I like how many creators now made changes to how they sound according to where their character is, Echoes in caves and muffled when underwater.

Dang, I hope it gets a chapter 2 where we can kill many mini Charles that slowly gets stronger as we progress the game. And with the success this game had, I'm sure their budget will increase thus more improvements to the game itself.
Edit: I discovered a while that only one person made this, I'm saying this so no more comment address this.
They should give the player a handgun or at least a meele weapon for the walking sections. A shovel maybe?

@@oO0Xenos0Oo Then just have a meele weapon as a last resort, it's going to be hard cause the cultists have guns, but at least you can sneak up on them.

I don't know if anyone already commented on this but, if you noticed, at the end when the bridges explode, when charles is in mid air, you can see his expression changing tha may indicate that he has feelings. I find it as a nice detail the dev added.

@Kehath it’s still satisfying to see a demonic killing machine feel fear. Especially when its us who caused it to feel that way
What if the mask guys aren't actually cultists, but the masks are actually made from the other Charles' faces and by wearing them, Charles doesn't attack them unless he goes Hell mode. To coexist peacefully with Charles is just a matter of wearing the masks and keep him placated while ensuring that the eggs are left undisturbed.

Makes sense. Pretty much as soon as I learned about the cultists I thought “hey I doubt that they really worship a spider train that is trying to kill them, maybe they are hiding the eggs and wear the masks for a different reason” and then later on it turns out that reason is that the spider train turns into a spider train from hell

Someone who's scared of tiny spiders, watched Pennywise 1 and 2 at 3 am and got traumatized by someguy making Thomas scary. He may have a heart attack but it'll be hilarious
IGP is like your typical horror movie protagonist. Starting off scared of his own shadow and screaming and everything that moves, slowly upgrading his weapons and abilities and at the end he's like bring on the f****** world I can take it. That's the reason I love this channel so much :-)

Everything about that final battle was phenomenal! From the horror that is Charles, to the music, to the pacing, to IGP somehow managing to do everything.

Another youtuber called Fooster does the same thing. He has his voice echo when he's in large spaces, adds a radio sound effect when he's playing multiplayer and is far away from his friend, adds in music to when he drives cars and muffles it when he gets out.
Charles landing face-first on those spikes was so damn SATISFYING!
Just for immersion, I love that IGP changes the way his voice sounds depending on the environment. I wish more creators would do that

@Trash Panda003 personally I think some of his exaggeration is what makes him so entertaining. He has quite a lot of authentic reactions, and when he goes over board just a little bit, I think it adds on to the video.

For the lore of Charles' name, I like to imagine that somebody saw a spider train and tried to warn everybody, but this one jerk said, "Sure, John, there's an 'evil spider train,' bet it's called something really sinister like... Charles! Pffft! Hahahaha! Man, get the fuck out of here, John." And then, like a day later that jerk is running through town screaming, "It's real! Charles is real!" At least that's my head cannon.

Man, for a meme game, that was one intense boss fight. The devs really put the effort where it counts most. The NPCs and whatnot weren't anything to write home about, but the face-offs against Charles were memorable, and they managed to make the sound of a distant train whistle become a threatening omen. Neat game; thanks for sharing your playthrough!

I'm happy to see that the game is getting such a positive reception. The work of a single guy who documented his entire progress throughout his youtube channel, who showed us his struggles, his challenges, and now the game is receiving a good amount of praises and love. A simple and fun little game.
This random game has better caves than skyrim special with updated textures via mod support on ultra settings. Lol lovely

I absolutely love all the details in the editing. The game is so insane, especially when you think about the fact that its made by one person, I know the creator said he's not planing on working on it anytime soon but I still really hope that we'll get some future content of this
i can never get over igp changing his mic to become echoed when entering mines, large room, etc. it just makes the emersion and over all feel so cool

This game is crazy the most intense horror game that i've ever seen in my entire life and it's gonna continue there might be choo choo Charles two. The ending cutscene was epic and it game me chills.
You need to play more games my guy. I mean…. Have you played a Dead Space? Not even the best example, but objectively better then this, and this game isn’t even bad. That should tell you you’re missing a lot of great games

Imagine this game moving on a huge open world, because the eggs would hadge. I'd love to see it as an RPG, moving from train to train.
Concept like OG 2d Earn to Die with dark souls elements.
It's just one of ideas that will never happen, just because how hard it would have to be managed. But seeing a cave full of eggs makes me feel like there could be part II.
Throughout the whole boss fight and ending, I was just imagining Warren's body inside of the train. Plus the impaling and such.
That must be one nasty hell of a mess to clean up...
It's just the small things that makes these videos so good. By just adding the ambience of the echoing cave I feel so much more interested and involved in the game.
Loved it, but Imagine instead when you kill charles at the end you're inside your train, as you celebrate your body starts growing in size and new arms come from the rib cage and you start filling up the space inside, you become the next choo-choo charles.

the added detail of when you enter the mines and your voice echos just seems so good so props to IGP's editor or IGP

Choo choo charles(well the normal version)seems like an instance of SCP i forgot its number but its when inanimate objects or dead creatures(rarely) grow spider legs and kill everyone around them
While I kept hitting Charles, I just kept using the rocket and Bob but it was hell. Also Charle's theme is so enjoyable even if you're near death.
The echo of IGP's voice in the cave is ON POINT!!!!

I wish the red paint made the train go faster, and the purple made Charles chase you less often. Nice little reference. Maybe an achievement called "Three Times as Fast" for a Mobile Suit Gundam reference (Char's Zaku II was supposedly three times as fast as a normal Zaku II, but in reality it was around 30% faster due to customizing and fine tuning the thrusters).

They could add some super weapons expand the map and make it so you have to kill an army of Charles and a final boss which could be a huge Charles that layed the eggs... (that is just an idea though)

I like how immersive his voice sounds, such as echoing in the caves. also, charles feels like bendy from BATIM. a recurring enemy that's probably the most menacing, is smiling, gets summoned at the end and mutates for the final boss

This game was absolutely awesome! The idea of a spider train seemed funny at first but the game is actually scary.
One really bad thing about this game, leaving the train, you have arsenal of guns as you're suppose to explore, but no way to protect yourself outside the train, Which seems to be a real deal breaker for an exploration style shooty shooty bang bang game
I love how they basically lined up a sequel because this is the best game I've seen in a LONG time since Read Dead Redemption 2

This game really is kinda brutal. The cultists aren't invincible, and they're regular people. But the player can kill them all the same.
Charles was fkn BUSY. Now we know where he went after every fite! Makin more BABEHS. also the "scribbles" design made it look so much like an art piece, especially at the end fight scene.

That game is great! I need way much more lore of the island, creatures and habitants. Just the ending make me ask if the habitants are not the ones that want Charles to get stronger. They are not attack by him. The "cultists" at the end seems that they don't want you to get Charles stronger. There is ghosts and monster in the lake that villagers seems to more or less live with them. Just a game in that world where is need for a monster hunter is very cool.
Some people have mentioned that there's a journal that talks about a "Gus the Bus" in the game. Do with that info what you will.
Well there's your answer for where Charles goes to heal. Damn that's a lot of eggs.
I gotta say the ending shot of the game where the credits roll. Is one of the best special effects shots I've seen. Done really well nice way to finish off the game.

Well if I can pick apart the lore a little, I think that the larva or lil demon babies of Charlie’s can/could fuse with whatever object.
So there could be a car spider, house spider, or whatever you can think of. As long as it has time to grow, it’ll basically fuse with it.

This was a super cool game to watch. It would have been really cool if the dead Charles just twitched ya know? It would set up suspense as if the eggs power just healed him death just enough to revive him to go to a new vessel
