in fact, people in China like you have earned a lot of money as a online teacher ,(about $400 per student, 10 courses) and I don't think they are better than you, I feel upset as just few of us have chances to watch you videos, because the gov had been blocking the youtube, twitter and other common websites, so we have to pay for vpn to watch your video here...As final, I just want to say, I really learn a lot from your video, and if you open network teaching, or publish these video on the the websites that are not blocked for us, even we have to pay for your video, I am sure we will glade to pay for it.
I am having an issue around 3:19, i set it up exactly as you in the video, but it says my integer is 0 and gives my rectangle grid an error, what am i doing wrong?
+Bianca Koppen Hey there! To be honest, I don't really see grasshopper being suited to making a 3D mesh of the skull, it would take quite a complex definition to give you a mesh representation of that kind of geometry. You'd probably be better off going for a more traditional modelling approach with a skull.
Daniel your help needed :) Ill start from the end- I need to make a portrait made out of dots fritting pattern (pointioalist image) in a range of *10 different dots sizes maximum*- when the smallest size is 5mm diameter and the bigest is 10mm diameter. I mananged to convert the image to fritting pattern and apply the range of the biggest and smallest- but I dont know how to get a result of only 10 diffrent sizes. Is there any way to do so?
Check out this thread on the grasshopper website. I added a reply with a definition for how I would do something like that, and would largely be applicable here. www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/remap-a-set-of-numbers-to-3-values?commentId=2985220%3AComment%3A1754814
hi Daniel,I tried to explode a box and use one of the surfaces to apply your method, but when I use deconstruct domain2 component to get the U and V domains,it shows that the U domain do not start with zero, but the V domain does. Then I select another surface of the exploded box,the U domain starts with zero. This is quite bewildering and it would be great if you can give me some tips.
do you know how to restrict the circle radii (or image sampler values) to specific numbers? like if I want all of the values to be integers, or to have 5 steps between radius 1 and 2?

Daniel Christev i mean like not on the grid, but the image is defined by the same radius circles with different density, another approach, i dont know if its even possible
if you do tutorials: dont use the short descriptions of the functions, you go way to fast and with all the "oh no, not that one, we dont need that one" its a back and forth that made me loose it in minute 2 but thanks for the info, I got a few

Thanks for the feedback mate! I know there's a lot I could do better with these videos, but I just had to start making them, and I've learned a lot along the way. When I get around to doing some new ones, there's a lot of things I'll do differently. Hope they're still useful tho 😊
been struggling getting image/grid proportions right, this was very clear and helpful, thanks
Cheers man! Glad it helped!
master!
I and my classmates have been your fans!
+Chang Big thank you! That's really appreciated!

Amazing tutorial! Is there a way to loft these circles or turn each one of them into a single surface?
it is possible to make those illusion sculptures that only appear if you stay in the right place in grasshopper???

So good and helpful ,thanks man
I love this video
Loved your video! But how can I make a mesh of the final result, so it becomes a 3D skull?

How do you make the circles bigger? Big enough so that the image still could be seen, but the circles are big enough to be laser cut as holes...
very good definition! thank you!

HOW CAN I GET MESH FROM POINTS IN GRASSHOPPER??
+nidhi parsana you can download the meshedit plugin from food4rhino
when you say your going to use these values at 6:19 in the video what command is that
Are you talking about the z vector? It is a vector value which asks for the vertical value that you wish to create a vector at.
how do you turn on your mesh line at 8:23... ?
Click on the grasshopper canvas, and then keyboard shortcut is ctrl-M.
I have made this file how can I now get this file in autocad or other software m trying to export but can't select the circles
You have to bake the geometry. Right click the component, and then bake selected.
thanks for this tutorial!
how can i get smoother surface
Thank you so much!!
why does my grasshopper doesnt have the input tab?
Sorry? I'm not sure I understand...
what program for the image?
+Don Quijote de la Mancha just downloaded an image from a Google search.
how can i do circles, but same size?
Just plug one value into the radius value of the circle...
Daniel Christev i mean like not on the grid, but the image is defined by the same radius circles with different density, another approach, i dont know if its even possible
Sorry?? I'm really not sure what you mean?
could you explain in a clearer way what you mean?

thanks a lot!
what was name of the plugin
Mesh From Points / ua-cam.com/video/HZzj-d68zCI/v-deo.html
how to turn on mesh lines
click inside the grasshopper window, then hit ctrl + m
the thingy where u opened the IMG
+Beatriz Malveiro Are you saying that when you double-click on the image sampler, nothing opens up?
NO! the input tab! i dont have that is it that becuase of the version
+Beatriz Malveiro honestly, I've never come across that problem...
.....ok
I actually do not have the MeshFromPoint.
buen trabajo quisiera si puedes helavorar aves
cool, but man, your mouse make sooo much noise!

Your tuts are high quality, and you really know how to disect the steps for the layman, but your mouse clicking is hella annoying.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!
