I am in awe of what you do (and have been for many years since I discovered Harry C Jr) and was just thinking about you and your music when I read this and couldn’t believe it was true at first. I am so sorry about the last line. It’s actually the song’s true, heartbreaking pay off and my forgetting of it is the nature of these ‘shoot from the hip’ style covers. With composers like you who focus on craft, every line is deliberate. I was actually going to write that in the notes as it’s a moment to ‘learn’ as I say in the Song Society rules! I lost my beautiful, kind, caring son James last year on 19th July 2017. I miss him so much and this has made me cry again. It was suicide brought on through the pain of depression. The pain inside me will never lessen and I will hold onto it for a lifetime, but music helps and all the good memories. I guess I'm getting stronger. This song brings James back to me. This emotional masterpiece is perfectly fitted into the private atmosphere of the song society format! Brilliant. Although I love every cover, that surfaced in his channel, this one is a suprising personal piece. I'd love to have more footage of the recording session. A big "Thank you!" to all of the contributing colleagues of jamie and to jamie himself for giving us such great, intimate experiences and insights of their sessions. Didn't even realise, this piece hit me in the very moment it appeared.

This is such a beautiful version of a truly remarkable song. You would believe Irving Berlin wrote it . Also the recording of this version reminds me of the way Bruno major approaches things. Jamie mate, this is truly remarkable. I think a piano and vocal collection is needed. My mum lost her husband a year ago and the song really resonated with her. It’s a classic and this version is classic as well.
