I am a Sri Lankan living out of Sri Lanka for 46 years. Travelled a lot to other countries I travelled to SL this year. The train came on time, the buses went on time I travelled to Hatton on a CTB bus, They said 4 hours to reach Hatton and it arrived in 4 hours Went to Kandy on a train which came on time Also coming from badulla the train came on time Just to let you know it is not bad.
I just arrived in Austria Country which is famous fier on time services. The train was delayed 45 minutes I train got cancelled. Every country has these issues here and there. How many times in Toronto Canada buses does not come at all and people get late for work. Subway issues, bus issues. No country is perfect. If the Western world can not guarantee how can we..
I've watched SL Vlog's political podcasts but had never watched one of these podcasts before. I enjoyed this, so will be watching more when I have some time :) The story the guy said starting at around 41:35, was it about Tamil people? He did say it was in the North East. I've never heard of Sinhalese people doing the whole "red/golden dress", "putting the child on a pedestal" thing. I'm from Colombo and that's a shock to me, just like it was a shock to the Sri Lankans in the video! Can't believe that stuff happened as recently as 10 years ago in Sri Lanka, I hope it's not happening anymore...
@@mayaraj981 "almost a wedding" is basically a massive party, and I can definitely imagine Sri Lankans doing that, regardless of ethnicity. What I hope is no longer happening is not the massive parties (which I personally don't like) but parents looking for 18-25-year-old husbands for their 12-year-old girls. The reason I was wondering if it was Tamil people was because it was in the North East, because he was shocked to see that as a Sinhalese person, and because of the things he described about the parties: how the girls usually wore gold/red outfits (Sinhalese girls can wear any colour, not just gold/red), and how the child gets put on a pedestal. Whichever ethnicity it was, I just hope that the child marriage stuff is no longer happening because those poor kids!

Now I miss Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is not a place, it’s a feeling ❤

That's very strange. Normally, Sri Lankan times means never on time 😂

more recently I have seen Sinhalese people doing almost a wedding (without the groom) for the Big Girl party

Lol where is this Manampitiya? As as Sri Lankan myself , unheard of that 12 year old getting married. Thats technically child abuse.
It was muslim marriage law
They can marry under 18
@@fai3379 oh, thats so wrong. There has to be a unfiform loaw when it comes to chils abuse.

Great episode. Also can we get Gangulee akki on this podcast for an episode?

bring up Srilanka culture!but some of this complex cultures must be change!
Why do these people. Criticise their own country .seems to show the foolish poshness.
That’s what I’m thinking about. These two people are laughing at the their own country. Such a shame
it probably makes them feel better about themselves
I will switch off the light so I don't need to see the big guy
mmkayy
He blends in with the background. I barely noticed him.
I came accidently to this podcast. Damn.. This is interesting.. Culture shock
William mahaendran lol , which types got mixed
@@johnwi-l_l-iamsf3763 I got mixed with cricket shots. Strange it is. But it is a shock to arrive at this podcast , but it was interesting.

In the first place it seems how they respect their birth place as a comedy land.

This is the guy that said Andrew Tate is a scholar 😂😂
