After a stupid fight, my friend stopped talking to me. Our friendship was quite unhealthy I'd say, for me especially. Because I acted very difficult and annoyingly when I was with my friend. So when they stopped talking to me, I didn't make an effort to try and fix it cause I found it best to leave it as it was. Although it was very painful for me, not sure how it was for them, I did my best to avoid conversations with them even though we sat next to eachother for the next 2 months. And even if we were talking in the same group during free periods I'd just stay quite. It made me wonder why we were being like this, not like we were actually enemies or anything. Ps. I'm think this song is about lovers who stop being together but I just wanted to write this.
I understand how hard it can get. Sometimes the friendship is not strong/good enough and the two parties would not be ready to compromise. I had the same thing with many friends. I just cut them off of my life, and it's the exact same situation, except the reason I was sick of them is because they only wanted to be friends when they needed something. That disgusts me. I had another friend whom I was fed up with, however we were able to work it out after we had some space. I didn't talk to him for the whole Summer and we rarely talked in school, which gave us time to be less close. writing this because i wished i found this song sooner , but this relates closely to my life , i thought i found the right people in my life and the right friends and so i wasted my one year thinking they’ll be by my side and i spent all my happiness on them and with them , but it turns out none of them understood me , and when things got rough none of them were with me and nobody understood me instead they made me feel bad about myself and made me feel like i don’t belong in this world anymore , that’s when i knew they were toxic and a part of me
feels pain and happiness at the same time when i left them , i didn’t miss them but i missed the memories i made with them slowly every single day and the fact that i didn’t realise this sooner makes it even more painful , i wished i didnt know them , i wish things could be back to the way it is , but know they can’t view me the same way again and neither can i. and as i write this down i bet they’re laughing at how happy they are right now . in such a painful time , i rly thank lauv for composing such a heartfelt song , i couldn’t relate more .
