I’m 14 and I really enjoy your channel last night I bought 5 books and I know that’s not a lot but it makes me feel good to be able to pay for them myself I love watching your videos
that good that you paying for your own stuff but I would just go to the library even though some good books may not be in stock it would be much cheaper and free
5 books is plenty! Don't feel bad because you can't buy dozens of books all at once. I highly recommend pango books too if you are looking for an affordable way to read more books. It's a used book website that I've used many times and all of the books I've received are in really good condition, sometimes for only a few dollars a book.
I've received the following books: - The Da Vinci Code - Behind Her Eyes - Magnolia Parks I am currently busy with The Da Vinci Code and I am loving it. It is a more mature book and it is not for everyone, but is it so interesting. It is completely different than my usual books I read.
14:47 this has been my all time favorite standalone forever now and I was so happy to see it being appreciated when Fairyloot came out with this gorgeous edition! Gavriel is everything!
Station Eleven is one of my favorites ever. I've read it 3 times so far. The atmosphere, the characters, the writing, just the general vibe I get when I read it *chef's kiss*
I read The Coldest Girl In Coldtown at least 5 years ago and I remember loving it! Any time I think of books that I read in my teens that is one of the only books that I loved. Definitely recommend!
i made a barnes and noble order for myself for the first time this holiday! and also got the self published version of the atlas six on pango for only $8 😭 i’m in love with it
My husband gave me The Atlas Six for Christmas and I also bought myself some books with Christmas money - Foul Lady Fortune, Six of Crows, If He Had Been With Me, and Love & Olives 🥰
happy new year, Mel! loved having your energy in my 2022 and i'm hoping to spend just as much great time with your videos in 2023 as well. :) wishing you all the best!
I know TikTok recs can be wishy washy, but Daughter of No Worlds is 100% amazing. The only person I've heard not fully enjoy it said she doesn't like friends to lovers at all, and since it does have that sort of dynamic that was what impacted her enjoyment. It's my favorite book ever (the audio is also excellent). I didn't find it through tik tok but I'm glad Carissa Broadbent is getting more hype, she deserves it ❣️
Wingbearer looks so cute! I’ve been wanting to pick up Carissa Broadbent’s books because of all the good things I’ve heard 👀 here’s to hoping we both love it.
also if anyone is intereted in poetry, i just published my first two collections on amazon- Thoughts on a shelf and thoughts suspended by Samantha Haydock!
Still can’t believe the year is basically over, your book recommendations and vlogs have been one of the best parts of my 2022 so I’m excited to see what you have in store for us new year 😊
I got the FairyLoot edition of The Coldest Girl in Cold town too. I read it previously and I remember really liking it. Actually in the sequel to Spin the Dawn (Unravel the Dusk) the tale of Shiori is mentioned. So, the Spin the Dawn Duology & the Six Crimson Cranes Duology are set in the same world.
i'm really hoping i like the coldest girl, cause the edition is too pretty😩 and i love that they're set in the same world!!!! definitely makes me even more excited to get to them!!
A fire endless will not let you down. I cried but in the best way. I also loved foul lady fortune, even more than these violent delights and you need to read it just for the novellas that are coming
Six Crimson Cranes a total cover buy from me. Just such a gorgeous cover art. Fun fact, it is a retelling of the Danish fairytale, The Wild Swans. But this time, make it Asian. It's one of the books I'm reading to close out the year. Along with Warbreaker and Pride & Prejudice. I didn't get any books as gifts for Christmas. For my birthday I'm strongly hinting my friends and family signed illustrated copy of Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett. One it's gorgeous. Two, it's by far one of my recent favorite reads. Three, it's purple, which is my favorite color. It's just meant to be.
I got Beyond the Wand by Tom Felton for Christmas! It’s the first book my fiancé and I listened to together so having a physical copy is really special to me! ❤
I recently purchased My sister's keeper, Family of liars, Jane Eyre, The immortal life of Henrietta Lacks, and The radium girls: The story of America's shining women. And I also received this Christmas the Divergent series.
I was just watching your bookshelf tour waiting for new content! Perfect timing❤❤. I got gifted ACOTAR the box set. Paperback and I’m super excited to read it!!!
today i ran and got 'foul lady fortune' by chloe gong- AAAAAAAH im literally so excited, it was a half price hardback so i literally snatched it up!! hope you're doing great
could not agree more with you about blood on the tracks. the non dialogue moments are some of the most terrifying and oshimi did an incredible job portraying everything.
Hi Mel! These books sound incredible, I’m definitely adding some of them to my ever-growing TBR. I did get some books for Christmas! - The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern - She Who Became the Sun by Shelley Parker Chan - Renegades by Marissa Meyer - Light from Uncommon Stars by Ryka Aoki - The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern - So this is Ever After by F. T. Lukens I’m so excited about all of these, but I’m currently reading Bloodmarked and want to finish that first before starting a new book. ☺️
I am currently reading Foul Lady Fortune via audiobook (I also have the Fairyloot edition myself!) and I am loving the book/audiobook so far! I'm not a huge fan of audiobooks but the narrator, Emily Woo Zeller (the VA of Panem for all my Cyberpunk fans) and she is doing an amazing job and I just love hearing the Shanghainese/Chinese be pronounced correctly 😌
I got a Barnes gift card for Christmas & I bought Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco, Love & Other Words by Christina Lauren, A Thousand Heartbeats by Kiera Cass & the first 4 volumes of Demon Slayer! 🥳 I also went when there was the 50% Hardcover sale so that was great! 😫
I picked up The Secret History by Donna Tartt and Night by Elie Wiesel as physical books with Xmas "gifts" and my daughter got me From The Ashes by Jesse Thistle and If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio😊 And I got a Kobo with a gift certificate for books so I was spoiled this year lol
The amount people try to make you pay for special edition books. I was looking for the fairy loot vol 3 of heartstopper and I found a normal vol 3 only other thing was it was signed and they tried to sell it for £145
I hope you enjoy LOVELESS, it has to be one of my favorite Oseman novels - and I'm an avid HEARTSTOPPER stan. But as someone who came to accept being part of the ace umbrella later in life, knowing there's an author out there who wants to validate those weird feelings of guilt you get sometimes for being ace for young kiddos really hit me in the feels.🤍🖤💜✨️
i hate new years. every year, i hate it. not sure why. but autistic mind don’t like it but, the one thing i do like is looking at all the books i have read and remembering it all ya know?
Same. I also hate new year celebrations, it always makes me so sad and melancholic. 🥲 At the same time I do get that is just a concept to measure time and in reality nothing really changes.
I got 7 books for Christmas as gifts and then went to Barnes and Noble the day after Christmas and they had a 50% off hardcover sale... I ended up with several more lol
Man, I really really wanna read Aristotle & Dante (its sequel mostly), but I’m trying to find it used or from an indie store because unfortunately the author JKRed it :(
I have purchased waayyyyy too many books in the last few weeks as Xmas and bday presents to myself 🫠 I mean, my bday is in April, and there were preorders for a book that comes out in April, so that counts for my bday right? 😆 Someone please do me a favor and take away my credit cards and Amazon login 💸💸 #NoShelfControl

Guys Barnes and Noble currently has a sale running 50% off of a lot of hardcover books online and in store
I've received the following books:
- The Da Vinci Code
- Behind Her Eyes
- Magnolia Parks
I am currently busy with The Da Vinci Code and I am loving it. It is a more mature book and it is not for everyone, but is it so interesting. It is completely different than my usual books I read.
ugh i love the tom hanks movies😭😂 i own angels and demons so i have to get to that eventually!!
14:47 this has been my all time favorite standalone forever now and I was so happy to see it being appreciated when Fairyloot came out with this gorgeous edition! Gavriel is everything!
Hard agree on people upselling some of these Fairyloot editions. I won’t even talk about how much I paid for Babel 💀😭
Was it worth it?
@@rubyanddelilahandnani It’s such a beautiful edition and I really like the story, so for me yes! Lol
it's truly outrageous😭

I haven't read Station Eleven but I watched the show and it's absolulety incredible! I think you're going to love it.
Six Crimson Cranes is related to Spin the Dawn, it's like a prequel legend type thing mostly about how Bandur came into being.
OMG REALLY??? highkey makes me more excited😳
@@MelReads yes!! It eas good, but preferred spin the dawn myself
Nice Collection! 📚📚
Wow nice video and the books makes me want to binge them all right now
I was gifted Well Travelled by Jen DeLuca and Bable! Can’t wait to read them!
I started Station Eleven like the month corona hit and put it down, I really need to pick it back up soon - the beginning was just so good
Now.. I want this edition of foul lady fortune 💙💜💙

Mel, your glasses are so cute! Where did you get them?
they're from glassesusa❤️🔥
Six Crimson Cranes is ok, I had an issue with the pace it was a bit slow for me.
good to know👀
Your cats in the background casually knocking over your books😭
agents of chaos, i tell you😂
I had to read station eleven for a literature exam in uni so it just reminds me of stressful school days 💀
LMAOOOO not thissss😂
To my knowledge Blood On The Tracks is still ongoing, so you’ll be collecting volumes for a while!
I love the cover of daughter of no worlds 👀

I'm sorry. Were you recommending books? I was distracted by your adorable cats.
