Thanks, man! I thought I was going crazy as everyone and their mother seemed to absolutely hate this film. I loved it! Thinking a lot about it and listening to the soundtrack. It just really worked for me: the mood, the imagery, the melancholy, the music. It saddens me that a film that takes bold swings and has actually something to say bombs this hard.
I fully agree. And for the record: it’s not perfect, but it absolutely does not deserve the degree of hate it’s getting. It’s a bold swing and objectively a really competent movie.
We Loved it. We understand the “ruffled feathers”… but, also wish people put that aside and acknowledged the absolute Artistry, on par cinematography and superb acting this film is consisted of. I think most everything made perfect sense. The music was very appropriate, and came in at the right times. And yes, it makes perfect sense that it’s just a symbolic representation of his internal narrative… No… this film indeed does NOT deserve all this hate. I feel bad for everyone that has clearly worked very hard on it.
Thank you, I went into this movie with low expectations based on what everyone was saying… And I was disappointed… That the movie wasn’t as terrible as people are calling it, the hate is unwarranted.
I liked this movie. The performances were great. It made sense that it was a musical, because music played a big part in the first movie. I'd prefer more fantasy movie numbers, and less characters singing where they could have used dialogue. To me it makes sense we see more of Arthur. There's two sides to him.

I feel like people like to exaggerate on either end of the spectrum - a movie is almost never as awful or amazing as people are saying.

i enjoyed it as well, except the ending. but i believe upon further viewings i will understand it better and appreciate it even more.
I suspect for a lot of people it will be one of those movies that feel better upon a rewatch.
I haven't seen Joker 2 but I know that Megalopollis is better

Very good analysis as always Toni. I didn’t like the very obvious reference at the end, but the movie was better than I expected.
It definitely has its faults but I feel like it’s a bit overheated. Perhaps people judge it more as a sequel rather than as a film.
