Nothing about cards is about collectors. Distributors that open your packs and call themselves breakers don't care about collectors they care about markup and reselling
I’m tired of this FOMO and the ability for resellers being able to hold people hostage because of FOMO. I didn’t even bother trying to get a box because I knew all the bots, resellers, and FOMOers were going to crash the site. I think I prefer the days of the true collectors with less chaos even if my cards are only worth $20 instead of $100.
I was able to get 5 of the single boxes, was notified by my cook group that they went live at like 11:58 went on the cases were sold out but was able to checkout out the 5
A disaster for buyers who aren't breakers with an inside track, yes. I doubt Topps considers it a disaster if they immediately sold out. One pack per box? Why even bother with a box? Because $100 per pack sounds too outrageous? Are the odds that good that each pack has at least $100 worth of cards? Seems like one pack in a box is just begging for CT scans. Ultra-modern wax is a mystery to me.
Thank you for bringing this up! Should have know I wasn’t going to be able to get a box or two to rip, but I got my hopes up….crazy to see how these boxes are reselling for 500 on eBay & other places hours after it went live.
I missed the release. Don't understand the popularity. They don't look good to me. The markup on the secondary market is just ridiculous. I would have tried maybe 2 boxes but I'm not paying $400 for a $100 box
I’m new to card collecting. Yesterday was going to be my first shot at a drop. The same thing happened to me where I was able to add it to cart then it crashed. I would’ve been fine if it said “sold out” and take my losses but what happened exasperated the confusion and anger for about an hour. It was really disheartening. I thought Funko was bad 🤷🏻♂️
People always put too much thought into releases and why companies do things a certain way. They just don't care. Topps (and others) can put up whatever limited thing for sale in any way they want and it will sell. That's it. They don't have to care. By the time people are angry, the company will already have made the money. And the same people complaining now will also line up to buy whatever they come out with next.
Don’t get me started on this BS. I was on that website at 11:59 and this site didn’t end up working until 2:25 pm and basically nobody was able to get a box. None of the buy buttons worked for any of the products. Why do they choose to NOT use the EQL system on these high demand products? It’s so dumb
Topps should have learned that now they have all these licenses and popular products that their site can't handle any traffic. similar to the days of Project 2020
They cant handle what they have now but are about to 3x to 4x the amount of products they put out over the next few years with all the licenses they picked up.
I saw this happening in advance and didnt bother looking to buy any boxes. I will not buy any from any resellers. Might buy singles but probably won't. Topps will continue to do this shit until we stop buying them.
Had one in my cart 3 minutes into the drop and it just kept crashing and crashing, so annoyed at Topps and I commented as much on their FB post letting them know- like they’ll care…
Hold up. If they thought it was going to be popular than why would they only charge $100? They love money. It's a new product and they don't know what market price is
Did you look at the cards. It's pretty self-explanatory. Couple of base cards with a meaningless serial number. Secondary market is over 400 now, so on release same people will get it
WWE is so unpopular they moved Monday night raw to Netflix. They have soap opera characters and it's not entertaining. The attitude era was the end of wrestling.
ct scan those boxes like a pro when they going to fix that shiit only reason why its sold out is cause people buy then scan then dump it back on the market PERIOD
The sooner people realize Topps doesn't care about collectors the better. Everyone should have learned their lesson with the Ohtani 50/50.
Nothing about cards is about collectors. Distributors that open your packs and call themselves breakers don't care about collectors they care about markup and reselling
One word--Fanatics!
I think your EQL theory is correct bc they NEVER use it for the hottest products.
I’m tired of this FOMO and the ability for resellers being able to hold people hostage because of FOMO. Who is going to CT scan boxes like this? It's just parallels.
Its because Fanatics is in on the back end too.. They "resell" their own product.

glad to hear i wasnt the only one that had that problem. also glad to find out later it was a presale and wont ship til march.
I missed the release. Don't understand the popularity. They don't look good to me. The markup on the secondary market is just ridiculous. I would have tried maybe 2 boxes but I'm not paying $400 for a $100 box
How about Topps release some of these non sports card products to retail? Doesnt have to be a freaking premium set all the time ether.
Made it through payment and crashed on processing. So close
It was very frustrating. The fact that cases sold out before it even dropped is insane. Topps really pissed a lot people off day 1 of the uesr
Its not Topps anymore.
@ Well it is still Topps even if fanatics is the parent company.
Bots
Man I picked up one of those top loader binders you linked to.. those are Dope
They are great.
@ good looking out my dude

These were a crazy flip. Boxes going on ebay for 5-700
Topps knows exactly what they are doing and it shows.
Thanks for sharing!
Is this a sign of things to come with Topps moving back into the basketball space?

This plus losing my boxes while I was trying to pay when I was checking out was ridiculous. Your cart should be secure so you can actually pay.
Topps should have learned that now they have all these licenses and popular products that their site can't handle any traffic. similar to the days of Project 2020
I heard lot of people got stuff when it magically appeared again at like 2pm. Total mess. Marvel to the moon. 😅
Topps didn't even wait 1 day into 2025 to throw wrenches into NEO's plans 😅
They cant handle what they have now but are about to 3x to 4x the amount of products they put out over the next few years with all the licenses they picked up.
Yeah wax 2.0 already mass produced and to many 1of1s etc.
Remind me trying to get Van Gough pikachu at Pokemon center, I had to wait months before I got my copy, they need to limit sells per address.
I saw this happening in advance and didnt bother looking to buy any boxes. I will not buy any from any resellers. Might buy singles but probably won't. Topps will continue to do this shit until we stop buying them.
Is sold out instantly because of bots. That's why I'm not in hobby no more. Resellers etc
Had one in my cart 3 minutes into the drop and it just kept crashing and crashing, so annoyed at Topps and I commented as much on their FB post letting them know- like they’ll care…
I just need to know should I get my Tom glavine greg maddux & chipper jones & smoltz rookie cards 🎴 graded 🤯

lol @ "sit here and hate life". Good stuff, man.
Can’t wait for this shit company to take over WWE 😒
WWE is so unpopular they moved Monday night raw to Netflix. They have soap opera characters and it's not entertaining. The attitude era was the end of wrestling.
@ You’re… I mean… a raging moron. Netflix paid WWE $5 billion to move onto their platform. By all metrics, WWE is the most popular it’s ever been.
EQL=HYPE Machine
imagine being a grown man and spending actual money that you worked to earn on a product like this🤣
What the hell is EQL?
Lottery system
Worst website in the industry
Sounds like someone is butt hurt they didnt get any?
Complete 🤡 show. no excuse not to use EQL.
EQL is terrible
The market is going to crash soon 😂
