@@dawa7267 to each consumer their own, but can you please explain to me why it’s just or fair for a company to be expected to provide content at no charge to millions, when that was never in their model or agreement? Sure, they simply looked the other way, but their agreement terms never gave express permission for users of different households to share their account access with one another.

...nor does it specifically *prohibit* sharing their account access with one another (uh, profiles?) We as consumers didn't look the other way because there was no other way to look. A $4.49B FY22 profit is apparently not enough.

@@dawa7267 when I said “no charge” I’m referencing the users that the account is being shared with, though they’re paying nothing to Netflix. Ex: If someone pays for the base subscription and shares their password 10 friends…the friends are in theory paying zero dollars and zeros cents. As I’m unfamiliar with those splitting the rate for use of the service. Even if they happen to be sharing your tier sub fee, that’s approximately $1.70 per household. Netflix hires content creators and produces quality content, if you don’t believe that to be the case and the $16.99 fee isn’t worth it to you…go to the lower subscription or cancel altogether as you said you would. But for those sharing their passwords with multiple friends and family members outside of their home, it is exploiting a lack of enforcement. Netflix may actually pick up a subscriber or two from some who lose their “free access”. Also, as for different profiles, they’re not taking that away, it just has to be a user of the same household, so far as I understand it. As long as I’ve been subscribing, the terms of service have always specified that it was for personal use and not to be shared with others outside of your own household. So, I think you may have just agreed to the terms without reading it thoroughly. We’re not in total disagreement though, if I visit family(out of town) for a weekend and I am using my own tablet, I’d hope to have continued support during that time. I’m just not sure that they’ll still allow the prolonged use of a different isp, and I think that is significantly changing the user agreement. So, there are definite concessions that I believe should be made or at least considered on their end. But I don’t believe that one person should be able to give out their password out to a multitude of non-paying viewers. It’s not ethical, whether or not Netflix is prospering. Anyhow, I respect your position, just feel that many have been exploiting the lack of enforcement for years.
Doubtful other platforms will follow suit, bc Netflix is about to become obsolete.

I think it's time to boycott netflix and go to hulu or some other platform.all my family is not in the same house but they are still my family and i'm still responsible for them. My daughter is in college she has little to no money so i'm not gonna ask her to pay for Netflix. My wife is tending to her father in his house because he's very ill and she's bored so she will watch netflix on our account. I believe everybody should just boycott netflix where the time being and maybe they will wake up and find out that there's better ways to do things

I just cancelled my account today. I paid to upgrade my account for 2 people so now they can't watch from a different location. They should make it easier for customers not harder.

No, within the same household is acceptable, as I understand it. However, it also depends on your sub tier. My family moved down to the most basic plan and therefore, if more than one user tries to use the service at once, it notifies the most recent that too many users are on the account. At which time, I just use one of my other streaming services in the interim.
They have limits on connected devices. On the standard plan it's 2. And there's only 5 profiles. Why they're trying to add more limits and make people pay is beyond me.
We own a cottage go there often in the summer that means I can’t watch Netflix there without having to pay extra forget it paying to much now for the crap they offer.Guessing we will cancel and look for another movie channel .
Netflix will be the streaming Blockbuster. I live part of the week at my mother's place, I won't be paying extra. Amazon Prime has way more bang for your buck and is cheaper. I get free shipping, Amazon Video, and free ebooks. Those are just the parts I use. I don't use Twitch, but it is included.
If they hadn't stupidly paid the Duke snd Duchess of lies $100 million dollars for the crap they put out, they wouldn't be in financial difficulty. I wonder if the password sharing backtrack was another bad decision by the same exec who thought a $100 million contract was a good idea. They probably could have gotten away with it when they had the monopoly, but there are cheaper options out there. I won't even pay $15, I am definitely not paying $20 when other streaming companies give me more for cheaper.

One thing I never understood about the younger generation is how resourceful they are watching new movies for free....canceled Netflix the other day and just learned new tricks from them......
Oh yeah, it’s honestly crazy how many websites are out there for free streaming like Soap2Day and 4Anime and all the other stuff out there. I currently can’t afford to pay for subscriptions so I just stream for free with a VPN. Much cheaper.
I refuse to pay more. If they actually go fwd with this, I will just cancel their services. I only allow my hubby and children access to my password. I have 2 kids in college, and I travel for dr appts and hospitalizations. If I can’t watch when I’m in the hospital, I’m done. I’ll just watch my other streaming services and if the other streaming services start this c*ap too, then I’ll be back to cable!!!!
For a company i would have to say they are acting dumb not everyone can afford so i made a profile for my mom signed into my acc for her and she can watch it bcz she cant afford it all this will do is make me leave netflix then they can cry over how much money they lost that way

All this forced Identity politics, the unnecessary lgbtq characters, all this is getting the viewers mad more and more each day.
