    Hello Luie,
I am very lucky. I think I was the first to watch this video :-) This is a very good choice. Because many of my friends use this thickness machine. I continue to use it because I bought another brand before. Dewalt is a very good choice. Best wishes. Thank you for the introduction and detailed information. I take your impressions into account. Great review on the planer Luie. What is really nice about it is having 3 blades. Most of those that size only have 2. I have the Ridged version and it only has 2. I feel this makes it even louder. I know when they get dull they really get loud.
Great idea having it on a stand with wheels. That is what I did as I do not use it that much.
But they do come in handy.
Enjoy the new addition to your shop.

They are very handy. I do not use it much but earlier this year it got a good work out because I made a new information desk for our church. the other got turned into a live streaming area.
What I want to get is a drum sander. It would be great for segment rings. It is a matter of room mostly. I would have to do what most guys hate to do...get rid of a different tool to make the space LOL.

Hi luie, I have this same model except I got mine second hand real cheap because it had issues the guy didn't know how to fix, here's some tips I've learned with mine,
1 keep the tables waxed, I use canning wax
2 watch plaining a lot of sappy wood like pine and cedar they tend to gum up your blade and effecting the performance of the machine
3 blow all the dust off after every use inside and out especially the threaded adjustment rods they tend to get gumed up only use a dry lube on them, I use canning wax
4 when the machine gets to the point that the wood is slipping under the rollers it's time to flip your blades, they are two sided, none adjustable and as far as I know they can't be shaped because of being none adjustable,
5 to avoid getting a crown wear pattern in your blade use the whole blade, meaning 1st pass push the wood though on the left side of the table 2nd pass use the middle 3rd pass use the right side of the table and so on this will help with even wear on the blades
6 I always mark squiggly lines on my boards to watch how even my machine is plaining the serfice my machine tends to plain the right side more then the left so as I adjust the depth I tend to turn the handle a 1/4 turn then I back it off 1/ 2 and that tends to even out my cuts
7 to help avoid the scipe u mentioned be sure to level your infeed and outfeed tables so all 3 tables are good and flat
I hope this will help this is some of the things I learned with my machine. I bought mine from an estate sale it was full of mud dobbers nest and spider webs and was gummed up with cedar sap but with a shower and spit shine it's been a fantastic machine , I know you will injoy it

G'Day Luie. Love the unboxing. Thought DeWalt would be a bit more careful with their packaging though. I have a generic Planer. BAMBOO ? Mmmm. I wore out my blades doing 5 bamboo boards. I should have pinged when the bamboo planing is 3 times as loud as any other timber. Great tool to have in the workshop. (Collect LOTS & lots of sawdust for the garden) 🙂 Rob

Very nice. I thought it was funny watching you struggle with getting it out of the box and printed on all sides is a picture showing it takes 2 people. But you won In the end. Your gonna need a bigger shop. You might consider getting a cyclone lit that fits on a bucket or garbage can so your not constantly emptying the shop vac.

      Hello,
Thank you for your comment 👍
As far as stopping on its own … I guess you’re talking about the reset button?
It didn’t happen to stop during this demo. If yours continues to pop the reset button, try installing new blades or taking smaller cuts
      Thanks again
