I have heard different things on what happened! Peacock apparently gave a budget of $85 million and Bryan Fuller figured A24 would pocket 20% of the budget but it sounds like they pocketed 40% to 50% of the budget and didn't tell Bryan and he had the scripts written with 80% of the budget in mind and apparently the first two scripts are done and they are amazing! The writers room never left the development stage because A24 kept putting it off and apparently the writers have not even been paid and a lawsuit against A24 is probably coming! In the end it sounds like A24 got really greedy and the show lost major talent because of it!
This is why we cant confide too much in these rumors and get our hopes up because when something goes wrong then fans get mad. I just take most of the news/rumors i hear with a grain of salt. I love scream but i try not to believe everything i hear. I mean ever since spyglass did what they did it just seems like everything is slowly backfiring.
I'm tired of all the ambitious announcements regarding new Friday the 13th media that never follows through. I'll believe it/get excited about it when I actually see a trailer from now on. Like this recent "Jason Universe" stuff, we can't even get one new movie/tv show how are we gonna get a whole universe of stuff?
Even though I'm not the biggest fan of the Friday movies, I was very interested in what the tv was going to do with the story. I personally really like part 4. For me, it's the only one that can hold up to the other big franchises. But, I also enjoyed parts 2 and 6. I need to revisit part 7. I love the character of Jason and the premise. My issue with some of the movies is lack of good characters. I was hoping, with great people behind the show, that the characters would be more charming and interesting. I hope they end up figuring this out.
Yeah that is way too much for a slasher show. It was only set in one location, what were they thinking?! Also remaking the movies is a bad move in my opinion. Do something fresh.
So it sounds like the plans for the show were very much like Hannibal. As in a reboot of the movies. I would have been interested. I loved what they did with Hannibal. Always annoyed they never finished Bryan Fuller's vison for how it was to wrap up and canceled it.
I'm so confused! I thought they said that the rumors were false, that they were still producing it 😢 So what does this mean for the whole "Jason Un1verse" i assumed that this show was the cornerstone there was no movie. The stated for the firings is a weird one lol. Like that's the reason you fired them?
Sorry, but I thought this sounded pretty terrible going by the various pieces of information that are alleged to have leaked over the cancellation. F13 is just not the franchise for this sort of treatment IMO, the proposed budget(s) were ridiculous - not a single one of the theatrically released movies cost anywhere near as much - as was the rumour about Charlize Theron (??!!) playing Mrs. Voorhees, and some of the people who were involved behind the scenes... just bad ideas all round.
I would've loved to have seen this TV series on Friday the 13th, what a shame it was cancelled. Hopefully it will go ahead sometime again in the future. Can you do an update video on the proposed Halloween movies TV series?
A sequel to Freddy vs Jason would be so much better then a Friday the 13th tv show. But this time have Jason vs pumpkin head since both characters are so similar especially the way they were treated by normies! imo the first round of the fight should go to pumpkin head and the second round should be Jason transforming into Jason x defeating pumpkin head and also have Mrs. Vorhees going against the pumpkin head witch.

The show has not been scrapped at Peacock. A24 is simply going in a new direction with the Friday the 13th prequel series.
