Chris Farmer USD Sway 2 First Impressions // Aggressive Inline Skate

- I've skated the Montre USD Sway before, but this new Chris Farmer version has an improved liner and a new soul plate design. I love the way they look and wanted to get a pair to see what changes they've made.

Nice skates I like the Farmer liners
I got these a couple weeks ago and I love them vs the Sway 60 that I had bc these are the correct size. :) my only pressure points are on my inside ankle bones, but I only really feel it when first putting them on, thankfully.
I came here to see if anyone else mentioned this. I'm flat-footed with ankles that roll in a bit. I tried Sways back when they had the baby blue. I literally couldn't stand in them. Seems like all Powerslide skates are narrow in the arch. I guess Germans just have some high arches 🤷
@@danatello8489 I'm trying the Standard Omni which is supposed to have a wider heel/ankle compared to the Sways. They ship in Nov, so fingers crossed!
@@StubbsOTD Yeah I've been considering it since Law announced them on Gear Talk. Especially considering he said the shell breaks are a bit different, like the Cults, which might actually fit me lengthwise too.
Your skating looks really good in the sways!
I didn't know about the origins of the sway, that's really interesting. I do still have those powder blue ones 😄
Big up the sways! They did actually change the grooves on the souls and apparently made the negatives a tad bigger as well. And the closed toe seems to be a much preferred aesthetic.
Came to comments to say this pretty much exactly. The negative area is nice and big but I don’t have old sways to compare to..
bigger negative soul feels like something Chris Farmer would push for, not sure why he's not on the Xsjado style skates though, maybe a sponsor thing? apparently the sways are a bit flexy too though so maybe it works well for him
@@iggywow yeah I dunno about that either. As for flexy I heard Law mention that. I'm assuming they must've changed something, because the plastic of the ones I've had were super stiff!
I just got skates and love them! I will say i instantly traded the crown liners cause they are just super thick and my foot felt tight as hell. With the RL1 liners they fit perfect.
That’s my next test
Def have a Halloween look to them. I love it.
fantastic video, your tricks look solid in them! These will be my next skates whenever I get tired of my Mesmers(which may be a while, lol).
Sidenote: Will the 50/50 backpacks come back in stock for the holiday season?
Unfortunately no, pricing from suppliers has gone up and we’re not sure about a $150 backpack in this economy. Hopefully spring though.
@@BacktoBlading Totally understand! Thank you for the fast response :]
They feel really comfy out of the box. I'm a 9.5 and tried to size down, but the liner is too thick. The 10-11 feels great. I did have some soreness in the arch of my feet after the first session.
Had the same issue. I'm a 9.5, tried to size down and was too tight. But I have pair of aeons that are one size up so I swapped just the liner (so putting a 10-11 liner in a 9 sway boot). Perfect fit
I just got these and they really are a beautiful skate.
Hi Law, how would you compare Sways with USD VII/ Gawds Team skate widthwise? Wchich skates have wider toe box and area near "6th toe"? Thank you. Ps: it's amazing to see how much you improved since starting this channel. Can't wait to see your new skates. Fingers crossed!
😂 nice Tumble at the end 💪. Question : I know the sways aren’t meant for 125s but if those are my only boots is it a bad idea to use aggressive boots with that 125 axle and wheels.
Nice 👍🏻 saw an old vid with u and frank stoner man I usd to hang with him and that whole ATX crew back when I lived there 😂🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Frank is the best
@@BacktoBlading yeah man he really is and coming from Toronto to Austin in 2001 man he and the whole crew we’re just made me feel at home Lonnie would pick me up or Jason Howard
jay g man good old days ...
i have read that the material of the soulplates has changed too.
a bit harder (more fiberglas?) and a bit faster from what i have read.
Will report back
Hey man, how old are you? I’m 43 and haven’t skated in the last 18 years. I wonder how tough it’s to go back to it. Last skates I had were the TRS Treseder
How would you say the shell sizing compares to the Omni's? My feet measure out about 280mm, which puts me solidly in the large for the Omni, but in a grey area for the Sway since I hear the shell runs long (~300mm for the 43/44 shell)
Very similar, but I never felt the sway were excessively large
Random question. But if anyone knows its you. Have you ever heard of a wheel company called Out? Possibly related to remz/remedyz.
I haven’t, sorry
OUT(once upon a time) made the first remz
@@chalkknees1754 So i should of bought them on eBay lol
Thank you for your reply and the info!!⚡️⚡️⚡️
There just like my sway iv team skates
what wheels are you rockin on these? I just bought a pair and want to upgrade my wheels. I'm going for an anti-rocker setup, skating mostly park.
I wore my salomon st8s for so long my shock absorber turned to dust and was absorbed into my heel
I fished mine out of the closet after years of letting them be and one of the absorbers did the same, it's like disintegrating and sticky lmao. Wonder if I can just dremmel down the little knob that holds it in place and put my own in there. Seen a lot of cool DYI stuff done to salomons, especially the USD carbon souls mod
@@iggywow easier to shove something hot into the new absorber or cut away then it is to dremel off the hold in the boot.
Do you have any recommendations for softer boot style? I want to get back into skating, but I was a K2 King55's skater. Loved how grinding hand rails felt on soft boot. I was thinking Remedyz hr 2.5.
Just my opinion but the Crown liner is the worst aftermarket liner I've ever had. I don't know how folks skate that thing. Gratuitous amounts of padding & foam which harkens back to early 2000's when puffy liners & 2nd tongues were all the rage. With the exception of the Mesmer Bolino liner, Farmer Crown liner might be the liner mostly found on Blade Trade Outpost & majority are relatively new & mint condition. Which means, folks tried them & immediately knew it wasn't for them. I've seen folks scoop them up 2nd hand & 10 days later they're reposting the Crowns themselves BUT evidently they seem to be working for you because you were lacing everything.
So what is the difference between sway and aeon? Is the difference only the liner? Thank you for your help.
Pretty sure your feet are not 20,5cm ;) But great review as always!
Ha! 28.5
I thought the Sways were from the Zoom.
You wanna buy or trade I have K2 Fatty Pro size 11. I need something in a size 12
