If a Medicare recipient has the right budget in place to afford a Medicare supplement, as a broker I always suggest medsups.
I think medicare advantage is great for those healthy individuals who are really tight on budget

I am 77. Enrolled in a Medigap plan F, a plan that is not available to new enrollees. It has been awesome coverage and worth the extra $$. I have been a patient at Mayo Clinic in Florida. Next year, 2024, Medicare Advantage plans will not cover care at Mayo because “Mayo only has one location in Florida.” I buy a separate plan for drugs.

Thanks for sharing your experience! Medigap plans work great for many people in situations similar to yours.

Thank you for all your good teaching. There are 2 areas that are never fully explained: Dental insurance (separate policies) and foreign travel. I have the best dental plan offered but it only amounts to a discount really. Need more coverage. How? AlsoI have part G but routinely buy additional travel medical insurance for each trip. I think I've been buying too much. Will you be doing videos on these topics?

Thanks for watching and for the comment! We do have a podcast episode about dental insurance in more detail if you are able to check that out, but we will hopefully talk about it in future videos. What plan do you currently have? Travel insurance is excellent to buy when you are traveling out of the country, but if you feel you are buying too much, check out GeoBlue since is one of our "go-to" options here is a link to their coverage in case it helps: www.geobluetravelinsurance.com/

Thank you- I’ll check out the podcast. I have Northeast Delta Dental’s top plan. It seems dentists have a great lobby against any kind of useful coverage. Even a checkup is still over $85

Again, thank you. I listened to the podcast. Looks like my only option is to buy additional policies for dental. I'll research more. And regarding travel medical, thank you for the referral; I'll check it out. I've been using IMG. Not clear on what my PlanG already covers for international travel, and what sort of gaps I should fill with additional travel coverage.

The info given in this video is useful but it does not really answer the question, are supplement plans still worth it?

Unfortunately, that answer is up to the individual watching it!

As an independent agent I will have to disagree. There is no one size fits all. Talk to a broker you trust and they can help with the best plan for you

How to find a reputable insurance broker

OMG - Advantage plans denied actual procedures, and temporary nursing home necessities etc. Think about how much money they spend on advertising all the money they give to their insurance agents. This is just like Las Vegas….Who’s the ultimate winner! Are you feeling lucky then choose an Advantage Plan… know you’re gambling with your life and future money!

How can we gind a reputable insurance broker?

      Here are a few options:
      1. Click this link and it will connect you with us if we work in your state, or with another broker that we trust: gmedicareteam.com/map/
      2. Ask for referrals from friends or family members who are also on Medicare
      3. Google "Medicare insurance agents" or "Medicare brokers" near you and find one with a good amount of positive google reviews.
