On-the-fly tyre pressure adjusters are definitely a thing that are found on both custom and factory vehicles. Sonar for testing water depth, not so much. There are a number of products that could be adapted to this purpose from the boating and fishing world but all would require the sensor to be in the water to work, I think getting out and having a poke around with a stick is still the preferred option
Actually, (having bought the game), even the tutorial mission tells you that drones and binoculars can be used to explore an area. Perhaps Alex, being Alex, forgot that.
Just a note Alex. Looks like the map follows snowrunner's map scouting logic of black/grey/observed. When it wants you to "explore" an area, it wants all of the black/greyed out area in the circle removed. If you look at the map and see which location/part of circle is grey, you have a clear target instead of just blindly driving around. Also it looks like the drone may have uncovered some area while flying so maybe use that instead?
My main "offroading" game being Beamng means that I watch gameplay of something less punishing like this and keep expecting catastrophic failures like oil pan ruptures and driveline snaps that don't happen lol. Not a knock against this, if anything, Beam can be a little too punishing on heavy duty vehicles.
_""Tonight, Marty, where we go, we only need off-roading tyres!" This is FailRace, where tonight, expect to see:_ 10:01 _"A truck reverses over a wall._ 18:37 _"A tree saves a 4x4._ 4:05 _"And Alex... has wishful thinking." "I would like 15% fuel consumption, please!"_
Just gonna say that almost every heavy-duty trucks has a air compressor for at-least the brakes, and they can also have air suspension, air suspension on the cab, air assisted clutch, control tire pressure, etc. And the air system can get up to 120psi.
I was really hoping that a sequel to SnowRunner would actually improve the physics. While the suspension physics are pretty good and the terrain anyways, the engine physics have always been pretty terrible. Seems like this game is mostly just a repackaged SnowRunner. Physics look pretty much identical, mostly the same but less trucks and addons, even lots of the UI is exactly the same. And for me personally, the best thing in SnowRunner was always to drive these huge trucks with oversized trailers, maybe multiple, through way too small trails. There don’t even seem to be any trailers at all in this game. Don’t get me wrong, some exploration is also nice, but to me this isn’t a real successor to SnowRunner, seems more like a big DLC.
Snowrunners menus were way more homey and felt like they went with the game more all the mission selection screens feel kinda like mobile game to me but taking steel beams to build a bridge definitely got boring after a while and these missions definitely seem more varied and interesting
As much as i hate how the thinsg that should have been implemented in the older games comes out as new games i keep loving them all and cant keep myself from bying them, its just such an improvment from game to game. So as someone whos come from spintires through all of it my wallet may not see this as a welcome addition but my mudrunner heart see this as a very welcome addition to the series! i hope they can combine snowrunner and this game to make something even better in the future! (i hope)
A friend of mine and I built a 58 Apache up and had steel pipes for the front bumper replete with a schrader valve and the ability to fill the bumper with enough air pressure to refill all the tires so we could lower the tire pressure in the mud, and fill them back up before getting back on the highway.
Mr. Race, I have come from watching your latest VOD on Rimworld to say this: You can enter developer mode, and use the search box to enter the name of the item you wish to select. It will then select it, and you should be able to at least get MGFTW out of it, even if you cannot take it off again. Sorry I can't put this on your Rimworld video, but I cannot comment on Twitch.
Oh, I wasn't aware there was a new Mudrunner gam... Great googly moogly, they want how much for a Snowrunner game that the intern tipped a can of paint on?! I didn't spend that much on the previous two games (plus DLC) combined! On a side note, I appreciate the effort to maintain positivity without sounding like a simp or shill.
No idea when tire pressure systems 1st came, but a russian ZIL-157 military truck had air lines into the tires at some time in the 1970. you can se the airlines ceom from the middle of the axel, and go over the rim into the tires.
I'm looking forward to this game. I do think I will enjoy it, enough that I went ahead and preordered it. I see a lot of people bemoaning it and saying it isn't/won't be good, but I'm trying to keep upbeat.
Historically. They've moved backwards in quality. They could have fleshed out the misison features in snow runner for a much better game. But instead they went the opposite direction and made a game of just exploring.
from what I recall, the HMMWV had central tire inflation, where you could adjust it from the cab. I do also think the civilian versions came with it as well. so, yes, central tire inflation is definitely a thing. ...looking it up, central tire infllation was a thing on the later Humvees and the H1.
I had a central tire inflation system on the truck I drove for the US army. Was very handy. Had three different settings and had an air compressor on board as well
6:18 There are actually a LOT of pickups here in the States that do that. Whether they're actually used for off-roading or not is another matter entirely, though.
That´s a sweet bodykit on Lada Niva ! =) What I wish these games to have some sort of nod or reset system to flip the truck back to it´s wheels or get unstuck, like what Beam have.
I hope they backport the modular equipment / cargo system to SnowRunner... but mostly I just wish they'd let me disable the auto-reverse in Automatic gearbox mode...
I have very little confidence in this game considering the current state of Snowrunner. The game has been borderline unplayable for months while the devs continue to push out DLC and refuse to fix anything. This game looks to have the same physics engine, floating wheels, very bouncy suspension etc. To be honest the graphics look essentially the same too. Basically this looks like a new mode DLC being sold as a new game. Basically another cash grab from Saber
Finally something actually good from Failrace. Lord knows this guy ruined his own channel algorithm by repeatedly playing games absolutely nobody cares about. Guy still plays Forza Motorsport. At least go back to Horizon.

H1 Alpha Hummers I do believe are a great example of a vehicle that from factory had controls for decreasing or increasing air pressure of the tires.
many on road trucks and busses have them as well.
Worth noting - your explore % was increasing as you flew your drone around. Might be a quicker and easier way to get exploration objectives done!
I think it also ticked up when looking through the binoculars by one percent.
Actually, (having bought the game), even the tutorial mission tells you that drones and binoculars can be used to explore an area. Perhaps Alex, being Alex, forgot that.
Nothing like locked DLC cars in a $40 game that's not even out yet.
good ole sabre interactive.
Honestly, better DLC cars than a season pass
Piece of s#&t.
Still playing the original spintires, bestgame of the series ❤
>Make game
>Cut content
>Release as DLC
Ah yes, modern gaming
Still better than snow runner.. where you have to pay $5 on top of the game just to have anything but highway tires in the early game.

What maps do you use for offroading

10:15 I love that smaller individual rocks get disturbed. So much detail.
Most large trucks use air brakes that require about 120PSI, so you can tap into the air on the truck and air up anything you like.
plus some trucks, like the Unimog, and military vehicles, have central tyre inflation, don't even need to get out of the cab
Just gonna say that almost every heavy-duty trucks has a air compressor for at-least the brakes, and they can also have air suspension, air suspension on the cab, air assisted clutch, control tire pressure, etc. And the air system can get up to 120psi.
Oh boy! Another set of things promised in a mudrunner update 5 years ago being sold as a "new" game. It's snowrunner all over..
I'm glad your name isn't AlbinoFurzWolf
Snowrunner seems fully featured to me, just janky. What promises do you mean?(I don't follow social media)

Such low res textures on the ground too. This game looks worse than mobiles games.
Alex said the word “capable” exactly 39 times throughout the whole video.

It looks like you can use the drone to explore the areas. The percentage was increasing as you were flying the drone at 24:38
9:27 preserving the historical site at it's finest 😂

You’re supposed to use the drone for the “explore area” missions. Much quicker, fun, and efficient.
I like how this game graphics are slightly less realistic, compared to snow runner.
Oh, I wasn't aware there was a new Mudrunner gam... Great googly moogly, they want how much for a Snowrunner game that the intern tipped a can of paint on?! I didn't spend that much on the previous two games (plus DLC) combined!

yeah, my jeep has a air compressor onboard... it takes a few minutes.. but i can change tire pressure if i need to..
No idea when tire pressure systems 1st came, but a russian ZIL-157 military truck had air lines into the tires at some time in the 1970. you can se the airlines ceom from the middle of the axel, and go over the rim into the tires.

All the Dakar trucks can change tire pressure on the go from cocpit.

I hope you play more of this. especially when MP comes out. Its amazing and gets only better
Not only is remote inflatable tires a vehicle thing, but it is making its way to literal bicycles.
I had a central tire inflation system on the truck I drove for the US army. Was very handy. Had three different settings and had an air compressor on board as well

this map in beam would be incredible
Even the Hummer and the Lamborghini LM002 had tire pressure systems I think
That´s a sweet bodykit on Lada Niva ! =)
What I wish these games to have some sort of nod or reset system to flip the truck back to it´s wheels or get unstuck, like what Beam have.
I think that's what the "jack" equipment is for. SD1ONE showed it in his overview of Expeditions
I hope they backport the modular equipment / cargo system to SnowRunner... but mostly I just wish they'd let me disable the auto-reverse in Automatic gearbox mode...
Just seems like snowrunner with less steps.
Semi trucks use a self inflation system for tires. Someone has figured it out 😂
Great video Alex. Just wanted to point out, when you used the drone to explore a set area, the percentage increased while you flew around. Cheers!
Now I'm waiting to see if there's more very broken physics in the weekly FailRace episodes like the other Mudrunner games
I'm happy you played this so i dont have too. ✌
7:00 standard tech on military trucks since the 1970s
I’m so excited for this game to come out on march 5th
Remote tyre pressure adjustment has been a thing since WW2.
You can use the drone to explore those areas.
Would be cool for them to add a Dakar route to the game.
The drone helps complete explore misions
I have very little confidence in this game considering the current state of Snowrunner. The game has been borderline unplayable for months while the devs continue to push out DLC and refuse to fix anything.

Snowrunner has that same blurring textures glitch currently, how odd.
I enjoyed Mudrunner multiplayer more than snow runner. I play snow runner alone.
Still no manual transmission.
Many off road packages for consumer vehicles have the tire deflate/inflate feature
I enjoyed Dakar Desert Rally despite its flaws...but this is too much for me
Where's the beef? 😊
Yap yap yap.
Please can you consider going back to Teardown?
I thought this was about small truck off roading... kinda disappointed 😞
"capable"? more like ridiculous, really. is this an end game truck? or a scifi setting? i don't get it.
Finally something actually good from Failrace. Lord knows this guy ruined his own channel algorithm by repeatedly playing games absolutely nobody cares about. Guy still plays Forza Motorsport. At least go back to Horizon.
