I did 10,000 sunflowers last year started in mid May and planted every other week. I had living sunflowers into end of October. Worked good for my pumpkin patch.
Now this is what makes farming fun, I try hard to grow some things, and they do not turn out like i expect. Then i try something just for the fun of it and it produces more than i ever thought possible...Did Peanuts one year, just for the heck of it, got the bag of seed at a local grocery store off the shelf, unroasted just plain natural.....those things grew like wildfire....lol..I hope this works out and i am sure it will, to some extent...throw some broom corn in with them. Not a lot but the breakup of the colors and contrast in the field is really pretty in the end...like i say not a lot of broom corn just a few here and there!
I like planting beans I get from the store just to experiment like that. Never found raw peanuts at the store to plant so I had to buy expensive peanut seeds. They're a fun crop!
@@ScarletKnightmare yes that to and to clarify the penuts look for a bag of raw inchelled and unroasted. shell them and leave the red skin on them it makes a difference.
Ain’t nothing wrong with experimenting, I do the same thing, I always like to just see if I can grow something for the heck of it lol! Hope they do well!
I was always curious as to how you laid your rows off with no row marker? I usually leave my planner setup at 36 in most everything I have is set up for the combine we used to harvest
Mammoth Grey Stripes? I plant them every year and usually 3-6 pounds of Zinnias for my wife. Could you just use POAST on the grass? Where did you get you Sunflower Seeds?
Without experimentation we'd have no innovation. I'm excited to see how this turns out! Thank you for sharing, brother 👍🏼

Very interesting and I plan to do more experimenting. Thanks for sharing your work.
This is a great idea! I have always wondered if this would work! Keep up the good work, cant wait to see the outcome of this..yall be safe.
Good job. Sunflowers are pretty and rather have them as just weeds.
Good luck with the sun flowers. I've got a little experiment of my own going on.
Please do a video on how you plant your pumpkins. I just got the same planter you have and I'd really like to see how it's done before I try it
I hope the sunflowers make it, if they do they should look really pretty. It’s fun to experiment growing different things.
