Aaron Taylor Johnson's character was one of those rare occasions where I didn't care what kind of cruel punishment he got, had absolutely no sympathy for him and Aaron Taylor Johnson did such a great job capturing that.

Lots of characters out there who got what they’re coming to them.
Tom Ford is a tour de force. His acumen for making films is exemplary.
Amy Adams IS an artist...a brilliant one.

Aaron is such a mature and humble guy and take risks by playing a variety of roles. The role in this film was quite dark so it was so dramatic but done well.
I don't think he is mature or humble at all but it was a truly annoying character he brought to life, well played

If you don't want to hear any spoilers, do not watch this interview. This interviewer went way too far in talking about major plot points. Even the actors asked him to stop revealing the twists.

Tom is so fortunate to have parents that just let him be. He is amazing! I think his son will grow up to be an awesome person, too.

Insightful film experience. I grew up Ford's way. Family members who just let you 'be.' No legacy of expectations, demands, or others' shaping you. It's a rare gift. If you were given that, cherish it every day.
This film had me not only on the edge of my seat, but in tears, and for days after...so compeling and incredible performances all round
I’m post first watch, about to watch it for a second time. I think this is going to be in my head and heart for a while too! You know a movie has a strong impact when you almost feel disoriented when it is over. I literally sat stunned for a moment, then went into my daughters room and kept telling her how important she is to me. So powerful.
Side note: I can only say this about a few movies. I saw Evita on screen in 1996 when I was about 20, and I left the theater crying and - I know it sounds dumb- but I was driving home with my best friend & I kept saying “I can’t believe she’s dead..” over and over. Really well made movie have that magical power.
Michael Shannon was my favorite role, he was so rugged, pious, tough and handsome with a darling southern accent. This is another extraordinary work of his.
Yes, I think it would have been good without him but he lifted it and made it great.
He's so much more then that. He's Edwards subconcious, he belives in Edward, pushes him to seek justice, isnt afraid to do what ever it takes, break rules and spits on Ray saying "I like it here, its more relaxing" 😅😅

Four of the greatest artists of this era on stage. My mind would explode. I love Tom’s world weary, American/Euro accent. Amy Adams is incredible in this movie. I don’t think anyone would have had the same touch she gave, but she did remind me at times of Debra Messing, who is a highly underrated dramatic actress.
Man Aaron Taylor Johnson performance should've gotten some awards.
well, he got the Golden Globe for best supporting actor. Definitely his biggest award to date

Greetings from Netflix US. Ford's cautionary tale puts a laser beam on the need to pay attention to one's inner self. And the consequences of being impatient, regretful, and reflective when it's just too late. Terrific thriller about the human condition, ty!

While Tom's said he dislikes flip flops and sandals in any occasion, what he does like is when people are comfortable and confident in their clothing, no matter how badly fitting it is, so I think you might be projecting
On the last question Michael Shannon looks at the others like "What are you talking about? The intensity comes from me. I AM my characters."

I didnt knew Tom Ford makes films too.. as I read his name on the screen I was really interested and like, that couldnt be soo good.. but the title of the film was so fascinating.. and till the end I was shocked... how really really good this piece of art was.. I still love it and will always love this film because at the end it was the story of a violent broken heart..

She went on to clarify that it wasn't him, per se--playing Sidney just took a serious emotional toll on her, and Russell's intensity--which hadn't been a problem for Amy during "The Fighter"...just added to all that pressure.
I remember her saying that and that’s when I became a huge fan. She is such a brilliant actress and I think the work must affect you or you can’t effect the work. I guess some can, but the greats like Vivien Leigh, Joan Fontaine & Jody Foster have said similar things.
Every character in a novel is a part, subconscious or not, of the writer's personality. Someone famous said this and I forget who, but I totally agree.

if this movie is deeply personal to Tom Ford, you can see that maybe TF could be Susan...that he has that sleek and polished life. but i hope susan isn't him...i remember hearing about how he fell for his husband. But this movie goes so deep because it makes you evaluate your life and what is really important. Susan did turn into her mother....and it's very sad how she treated Edward.

Hard Boiled Entertainment its not the same actress actually.. and she certainly did have Edwards abortion, that daughter is supposed to be not his but her current husbands'
Agreed. As a curious, reflective writer Edward had an intuitive sensibility. He perceived she was becoming like her mother due to her fear of the unknown. That's why we see him @hospital after the abortion. Yes, he got revenge. But through the novel she was forced 2 confront her decisions: A true self that Edward knew she could have realized but she was shallow. And it was too late. Best Psychological Film of the Year!
Nocturnal Animals can use immorality on the basis that the immorality can never be used by reality's origin, while the movie is also synonymous with reality's origin.

Aaron has no hint of his English accent in this role. Reminds me of uncanny way other English actors ape American regional accents. Gary Oldman being the most wondrous of them all IMO. When American actors try for an English accent or Aussie, they fail miserably.

Tom Ford, what a pretencious useless director. This movie sucks. the only thing interesting about it is the "artistic" aura in the production design and Michael Shannon performance.The plot is non existant: a woman reading a book and waiting for a reunion that never happens, whilst the story in the book has little or nothing to do with her relation with her ex husband. The acting direction is pathetic. seems like a mexican telenovela. But look at him: hes a "contemporary culture contributor".

I just went to the cinema last night and honestly this film was an amazing experience, I will watch it again, but the emotions of the first time are irreplaceable!
brilliant movie, just brilliant - everything is perfect and serves its role- from script, visuals, actors, directing to ideas, symbolism, message. it is so raw, intensive, intelligent and thought-provoking, I am absolutely thrilled!

Good interviewer, and one of the best movies of the decade. A lot of talent on that stage, including Ford who now has two excellent films to his credit. Shannon seems to be gaining more well-deserved recognition, and Adams is without question one of the best actors of her generation.
Damn,is it just me or was that uncomfortable to watch!..the host seemed rushed/too critic & overly pushing with his questions.I could clearly see their awkward stares..

my sister invited me to see a movie with her ,and i said great when i saw amy adams. after about 30 min of watching nocturnal animals i asked her ' when are the aliens coming?' :)))
I just watched this movie and adored it... I want to watch it again the next day or two to pick up on some more things, cause this was a great thought-provoker and haven't seen a movie like this in a long time.

Interesting that Michael Shannon's character is categorised as one of the good guys without discussion. He's a man with a gift for violence and quite scary, knows how to manipulate and threaten. And a vigilante with a badge who can coerce another to murder.
Sure I enjoy the revenge, but maybe that's not good.

When Tom Ford joined Gucci in the 90s, it was about to go bankrupt. Tom brought Gucci back from dead and made it a multi-billion dollar brand. They even bought YSL. One of his legendary stories.
