      *About nuts don't need to change them in case of buzzing, White nuts, baking soda and superglue mixed and added on the too low nut string. let it dry, send it down make your way in slowly and gradually again and yure ready to go. Black nuts, mix baking soda, graphite powder and super glue. Of course cover your tabs before and after the nut to protect them from superglue and scretches. And of course to do this you need to soften those strings of yours. This tip I have got it from different tutorials here on youtube and it works beautifully!

    Surprised that you didn't mention the most common buzzing issue before people suggesting messing with truss rods: hydration. Living in Colorado, even my guitar was built at the Gibson facility in Montana, getting into the fall and winter months I get buzzing due to dryness. Usually a combination of dropping the Oasis brand humidifier in my sound hole and storing the guitar in the case and breaking out a humidifier or vaporizer in the room for a time will solve the problem. Other than that I found your lesson incredibly informative. My frets look like shit. Lol. Gotta take care of that.

    Yep, it's not the guitar, it's me. When I practice chords or play individual notes to check it, it's fine. But now that I'm starting to learn songs and trying to play at the right tempo, whenever I need to let a note ring longer I tend to loosen the pressure on the string and it buzzes at the exact fret I'm pressing on. Practice, practice, practice 🤷‍♀️

    I just got a new guitar last week and it was set up perfectly before it was shipped and it arrived with no issues. (Sometimes a guitar is set up great before shipping but then arrives messed up due to extreme temperature changes and/or mishandling. This guitar arrived totally fine.) I changed the strings and everything was still fine. Then I changed to a slightly heavier gauge to get a little more volume and immediately noticed considerable buzzing on several strings. I figured it had to do with having moved from custom light to standard light gauge strings, although the difference seemed negligible. However, it sure sounded to me as if the buzzing was coming from the head stock, not the fret board. I listened carefully and sure enough, the buzzing was definitely coming from the head stock area. So I loosened one of the strings and discovered that the nut (and all the other nuts) securing the tuner was loose. As soon as I tightened them all up the buzzing disappeared. So since this is a video addressing string buzz I figured I'd throw this into the mix just in case it's happening to anyone else's guitar(s). It's a super easy fix.

      probably too late for this person’s issue, but for anyone else who has this same issue: make sure your tuner is at 440 hertz. that’s the standard hertz for tuning a guitar. don’t use apps like GuitarTuna, those capture background noise as well and offer incorrect readings. anyway, if your tuner isn’t at 440 hertz your guitar will always sound out of tune. hope this helped anyone that needed this!!

      @@abbynvegas Well it's never too late to help.
      I use GuitarTuna for tuning, but I've always tuned in quiet room, and I can assure there is no background noise.
      And for me I think it's the bad guitar design. It doesn't have a truss rod.
      In the beginning, only the 5th string was buzzing, then 3rd started to buzz as well. Both were so annoying, but slowly their buzzing started to go away and now they're good. But now the 4th string is at its peak of buzzing. I can't adjust the action, although I think it's not the problem. The sound seems to be coming from the bridge pin. I guess it might be that the string needs to be replaced.

      @12south31 5 років тому +5

      You have a high fret. Use a fret rocker, or credit card/drivers license and cover 3 frets at a time. If it rocks, like a teeter totter, the middle fret is high. Using this method, determine where exactly it's high, the whole fret? Just a spot? Mark it with a sharpie so you know where and file it down little by little, checking constantly so you dont go down too far. If you do, it will just move up the neck one fret at a time. After its level, you will need to recrown the fret and polish. To recrown, mark just the very top of the fret and file the sides making a bit of a curve like your other frets and you should have a thin line of sharpie left at the very top. Only do the sides and not the top though as you dont want to take it down any farther, just recrown at this point. Now take some very fine steel wool and polish it up and you should be good to go! BTW, use some gaffers tape to cover the fretboard so you dont scratch it by accident, especially if you have a maple neck as it will be hard to clean.

    Classically trained pianist (30+ years) moving to accoustic guitar. Going through practice book I and II using single notes for foundation training (using new Yamaha accoustic guitar), hearing a humming on low E string when playing high E string single notes. Odd. I will first ensure my single note playing technique is proper before contacting my guitar vendor. Great information here. Thank you.

      Adjust the truss rod

    • @ChArham-bs1ne
      @ChArham-bs1ne 4 роки тому

      You probably took off all the strings at the same time, which let the tension from strings on the neck go, hence the truss rod bent the neck backwards. Adjust the truss rod while the strings in tune. You might have to tighten the truss rod and then retune the strings and then tighten again and retune a few times

    I just got a new Alvarez Masterworks and am worried there's something wrong. The next day I noticed a ton of fret buzz coming mainly just from the B string on chords like D, Dsus, Em7, etc. I don't have this issue on my other guitars. I took it in, and the guitar guy said it was common and the guitar was fresh off the boat, so he looked down the neck, made an adjustment to the truss rod, then had me try it. It seemed to be fixed. Next day, it was back. I took it in again, and it was the same thing. He adjusted it, seemed to go away, and so did I. Now today it is doing it again! I tried watching some videos and making some adjustments, and can't seem to get it to stop. Is that normal for a guitar to move that much that quickly when new? Should I be concerned?

      @@adamelafifi6566 Yeah, I did, but it's not perfect. I simply used a bit of folded sandpaper to sand down the string slot in the nut and it sounds much better. Seems the string was getting caught because the slot wasn't cut properly. A new nut is probably the best thing to do though to get it perfect.

    What works for me sometimes, especially when I get new strings is to tighten all the strings maybe 2 steps above it’s note. And then stretch them out with my fingers. And then play a few strums on it and slowly bring it back to standard tuning. Please be careful tho. You could completely break your strings if ur not careful. And they could hit you in the face and leave a scar. Be careful.
