  • How to speak English more confidently !
Today I can confidently have a conversation in 4 different languages, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian.
I want to show you some simple steps to help you feel more confident when speaking in English.
The essential habit to be confident is to train your speaking alone.
To slowly start to train your speaking alone, to understand that you practice in private to be able to communicate better in public.
The idea is to train speaking words and phrases alone 10 times to really take your time and feel more familiar with pronouncing the different sounds.
English is almost always something people "study".
But speaking and pronouncing words is EXACTLY the same as the movements in sport or dance.
When we watch a ballerina perform, we understand and accept that that person repeated the movements AGAIN and AGAIN.
Why don't we do this with English speaking?
If you want to play football with confidence, you need to train and practice.
My way of learning languages is to spend time repeating phrases slowly and systematically.
If you know you need to speak English in a situation, practice speaking the phrases alone BEFORE you are in the situation
If you want to speak confidently in public you must train your English privately.

Terry obrigado por mais um vídeo fantástico. Vou treinar meu inglês aqui.
I'm working on a phrase or excerpt from a song by the band Paradise Lost. The song is called "The devil embraced and the phrase is:
    "Underneath a shadow falling
Unbelieving prayers for all who die"
I doubt the pronunciation of the first word, especially the ending in 'th'.
    Thanks a lot Terry.

Hey Fabio! Cool! I love Paradise lost! I was listening to them today!
that's a super cool phrase you are training!
my advice with the TH is go super slow and practice, some sounds takes time to learn, for example this sound ção in Portugese took me a long time to feel comfortable with!
I am gonna listen to the song now the devil now!!

Day after tomorrow, there is my first Job meeting and my mentor is beautiful girl from Netherlands ofcourse, please suggest me some nice phrases I can use, she will ask about my online training in Microsoft Azure which I have completed already so this is situation 😅

nice that's a great opportunity, hmmm I'm not 100% sure which expressions to suggest, I don't know a lot about the context. I guess my advice would be to find videos or podcasts online talking specifically about this training. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but I don't really understand the context very well or enough to be able to really guide you.
Can you send an email to terry@englishwithterry.com and we can organize a time for a chat?
