Definitely get the soil sample done there, id be surprised if that ground didn't need a good shot of lime.

We got a couple of our fields soil sampled years ago, and some did need lime.

You have to soil test to know the fertility when you have lime and fertiliser correct you have cleaner land the rush only grow on poor ground

Hi, I also have rushes and want to get rid.
Just wondering if you have any thoughts on how this chemical affects soil life ( microbes, worms, fungi etc)
My thoughts is that it can't be great for them ( or just wipe them out)and if used over time our soil will become even more dead, anaerobic and compacted which will lead to more rushes, just wondering what you think?

To be honest, I haven't really thought about that until you brought me up

Worth a thought anyway, I'm 50 and have watched fields that didn't have rushes when I was a child, (silage meadow in the 80s)full of them now. I'm thinking 50/60 years of chemical fertilizer and sprays, ( docks, rushes)over the years have killed soil life ( worms aerate the soil)
      Thats my hunch anyway. @@IrishFarmer

Rushes are a big problem in Fermanagh too. Have you tried topping with the MF 135 on the duals?

We have topped with the 135 and duals years ago. Even with the duals it wouldn't get into that field, we'll have to wait for spring or summer. If we got a fairly good spring I would be tempted to try the 135 and duals topping it.

Contains a natural biodegradable waterproofing polymer. Shower proof when spray is touch dry. Rain fast approximately 30 minutes after spray has dried, sunlight is required during this period for the polymer to set.
