Dillon Danis (born August 22, 1993) is an American mixed martial artist currently competing in the Welterweight division of Bellator MMA.
In November 2022 Danis showed up to the press conference for the Misfits boxing promotion owned by influencer KSI. During the press conference, he had a face-off with KSI, at which point Danis struck him before throwing coffee on him. The two were scheduled to fight on January 14, 2023. However, Danis withdrew on January 4 with Mams Taylor saying the reason being that he is "underprepared, he [Danis] has no coach, he might be struggling with weight." - Спорт

It's always odd to me that Dillon is a BJJ black belt since that does take a high level of diligence. Shocked he didn't carry discipline from that into the rest of his life.

One thing I’ve learned from BJJ black belts, they usually aren’t humble. I actually hate being around them. They’re all cocky mfers
He probably doesn't love striking, realised it's hard and found out he would never be on a pro level.... now he's in limbo. He's trying to maximise the push that being associated with Conor McGregor brings without having the tools to become a good pro, so now he's resorted to social media trolling to milk his 15 minutes of fame.
It's a shame too because being a high level black belt is no joke. You could make a nice career in martial arts as a legit black belt that worked with McGregor.... he would have a solid reputation that would carry him through life with that stripe alone.
But no, he's gotta destroy his reputation entirely for some cheap mentions and a fleeting taste of negative social media clout.

Dillon Danis was that kid at middle school that told other kids that his dad is a NASA astronaut who has a space shuttle launch pad in the backyard. But Dillon can't let the kids see it as its 'classified Top Secret' and he'd get his dad in big trouble .
He’d also lie about being the Chad at parties where he said he’d get 10-20 girls phone numbers. When you invite him to a party he’s extremely awkward and by himself most of the time.

Dude is just a sad individual at this point. I feel bad for him having to deal with the loss of father in the middle of it all though. I dread the day one of my parents will die and having to deal with the pressures of him running his mouth in the middle of that makes me feel kind of bad for the guy. Dude needs therapy and to walk away from the media/social media for a long time though.
I kinda do too. We’re around the same age and my dad passed away in 2014 and I’m still not over it. I can easily see him not being in good fighting shape mentally or physically but it’s sad that it could be a once in a life time opportunity

It's so sad what combat sports has become. As a boxer myself, it hurts to hear statements like the one at 6:00. A once in a lifetime opportunity to fight a youtuber? There’s more and arguably better combat sports competition available today than ever in history. The amount of high level fighters, across all combat sports, is greater than ever. The fact that combat sport is popular enough that people from other facets of society are able to draw attention when they compete has only helped boxing, overall. Boxing has been having more viewership the last 3-4 years, compared to the last 10 or so. And the fact that these “celebrity” fights happen, doesn’t directly limit / affect the amount of high level / championship fights that happen
And the decline of boxing, compared to say the 80’s and 90’s, is the fault of boxing’s commissions and boxing promoters. They got too controlling and greedy, and that limits the ability for the best / most desired fights to be made

My condolences and I hope things turn around for him.. its easy for people who arent walking in his shoes to watch these videos and judge or criticize him when they dont know what that person is going through.. My father passed away a few months after I graduated high school and it completely turned my life upside down so I can relate.. have some sympathy for Dillon Danis and just hope the best for him..
