I would place this book into the ‘magical realism’ genre.
The only channel I get book reviews from ( I can’t trust anyone else)
I'm honored!
Same
This is my first v.e. schwab book and boy was it good! I absolutely loved her style and, like you said, Addie's story deserves to be told. I really want to get more into her books but I honestly don't know where to start, which book would you recommend to a newbie like me to read next?
(loved your video btw!)
hmmm i think the Vicious duology! It's shorter than Shades of Magic so it might be a good place to start
@@StillWaitingForMySatyr thank you!
My daughter is September 4th baby as well! Virgos are great.
Lovely review !!! I think I am gonna read it.
Great review, but the editing was kind of choppy, especially towards the beginning. Looking forward to more!
I agree!!!
I adored it 🥹
I live in Brazil and English books here are soooooo expensive, I'm trying to figure out if getting that one is worth it
to me it totally is
You could try book depository. It has free shipping and good offers
It is same in South East Asia. Try audiobooks and E-books! That way I read/listen to latest books! 🤗
I find myself in the minority here, but I really wanted to love this book. However, I couldn't bring myself to do so. The main issue I had with it is the lack of character development in Addie over the 300-year timespan covered in the story. It's hard to believe that she remained stagnant despite witnessing significant global events, especially considering the continents she traversed. In this world created by V.E. Schwab, encompassing only Europe and the US, the lack of impact on Addie's character is perplexing. Furthermore, the 450-page length felt excessive; the story could have been effectively told in 200 pages. The interactions with Luc were repetitive, and the time jumps lacked the seamless flow needed to captivate the reader. Additionally, the overuse of similes in the first two chapters detracted from the storytelling. There were parts that were emotional.. but that was it,, some parts.. i felt so heartbroken after finishing the book because I wanted to like it..
Just finished the book I really enjoyed it until the end I really didn't like the ending
Great review!! I’ve been meaning to dive into Schwab’s writing and this makes me want to even more.
A Darker Shade of Magic is an amazing series by her, you should definitely check it out!💛💛
I reordered a new copy of Addie Larue as I sold my old one and regret it lol
