THIS VIDEO IS 100% TRUE, I did this today and it worked, all you need is a 10mm ratcheting wrench(it makes is easier for the 2 front bolts) and 8mm socket(for the coolant reservoir bolt) and some pliers for the hose clamps, everything else is plastic clips.

thanks alot. i also own a 2011 dodge ram hemi pickup truck. i just had to do the same thing to it 3 weeks ago. take your time and use your phone to take pictures and video. i make videos as i go along talking out loud where things go. you can do, just be easy.
Just bought one of these used low miles I thought it ran a bit warm but didn't see any leaks then I could smell coolant driver side and then I spotted a few wet drip spots in the usual area that I would find them on my old jeep commander 5.7 radiator. The only positive is this Durango doesn't have a huge hydraulic cooling fan set up in the way and that was a shit crock and the a/c hard lines need to bent back a a bit to get it on and out without pulling them and recharge after . I do have an unlimited mileage warranty but I don't feel like losing my ride for the time it takes a dealer to do the job .
Got the 2011 citadel and it cracked in that same exact spot.. only has 80k on it.. doing that job tomorrow just gotta get the radiator. Just hope my pump doesn't sounds like that one 🤞 thanks for the video was about to start pulling the grill apart
Thanks for the video. I'm getting oil in my radiator fluid, but not vise versa. The truck drives great, no blue smoke, no overheating, etc. So I got my fingers crossed it has to do with the radiator.
Your water pump might not be pumping coolant properly. I just had a crack in the radiator on the side in the plastic. If your water pump is rattling then you better get it fixed quick or it'll put you side the road broke down and overheating problems
Man oh man I thought I was the only one that had that problem mine is exactly the same I changed the water pump and put everything back together and it still leaking so upon further observation I did what you were showing me on the side where the fans at and yes it’s leaking I’m ordering a new radiator and I am following your instructions on how to remove it appreciate it plus I think Dodge needs to make a little bit better they’re cooling system efforts
good deal bro, yea its in a tight little spot. take your time and keep a level head. and above all, use the right tool for the right job. let me know how it goes!
I got the parts from the local parts place. I just told them it was a 5.7 hemi engine and they went in the back and brought them out. I don’t recall them asking about heavy duty
you have to pick the radiator up. it is connected to the a/c condensor by plastic hooks. just pick it up off the hooks and it'll separate from the condensor
you separate them but just picking one up off the other. they are connected by hooks. look on your radiator and you'll see a plastic hook on both sides of it. thats where the other piece sits. so just lift it up and pull them apart. be slow and careful and you'll see how it works hands on.
I'm honestly not sure of the brand. I bought it from auto zone. It was around $180 if I remember correctly. I got the water pump from napa. It was $100. The repair went smooth. Absolutely no problems since.
yea thats where a bunch of them crack at. i think the weight of the fan puts to much on it. you know whats wild???, im actually doing the cam and lifter swap on the hemi engine in it now. one of the lifters went out and eat up the cam. big job for sure. gonna try to crank it up this weekend hopefully . it was tapping like crazy and giving misfire codes
Saying if you take these parts off it's and it's easy to replace the radiator without showing us in steps how you did it doesn't really help or make the job any easier. All this video does is show that it's possible to remove the radiator without removing the grill and bumper cover but it does nothing to aide anyone watching your video.
@@curtisnstacey Sorry but I'm just frustrated with how little information there is out there on how to repair 3rd gen Durangos. That fact that the radiator can be removed and replaced without removing the grill and bumper was very helpful. Thank you very much for your video. You've probably experienced my same frustration.
@@greatray6262 yes i have been frustrated many times. i read that you have to take the front grill etc...off as well. i just went outside and gave it a try myself. just take your time and dont be in a rush. give it a shot. if you run into any problems just give me a shout. i'll do my best to help
@@curtisnstacey I got stock at pulling the radiator out because the condenser pipes are on both sides, especially the driver side. The mounting bracket of the radiator now gets stuck in there. I can't figure out how they can be un-stuck. The A/C aluminum pipes are mostly rigid and I'm afraid to break them. Are you able to help? Thanks!
Saved me 3 hours on a 5 hour job man. Thank you sir 👍🏻
No prob at all buddy. Your very welcome

Crazy how those radiators all get that same exact leak. Mine just went out today in the same spot
Yea I know. Right in the crevice on the hanger. Guess the pressure of holding itself up finally gives way
My 2015 is out at 147k leaking like crazy on drivers side
Same exact spot on mine also 2013 Hemi Crew 65000 miles only

shake the pulley on the pump with no belt on it, if its loose might as well change it. if thats an affordable option at the moment.
Totally works ! Thanks for the video.

What was your Durango doing? My reservoir is bubbling.. and I’m also getting the rattle noise from water pump. Is it bubbling because of water pump?
Your water pump might not be pumping coolant properly. I just had a crack in the radiator on the side in the plastic. If your water pump is rattling then you better get it fixed quick or it'll put you side the road broke down and overheating problems
doing this on my 2015 rt right now. i dropped mine out the bottom instead so it didnt catch on the ac condensor pipes.I didnt remove front either...
👍🏼THANKS MY MAN!! BLESSINGS TO YOU, AND YOURS!!

The same problem right here...
How do you know if this is a heavy duty cooling or standard cooling. It comes with both option just not sure how to tell.

Any tips on how to unmount the radiator from the top and bottom mounts in each corner?
you have to pick the radiator up. it is connected to the a/c condensor by plastic hooks. just pick it up off the hooks and it'll separate from the condensor
Show how you separated them

Appreciate it. What brand radiator did you go with?

Still no one on youtube has shown how to take the cooling fan out
The cooling fan simply hangs onto the radiator by the 2 hooks as I shown in the video. That's one of the easiest parts to take out.
Very helpful, thanks bro
No prob my brother
My nigga my radiator cracked on the same spot on my 2014 Durango rt

have a crack in same.place in radiator
Remove the bumper cover & grill when replacing the radiator , 15 mins to remove & will save you a ton of time..
No need to do that. You can replace it without having to take all that apart. No problem at all. Or at least i didn't have a problem
thanks
No prob at all bro
SO WHEN IT DOES BREAK DOWN I'LL FIX IT .
