As a football(the European one) fan it's actually SUPER surprising to me that it took until 2015 for the manufacturer's logo to appear on the jerseys Cause that's been thing since the 70s in football Damn you had it so good before
@@tommyroth_ In NFL/NBA do they cut to commercial breaks in between quarters or in middle of the game? I'm from the Middle east so I've never seen a live game and I'm just curious
Have you ever seen a game before? they have ads at every stoppage. The reason they never had sponsors on the tops before is the same reason you don't see an ad for mercedes during a mcdonalds ad, the teams themselves are ads, products, brands. For a time football teams weren't seem as brands, but just local community clubs, which is why it was ok for them to have ads in the early days, but now the biggest teams are nothing more than brands with American owners.
@tommyrothWIGO Agency. These ads target people who don't have strong self-control when it comes to purchasing decisions. These ads wouldn't exist if more people had more self-control to begin with.
dude this content is amazing, if you can promote it one way or the other towards people who are interested in that, trust me, with that flow of editing you could become a great youtuber!
Honestly was hesitant to click the video when I saw it had 800 views, glad I did because your content is great, that’s the sad/hard part about trying to grow as a UA-camr. I hope UA-cam puts your videos on more homepages and people give you a chance like I did. Keep goin man 👍
Incredible video and well produced, your points really made me think about how many times I see ads in my daily life and how much the NBA is feeding off it
Good work man, I was shocked to here you say at the end of the video how many subs you wanted, I assumed you had way more! I just got my MBA and it was interesting listening to this and thinking about our classes in digital advertising as well as the ethical discussions
I work on the creative side of marketing and I hate how many ads there are these days that are shoved in peoples faces. And it's always really funny when people say that marketing doesn't effect them, because IT DOES. Way smarter people than me have proven that through studies. But the ones who really don't think it gets to them are the people that "never buy name brand" because I have a friend who works at one of the Anti-name brand companies and that's their GOAL to be the antithesis to bigger brands because it brings in more money lmfao. The world is a crazy place
This is what happens when you follow a league where all the teams are owned by one company, nothing but commercialism. We have it in football but we make sure not to stop the game for them, at some point you have to rise up and make a stand but that will never happen and Americans will keep on buying.
@@tommyroth_ I dont think its a law thing, yeah for the tv sure, but Id say that in terms of ads in the stadiums/arenas its about the same if not more in Europe, the issues is how the league is operated. Europe is a place where I've heard of fans bursting into basketball courts and smashing tv equipment to stop games being broadcast for protest reasons, different way of doing things.
Well produced video. Great to watch! But the actual topic- ads in the NBA, doesn't bother me at all. And when I saw the before and after during the video I literally thought, "oh, that's not a big deal, almost didn't notice the difference"
6:50 NBA isn't a basketball company, it is an add sales company that plays basketball on the side. Now "on court" adds are flushing red, even more bright and shining with light are adds on the side of the court. It's just unwatchable. So that was a ancient Greek myth about king whichever he touches turns into gold. But whichever includes food. Now... they turned sport into money. And sport dies out. The money and the greedy ppl stays. But even you've said that if somebody would pay you, you would put add into your material, and simultaneously you said and knows that ppl don't like adds, so... it's simple you would choose your own benefit over other people loss. And THAT'S what happening in a massive scale.
You’re gonna grow real quick and real soon. Only noticed you had 500 subs once I was done watching. You make content of a channel of at least 100k subs. Good shit
nice vid, but a little heavy handed on some of your points - some people do like ads, I'm one of them, I appreciate everything that has to do with brands, I love logos and graphic design, I love video editing and how commercials have to be succinct in their copywriting, I vibe with all that stuff, it's fun, I see the gamesmanship and appreciate it, it's hard to convert impressions into sales -- even then, I didn't notice a difference in your before and after shots of the court, my eyes are drawn to the ball and focus on it, I have to actively look for the ads and saying people are being brainwashed by corporations to have their money taken from them... is... hyperbolic at best? Like, I understand some of the indignance, but human beings all have their own working brains and agency to go along with them, these brands are offering products and services for their money. It's in the business' interests to maximize profit and it's in the consumer's interest to get the best bang for their buck, if the product or services aren't commensurate with the money exchanged for them, your business should go elsewhere -- unless you don't think the consumers at large are actually agentic actors and are instead just victims of some sort of 'brainwashing', whatever that means UA-cam isn't paid for by viewers buying off-platform sponsors' products, that's how the content creators pay their bills - UA-cam is paid for by the viewers' watch time and their eyes being on the user-generated content that Google auctions off ad-space on - if you want to come with the angle that UA-cam is taking advantage of viewers anywhere, it's there in trying to drive up engagement and watch time, time is more valuable than money, arguably for most at least and I'm gonna just let that flyover state comment you made about Oklahoma City go, I'm sure you and others find it funny, but the coastal elitism in America is... disheartening all that being said, good flow and editing, you did well on the video, even if I disagree on the points, have fun making more

Usually Europe has way more advertising rules than USA, but euro football is crazy with all the ads bc there are no commercial breaks
@@tommyroth_ In NFL/NBA do they cut to commercial breaks in between quarters or in middle of the game?
I'm from the Middle east so I've never seen a live game and I'm just curious
@@fz-tag in the middle of the game. Its really obnoxious and invasive. In the NFL they have breaks in the game specifically for showing commercials
@@tommyroth_DAMN that sounds like hell😅
I salute you sir for putting up with that

Frugal people will stay frugal. Undisciplined consumers will stay undisciplined consumers. No one is taking advantage of what someone already is.
Even a disciplined consumer is still a consumer

Never expected all this support, thanks so much for watching
Just put on the Knicks game for two ads on each half of the court. Im disgusted. No integrity
ngl i was shocked to see u only got 400 subs...Your videos are so good and u deserve more!!!! Can't wait to see u blow up
Thank you for watching 🙏🏻

Yeah man thanks for watching
The jerseys and shorts will soon look like The coveralls F1 drivers wear.
The ads on the top of the backboard got me. 😂
So rediculous
The ads are doing WHAT

Marketing is actually crazy. Were just monkeys
We should get nba teams named after companies
Its coming soon

Yeah i think the influence that marketing has on people is greatly underestimated by the general public
You're gonna hate it when they do the full court billboards. Lol
Yeah its gonna suck lol
This is really well made!
Thanks for watching!

We dont have strong anti advertising laws like they do in Europe unfortunately

Fair enough, personally i think there was a reason they never had ads until now, ruins the aesthetics of the game.

Damn man i thought you have like 150k subs at least... then I saw 400, that's some high level content you're channel have potential, keep going.
Thank you I will!
They have to compensate for low ratings and a soft game, so it makes perfect sense.
I honestly thought u had at least 500k this video quality is way too good I hope u blow up soon
Thanks dawg
