Nice one David. There are compilation videos and there are compilation videos - I hope people will have the sense not to ask you to react to any of the bad ones that clearly jump about from show to show etc. BABYMETAL live performances are so consistent that it makes it possible for someone with the inclination, talent and time (for example who?) to do a really good job in making it almost seamless and look like one live performance. As Jake Muller has already said, this used footage from just two performances just a couple of weeks apart and with a pretty much identical staging - the description on this channel lists the concerts used for both visuals and audio.
Unfortunately even David's Patreon members make daft requests. How many times has complained about official MV's and blocks yet the requests for them pile in. How can any supporter of his channel expect him to react to a compilation 'live' video, especially as in this case he already knows the song? Yep. It is compilation video. Just 2 concerts. One was in Yokohama June 2019 and another one was in Nagoya July 2019. If you really want see the difference, look at ceilings or roof of the arenas. Also, arena design is different. Yokohama is flat square and Nagoya is round.
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 I can call you "Half of King of Spain". This is a compilation from two shows in June and July, 2019 with Kano as Avenger, a support dancer. That is the reason why the stage setup is the same. The sound is, however, from the show in June only, so sound is not compiled but single source. So, you are 50% correct. You can prepare an enthronement ceremony using a crown of emblem with one lion and one Hercules pillar (not a pair of pillars) 😄
Another good Megitsune to react to is the 2017 Five Fox Festival concert which was an all girl audience. If you want to hear a screaming and emotive crowd that's the one to check out.
Well, the uploader wrote from what live shows he brought the shots so it is definitely compilation videos. I assume why it could be well edited. 1. two live shows used in the video had very similar live settings because those are a series. same venue, same light setting, and same stage. 2. The only goal of Babymetal compilation video is being not blocked by Amuse, so usually people insert a few "long shots" or crowd shots of another show into the original live video, trying to preserve the original as much as they can. So scene changes will happen when camera is taking long distance or concentrating on the crowd, and It can help to avoid the copyright sensor. Anyway, congratulations, King David!
Speaking of compilations, even official live performance videos from Babymetal are sometimes compilations from two similar shows. For example, two years ago there were 10 Budokan shows, with 5 different set lists , so each two shows had the same set list, like day 1 and 2, then day 3 and 4 and so on. Then they released 5 videos from all these shows, named exactly like this: “Day 1 and 2”, “Day 3 and 4” and so on. So everyone’s guess that those videos are actually compilations of the best shots from these particular days. And since Babymetal’s performances are always that precise, concerning choreography, stage movement, and musical performance, they probably had no any hard time doing it. Unfortunately, that way they are also hiding mistakes however small they are.
How the hell can these girls do these concerts at this level and not drop dead after one song. Su doesn't even sound the least bit winded. Amazing staminer.
My only thinking for it being called a compilation would be maybe the same song, same tour/stage/lighting etc but from different nights? Love BABYMETAL, completely consumes my playlists!
Yeah you can see it's a compilation if you look at Su's hair around 10:01 mark. First her hair is as it should be and the next second out of nowhere her hair is slightly messy. Either way it's a really subtle compilation
They don’t tend to play the same songs on different nights at the same venue . They have different names for each night and each has its own playlist . The playlist was different on red and black night concerts at the same venue on different nights . They hand out fan cams for extra footage and my thinking is this is a compilation of pro and fan footage
@@lonerangerak5232 Not always true. That happened only an handful of times. If you take an example at the 10 budokan shows, every pair of shows is completely identical to the previous! 1 & 2 are identical, as are 3 and 4, as are 5 and 6, etc
Hi David, yes this seems to be a type of compilation or what it is usually called a proshot. What is a proshot vs a compilation? A compilation is the more less neat cuts into other shows not similar, less fan cams used, and only certain audios used but not for every main show used. A proshot is the opposite where it may use lots of fan cams and up the fan cam quality in editing, they will match the sounds with where it left off on the original video from the same show to get more newer shots from not only the official ones done on stage or to avoid the block system, the video will be usually from the same series of shows like a Red and Black night with similar sets that con be used for proshots, and the audio will be switched depending on the sounds and picture to match where it left off on the other show. That is very cool and technical stuff, it is good also they say proshot or compilations if not from the same show. You could tell this one was actually a proshot and not compilation due to higher quality stated above. However, the video tou can tell barly it is proshot by looking at Sumetal face with hair being more sweaty on one night and the slight color changes on cuts, and with very few mouth changes of shapes of emotion. Babymetal has so performances of qaulity that to see mouth movement change with the proshot you have to see the emotional face of that moment compared to the other shows moment. These videos will state usually in the description what shows visual and audio were used. The Who? YT channel has been doing this a while and is a pro. These channels also sometimes will fix these up even more in the past for any mistakes they have done. They love showing this band for reactors or new fans to listen without worrying always about copyright. I would say the most impressive proshot videos are Budokan 2021 since there 10 shows. That means 10 audios and 10 visuals needed to be synced with also fans cams if used. That takes a lot of time to edit and match perfectly without getting taken down. Babymetal The Sun Also Rises audio/visuals was used and while Babymetal The Moon Visuals was used only with no visuals. Hope you enoyed this live video perfomance of this song. Just 10/10 for me on song, dancing, visuals, deep meaning, and overall stage interaction/great visual performance. Have good day and hope this helps understand how to see what stuff is used on audio and visuals by looking at the description of the video. Sometimes they will also put it as top comment also. Have a good day! Edited to fix spelling mistakes.
Live Megitsune, hell yeah. Heres hoping it doesn't get blocked. edit: Wait, why is it a compilation? Theres non-compiliations on youtube...right. I've seen a few. Always prefer the full live videos over compilations. edit 2: ...seems to be one performance so far? Wth
that channel always puts what show the audio is from and what shows the video are from in the description if u are curious! this one in particular has footage from just 2 different shows that were about a week apart i believe with obviously very similar stage set ups
Okay, here's the thing....A this is not released by Babymetal, it's fanmade to get some hits on their channel and avoid copywriter. B, the audio is from one single show, only the visual is spliced together, and C, if it bothered you this much, way not just watch a different video? There was one shot about half way through, where Su is talking to the crowd, and her bangs go from dry and straight to wet and messy. I noticed it, so it is there, but yeah they did a really good job mixing it.
Looks like a full show or 2 together because the only Avenger seen is Kano. She was the least used and did not do any shows overseas (Momoko and Riho did those). She was also was the youngest and only around 15 yrs old then.
Ahhh I was waiting for the part where David talks about the crowd interaction but I think he forgot to talk about that for once! I'm sure it was accounted for in the final score :D.
Fun reaction! As fun as the original music video was, Megitsune is even better live because its one of their most popular and as a result, a huge crowd participation song. The opening is tracked as are the vocals when Su is hiding her face behind the mask (Su and Moa actually make faces at each other during this part, similar to the game Band Maid plays with each other). Everything else is fully live though. During their current European tour opening for Sabaton, Moa and Momoko have also been joining in with the talking to the crowd to pump them up for the jumping part, which is cool to see. So was it a compilation video? According to the video description it used footage from two different shows - Sun Also Rises (which is where the audio track came from) and Legend M (Moa's 20th birthday) - thing is, these two shows were held 1 week apart back in 2019 so they almost certainly would have used the same stage and setup and for Megitsune at least the same Avenger (Kano, not Momoko). Still I'm going to guess the vast bulk of the video comes from Sun Also Rises with just enough shots from Legend M mixed in to get Amuse to let it through (I'm also going to guess most of the Legend M shots were crowd or Kamis and not the girls) But that is just my speculation (I own neither concert so I could not begin to say which shots come from which show).
Looks like Yokohama concert from a couple of years ago. Audio is live but may be from another gig. Which would make it a compilation, I guess. Otr maybe the word compilation turns amuse's gaze away from it. Only the Fox God knows. 🦊🤟🤟🦊
They are playing in my city, Sydney. Big venue where, Black Sabbath and Queen played , so this serious venue.. june 9th @$120 for standing room. Ouch !
I'm up for Babymetal May 🤣🤣 Some of the compilation videos list on the description where they took the video and audio from. in this case: Audio: BABYMETAL AWAKENS: THE SUN ALSO RISES Video: BABYMETAL AWAKENS: THE SUN ALSO RISES BABYMETAL ARISES: BEYOND THE MOON LEGEND M It used video from only 2 shows of the same era, so same costumes, and he was good at cutting and pasting together everything! And since it was recent, if it hadn't been a compilation, this reaction would have been blocked xD Su mentioned that she believes she hasn't fully mastered this song yet, even if it's from the first album! She said it's one of the most difficult for her to sing live! She always uses this song to do sound check and to warm up :)
Dear King of Spain 🤴 , a really well done complation as said 2 shows but they good at it . Just enough to throw Amuse off . This song is so good live every bit as good as you just witnessed and yes very loud 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
I can confirm that the video is a compilation, it's just two different similar shows. As BABYMETAL choreographs everything to a tee (except Call & Response), putting these videos together isn't the worst. The only thing that needs real attention is when cuts between different concert footage is made. On another note, sometimes the best moments from some concerts are cut out to make (more) seamless compilation.
2 live performances mixed together. 8 days apart, 2 venues, similar (almost identical) stages and both with Kano Fujihira. One can tell the venues apart if one looks at the crowd arrangement: One is an arena (people seated upstairs) the other an exhibition hall (everybody standing on the same level).
Yeah, this is a weird compilation, more often than not you see Yui pop up in these and the venue varies a lot more... and yeah, most babymetal comps are truly amazing
It's not weird. There are actually a lot more of these types of compilations out there. It's just that people blissfully go about recommending the absolute worst compilations on UA-cam when there are some channels that make absolute masterpieces in editing.
I am one of the folks who discovered Babymetal from reactions, and they have got actual money from me (not just views). I am sure there are many more like me. So really it's pretty stupid of Amuse to do what they do, even without considering how it affects reactors. I'm glad people have found ways around it, but I'm sure David could do without the extra stress!
First of all, if I had to show BABYMETAL to someone I would definitely tell them to listen to Megitsune and watch this performance because I think the theory that the person who uploaded this video put "Live Compilation" was just to avoid Amuse ahshshs . Secondly, people who have seen BABYMETAL live and Megitsune can't drive them crazy then the band is definitely not for them, there is no song more fun to listen to than Megitsune. It's definitely one of their best songs, I don't understand how there are people who don't jump when Su tells them to jump.
By the way, I cannot believe the requester gave live compilation video and asked to react in terms of "live performance". I always criticize a lot of "careless" requests of Babymetal fans, but this is not only careless, but also thoughtless.
I think they do that on purpose to avoid blocking, also this compilation is one of the best kind, it's two shows that really similar to each other like Legend MG day 1- day 2
Compilations come in all disguises. For me all equally abhorrent. AMUSE and other record companies block reactions on UA-cam. Always have, always will. As you say $1 to watch is a very fair price. I actually wish that many reaction channels had to charge people to see them. It would soon rid us of the head nod, say nothing, like & subscribe wally's. Despite what they say they are making their reactions in the hope of making money and if you can't make money through UA-cam reactions, by far the majority of other reactions channels will be in the same boat. I know that is a generalisation and people will probably ignore what I have written anyway but wouldn't be easier to pay a nominal fee and be able to watch a quality reaction? Thank you for your Megitsune reaction. I would argue this compilation from two performances is in not in any way as good as other live performances I have seen of this song.
True baby metal fan here. 👉🦊👈🤘🤘thank you for your score. When you started I was thinking it would be lower from your reaction. I love this song very much. It was my first from them. Then down the foxhole I went. Like I’ve started before nemophilia did this and I thought it was an original from them. Then typed it in again to watch and baby metal came. Thank you again for doing another baby metal I enjoy watching you and your wife too. For your reaction rants and review. Keep up the great work. Oh and also I did enjoy lovebites. Holy war kicks a$$. Band maid is another one I enjoy. If ever please check out Junna. I get tips watching her. She’s really a bad a$$ drummer. She does incredible on dragon force through the fire and flames. Stay metal everyone. Take care David and wife. Also fans here 🤘🤘
Every band and artist you've mentioned, I've done a lot of reactions to on the channel. I even did a reaction Junna doing the DragonForce song on the drums. Definitely worth checking out.
Oh and also David. I will be in Orlando September 2. At baby metal show and doing everything I’ve learned lol. Hope you and wife get chance to see live. Like you’ve stated before. 👍
Very cool!!! Babymetal has many compilation videos on youtube. Compilations are more likely to not be blocked. The band uses tracks, it's very constant, that's good for the edits. In many it is easy to see that they are different shows because they are from different years, by the clothes you can see that easily. Others use performances after the costumes are predominantly black, so it's easier to think it's the same show.
I should have said react to the Trilogy of Lights first one is Starlight dedicated to the late guitarist Mikio Fujioka who fell to death on observation deck while stargazing. Second one is Shine a beautiful balland with Su amazing vocal, some says it about former member Yui. Third is the epic Arcadia which mean the band is going foward to the future.
I don't think compilation videos should be allowed to get through.. because even though this one is really well done, there are also some very jarring ones out there that do not suit your review style at all. If it's a compilation made because AMUSE are happy with it being on yt vs the original performance.. then I'd rather just see you review the TRUE performance on your patreon, really
@@allegorical I'm sure, but given the point of this is to review the performance then you will have half the footage not technically matching the contiguous live audio. And of course the two performances may be very similar given the choreography and coordinated band timing. But the video alone from each of those performances could have been reacted to instead.. if they are all really similar then pick the best
@@Wagoo If you take any concert Blu-ray, they are all compilations of different cameras recording the same concert, stitched together to make a seamless video. If it is timed to match, it is matching the contiguous live audio. It may not be of the exact same concert, but who really cares about that when the whole thing is seamless? The whole point of the compilation is to allow it to go up on YT.
@@allegorical if you are seeing multiple different camera angles of the _same_ performance synced to the live audio, then that is live. I don't put it past AMUSE to mess about on the odd occasion should there be some slip up in the concert they are making a BR for, but it's not the status quo. Generally you are seeing the live performance. Look, I get that this compilation is very well edited.. and it may be great for general reaction channels as they can get it up on youtube. But I don't think it's appropriate for _this_ reaction channel. As mentioned David can just view the original single performance from BR source or such.. and if it's blocked then that's what his patreon is for. $1 entry is not a big deal, probably half of the BABYMETAL reactions on the channel you have to see via that route already. It's similar for the recent official song videos where it's just the album audio synced to a live performance - much better for this reaction channel to just feed him the live performance if available.
no, that's definitely not the Budokan. Even the Avenger is different. The original video listed in its description where they took it: Audio: BABYMETAL AWAKENS: THE SUN ALSO RISES Video: BABYMETAL AWAKENS: THE SUN ALSO RISES BABYMETAL ARISES: BEYOND THE MOON LEGEND M
Who posted this your Majesty. How rude. haha, I didn't see the compilation either. How about a title for me? Duke, even count would be good. Audio: BABYMETAL AWAKENS: THE SUN ALSO RISES Video: BABYMETAL AWAKENS: THE SUN ALSO RISES BABYMETAL ARISES: BEYOND THE MOON LEGEND M
who? Is one of five channels I recommend to reactors concerned about copyright issues. They feature high quality compilations of BabyMetal LIVE performances using LIVE audio from one concert seamlessly edited into footage of numerous concerts. The others channels are: Kurokiitsunesama ferr For The Fox God K.S. 8.7 huh? In my opinion you are falling victim to the same problem that other reactors have……taking for granted the talent, energy and crowd control that these young ladies and their Kami’s pull off. Disappointed is an understatement. Again my opinion only.
As other's have said 2 different nights. The ONLY thing I could see different was Su's hair. It is a little more sweaty looking here and there. It's dry, then sweaty, then dry again. So I bet they played it in different spots during the 2 shows. Great performances either way. 🤘🦊🤘

Wth
It's 2 performances of the same era, put well together.
They have just added a 2nd LA show so hope you can get there.
that channel always puts what show the audio is from and what shows the video are from in the description if u are curious! this one in particular has footage from just 2 different shows that were about a week apart i believe with obviously very similar stage set ups
Larga vida al Rey 😂
Megitsune legend 1997 is a single live performance

🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Great one David, thank you.
I’m totally with you; live compilations are stupid. I really do not see the point.
Ahhh I was waiting for the part where David talks about the crowd interaction but I think he forgot to talk about that for once! I'm sure it was accounted for in the final score :D.
I hope Amuse stays away from you in the future, your Babymetal reactions are great :)
Ouch !
I'm up for Babymetal May 🤣🤣
Some of the compilation videos list on the description where they took the video and audio from.
in this case:
Audio:
BABYMETAL AWAKENS: THE SUN ALSO RISES
Video:
BABYMETAL AWAKENS: THE SUN ALSO RISES
BABYMETAL ARISES: BEYOND THE MOON LEGEND M
It used video from only 2 shows of the same era, so same costumes, and he was good at cutting and pasting together everything!
And since it was recent, if it hadn't been a compilation, this reaction would have been blocked xD
Su mentioned that she believes she hasn't fully mastered this song yet, even if it's from the first album! She said it's one of the most difficult for her to sing live! She always uses this song to do sound check and to warm up :)
🦊🤘🐺
Your work on these compilations is much appreciated. I wish more people would suggest yours for reactions.
2 live performances mixed together. 8 days apart, 2 venues, similar (almost identical) stages and both with Kano Fujihira.
One can tell the venues apart if one looks at the crowd arrangement: One is an arena (people seated upstairs) the other an exhibition hall (everybody standing on the same level).
it is 2 different shows i think back to back nights at the same venue
I was waiting for this since Road of Resistance reaction. One of their primes. Thank you.

I agree. He needs a official BM advisor to get the best videos!
I think they do that on purpose to avoid blocking, also this compilation is one of the best kind, it's two shows that really similar to each other like Legend MG day 1- day 2
try reacting to sometthing different :) rivers in the desert persona 5 ost
@@THEDavidHeretic thank you for your time I will definitely check out Junna. I missed that one Have a great day David 🤘👉🦊👈
Would loved to see you react to Arkadia live. Lot of double bass and tapping guitars plus Su's amazing vocal.
Arkadia is on the Patreon.
@@barneynorton the full trilogy has already been done.
It’s a compilation of fan cam and the pro shot footage at the show during the song . Compilation may have a different definition in Japanese
No fan cams in this one.
I saw a few shots from in the crowd and those are usually fan cams
@@lonerangerak5232 There are Babymetal concerts where they film from the crowd. This happens during the Five Fox Festivals as well.
Male choruses in the most femenine metal song made ever, that has to be a great achievement! They will tour in the US. Don't miss them!
😁🤘🤘🤘
Good
Sore! Sore! Sore, Sore!
Anything from "who?" is gold. "For The Fox God" channel is just as good. There really are bad compilations though.
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Why, TF, are people providing compilations??? No offense to DH, but once I see that, I don’t bother watching the reaction 😐
With Babymetal it is maybe the only way for reactors to react to this amazing band/group.
Looks like Budokan...maybe multiple nights of the same staging. (they did 10 shows last year.)
no, that's definitely not the Budokan. Even the Avenger is different. The original video listed in its description where they took it:
Audio:
BABYMETAL AWAKENS: THE SUN ALSO RISES
Video:
BABYMETAL AWAKENS: THE SUN ALSO RISES
BABYMETAL ARISES: BEYOND THE MOON LEGEND M
This is not Budokan 10 from 2021. All 10 shows features Momoko as the avenger.
@@BlackArr0w Two great shows btw, and less known.
@@allegorical I believe he was talking about the 2021 Budokan, and not the 2014 one. So it's 10 shows xD
@@BlackArr0w I was actually referring to the Sun and Moon concerts. They are just great concerts that get eclipsed by Budokan.

8.7 huh? In my opinion you are falling victim to the same problem that other reactors have……taking for granted the talent, energy and crowd control that these young ladies and their Kami’s pull off. Disappointed is an understatement.

Why react to the same song again?
As other's have said 2 different nights. The ONLY thing I could see different was Su's hair. It is a little more sweaty looking here and there. It's dry, then sweaty, then dry again. So I bet they played it in different spots during the 2 shows. Great performances either way. 🤘🦊🤘
Yeah, I only caught one difference from the space in her bangs, and it's within one second so I had to check multiple times.
