to know the languages as well as the thought processes of both HH and the scientists.

There should be a place in the world where scientists (and all who are interested about reality) could come and go, meditate together and share knowledge without time limits and strict time schedules.

it is really amazing how eastern world from 2500 years ago can have such good insight of what is life and universe ? It is only about 100 years ago that QM theory suggested that consciousness is linked to how the universe creates reality.

Very fruitful explanation. By hearing this, one may escape from his pre-conceived ideas. That is world that all live in harmony.
This session would have been more productive and meaningful if the presenters had thrown away the laptop and their presentation slides and just speak adhoc about the concepts they were each going to present, followed by an open discussion or Q&A of their respective topics.
Dr Chii Dong Chen has said it: in science, we rely on an instrument to measure a phenomenon and help to inform us what the objective truth is. This is an admission that if scientists have not yet invented the right instrument to make a certain measurement, then they can't investigate the phenomenon. This is why scientist still do not know how to tackle the idea of a mind (or its existence) while they have fancy tools to study the brain.
Really, I can only watch bits of this kind of talk at a time. It sets my mind whirling. Yesterday I was writing about how we miss the point of everything when we break things down too much. We miss the subtleties and context. Looking hard is distracting and solidifying.
Totally agree. A huge part of our material life today in the 21st century manifests an origin in the industrial revolution. However, as great as our collective body of knowledge is since then, it was built on analysis, on cutting things down to size so that we can understand individual parts. We mostly neglected to give the same attention to the disproportionately greater whole, including contexts of all that we survey. It is a wonder that we as a specie have thrived for so long since the start of the industrial revolution when we have neglected such a huge part of the picture.
I don't know about 'holy' but I LOVE this guy - he's a cheeky chappy, naughty and mischievous as a little boy, very honest and funny, and as cute as a puppy.

The very equipment is highly limited, because we don't know what we don't know, so we can't devise it to receive. The question is not if samsara can be empty of all beings and all attain liberation into nirvana. The question is who will even believe this....? The Kali people are less and less interested in nirvana. Majority Don't believe it and calls nirvana as a nonsense. We can talk, endlessly, but what will come out of it...?

How can I respectfully ask His Holiness' translator to refrain from using and especially. misusing
(the very subtle "rules" of which he doesn't understand!) the new, Modern English term, "sort-of".
As a result of his constant, sort-of (LOL !!) dependence, upon this "fluff"and superfluous undefined part of speech, His Holiness now not only freely uses it, but does so with greater inaccuracy than his highly esteemed translator (whose spoken English is otherwise excellent.
So, I'm hoping he might see this, and consider taking a closer look at his, and His Holiness' over reliance on. this term, how its use dilutes the power of His Holiness' speech.
I hope science advancement will only contribute to better the life of human around the world and not to use in destructive way such as use in wars. It would be a nightmare if scientists from around the world came to Tibet to discuses or make dialogue with Dalai Lama to learn more about reality and only then future science (maybe 100 years later) use it for destruction.

How come Chinese scientist are allowed by the Chinese government to meet Dalai Lama.
They are Taiwanese or Chinese who are the citizen of another country. Not from mainland China.
They are scientists who are from Taiwan, not from China.

Shih Chang Lee is a horrible presenter. He's basically reading off the presentation slides and is not actually presenting. The purpose of presenting is to flesh out what's on the slides, explain the contents of the slide so as to make it intuitive to the understanding of the audience. He did none of that; all he did was read the slides. Just goes to show - a lot of smart people are totally hopeless in explaining their ideas.

Buddha didn't teach anything about quantum physics or reality. Buddhism can be simplified to two concepts. 1. We all suffer 2. To end suffering, learn how to think correctly. Everything else follows from that.

Oh, man! I think the Dalai Lama is having a great time while the scientists are constantly charging themselves:-))))) I also believe the folks from the east are having a hard time to truly understand western science while Buddist science would suit them naturally.
