Function over practicality? Looking at the Mosko Moto Nomad tank bag on my BMW GS1200 I wonder if this a keeper. What is your honest thought about the issue highlighted in the video? Please drop me a line here in the comments, as I like to know your thoughts on this.

I’ve had a Nomad on my KTM 1290 SA for two seasons. From what I’ve seen in this video, my Nomad contacts the bike in the same way as on the GS. After two years I’ve seen absolutely no scratching or scuffing of the paint. The bag is incredibly practical and compact, and the quality is first rate. If you ignore this product because you’re riding a GS I think you’ll be missing out. My opinion...

I don't worry to much about the scratches on my bike. Plenty there already. No I don't give up as the bag is exactly what I need. I'm sticking it out and come up with a solution.

Ive had the bag on my 2 year old GSA for a year now, the soft underbelly of the bag is fine, it doesnt scratch the tank.

I'm still using it. The only thing I don't like is the long straps on the back. Whould be nicer with some clips. May have go myself.

@@MOTOTravelUK I did see something last year, where a guy cut them short and fixed them in a different way, cant remember how he did it though. i use the long straps as carrying straps once clipped together with the upper straps/clips. ive not used the mesh carrying straps that are tucked away. And its a pitty the bag's not waterproof either.

@@michaelwilliams3861 Suppose we can't have it all. It is, after all, a ADV bag so waterproof should have been on the list, But then functionality goes out of the window. Well, I think I just have to make the most of it. I think I put on the GIVI bag mounting kit, so I have a choice. I think this needs a bit more procrastinating over it. 😁

Hi Stephan, I am in the market for a tank bag for my GS but after watching your super video I think I will go down the route of a tank lock type as I don’t want to damage my paint on her. As always thanks for sharing this idol and for your honesty. Cheers 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Hi Shane, thanks for your great comment. The Mosko is not for everyone. My old Givi was great but a big mess inside. I always preferred bags to be strapped on as they can handle the weight. If you don't have a lot of stuff you are fine with the tank lock type. For anything else and more capacity just go for the tradition type.

Hello Stephan, as I mentioned yesterday I love my Mosco duffle bag. Looking at this tank bag I don't think it is a keeper/for you! I really don't like the way it attaches! I have tried different tank bags and I always came back to my Touratech. I know it does not have all the pockets that the Mosko offers but I just love the way it attaches and who cares about scratches: its an adventure bike not a Starbucks/cafe racer!
Next for you maybe the Kriega!
    Cheers

Thanks for your honest review. I'm a big fan of everything Mosko Moto, have the Nomad and Reckless 80 bags plus a bunch of other stuff, all work great with my KTM 690.

The 690 is such a strong practical bike. Reminds me of my old XT500 from back then. Not in power but in the ability to go places.
      Great bike.

Hello Stephan, as I said yesterday I love my Mosko Moto duffle bag! As you mentioned today this tank bag is not the best for a BMW GS/A motorbike. The bag works great for stuffing things inside it. But the attachment is not good. We all read an try out different products that will hopefully fit our needs. Who really cares about scratches! Its and adventure bike that does not only go from one Starbucks to the other, sorry US coffee lovers. The way it attaches does not cut it for me. I have tried many products as we all do and I still think that Givi/new ones and Kriega have better tank bags. Personally I have been using a Touratech tank bag for the last 100, 000 miles and add no problems with it, i.e., the way it attaches and storage space. I never purchased the water proof cover and my stuff never got wet even in moon soon rains in what ever country I was in! Cheers

Hey Patrick, I think I have to put the bag up for sale as it really not cutting it. I'll have a look at the touratech bag. What a bummer. 👍😉 Cheers for your comment mate.

I use a Mosko Moto Nomad tank bag on my 1200 GSA. No issues so far. It is easy if you want to use a bicycle tire inner tube around the straps to keep scratches to a minimum. If you like the bag you will find a way to use it.
