    Great tip. I can never understand why someone develops anything without input from mechanics.

    Nice job with the rope trick. I hate those engines, Oil leaked from the valve covers all the time. I try not to work on them in my shop. Thanks for the video.

      Only engine to ever throw a piece of the block at me when the rod exited. Every one has an oil leak seems like. Thanks for watching!

      Definitely! They are good for about 300-400 hours with good maintenance usually and then see a lot of issues. Keep an eye on everything and it will last much longer. Change the oil and air filter often. Thanks for watching!

    Great tips, Martin. 👍
    What an absolutely ridiculous design for an engine shroud! Makes you wonder. 🤔

      It was just all a bad design from the start. I am glad they did away with them after the many revisions never solved the problems

    I didn’t think those engines lasted long enough to need a spark plug. They have an “updated” version of this engine called the 5400 series. I was wondering how well those were holding up since they addressed a lot of the issues.

      Lol, exactly! 5400 seems much better so far not too many issues

    Can you tell me is there a way of knowing if you have slightly bent a John deer blade from a s130

    • @IndRepair
      @IndRepair  2 місяці тому

      Lay both blades on top of each other after removing grass and see if they lay flat. No matter which is on top they should be laying flat together

    They designed that were the average man could not fix it himself.

      That is about the truth! How hard can you make it to change a spark plug someone asked and this was the answer

    They are nothing but junk

      Very very true! I always check for a cracked block and blown head gaskets before I start doing anything to them. Thanks for watching!
