On this day in 1966 {September 11th} the Rolling Stones performed "Paint It Black" on the CBS-TV program 'The Ed Sullivan Show'... Four months earlier on May 14th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; and on June 11th it peaked at #1 {for 2 weeks} and spent 11 weeks on the Top 100... It also reached #1 {for 1 week} on May 26th on the U.K. Singles chart... And on June 13th it once again reached #1 {for 1 week}; this time the Canadian RPM Top Singles chart... R.I.P. Brian Jones {1942 - 1969}.
This ranks with The Last Time, Satisfaction and Time Waits for No One as the greatest early Stones rockers ever. Four of the greatest rockers by ANYONE, ever. Wonderful stuff, just wonderful........
This is a great song about Vietnam war vets and probably PTSD or agent orange. It was very tragic times but I bet ya the stones are old enough to have been there and seen it and we just learn about it as if it's ancient history. It's not in my living memory but it's good to know about. I also like the rain deer games movie that's iconic too.
Just saw the stones live yesterday. They've been singing the same songs for nearing 50 years. And they don't do that rancid thing a lot of musicians do where they change the entire tune/beat of a song to spice things up. Bless these beautiful brits!
You have some great pics in the link, crystal clear, high quality. Great Job! I wish I was able to go to the shows. Did you go to the lounge they were talking about?
I saw this guy in 1945 I had a good time with him I am 89 years old I still live love you guys if something happens wrong this guy will be in my memories

the best Band ever
Legend
When our cause succeeds, you'll love me.
Even the best song of stones is just the song for the plebs. Absolutely senseless to repeat it in Jagger's age...
Mick has a full head of hair in his 75. This man is great!!
Just saw the stones live yesterday. They've been singing the same songs for nearing 50 years. And they don't do that rancid thing a lot of musicians do where they change the entire tune/beat of a song to spice things up. Bless these beautiful brits!
The tounge pit? That must have been where i was when i saw them at Twickenham in 2003. Front row!!
Damn the Time and gravity. one day they will be no more but their songs will live on.
Meu favorito.
Daym dats a badass granpa a granpa that plays a guitar or a drum set

Супер
Wow he sounds the same
REAL DEAL No big Sets and distractions Just REAL MUSICIANS Play'n n Sang'n saw them in 65 with The Who in Paris..
Try the version by Chris Farlowe. It is a knockout.
Not the same without Brian Jones on the sitar.
Damien Demento neither without bill on bass
Damien Demento
When Your Hole World Is Black!.
your as young as you feel= .. they asked keith what this song was about -and he said he didnt know--- chuckle

I SEE THE GIRLS WALK BY DRESSED IN THEIR SUMMER CLOTHS! :P
4:40 Woah lol
to me, mick sings just a shade slower than he should - the rest of the band rocks it out just brilliantly! but then he is in his 70s!
:')
Still got it, they are definitely getting some sympathy for the 😈 devil.
I'm disappointed Darryl Jones doesn't duplicate Bill Wyman's "zoom, zoom" effect on the bass at the end of this song.
Robert Cross yes i miss that too!
to many covers and copys of this beautiful classic song, some people have butchered this great song
where's the canes
Charlie Watts was looking at you at 1:14
Crazy Zombie that's crazy Zombie
< watched just to see if their dentures would fall out.
bill wyman isnt there but he will be 80 in 3 years
My eternal MICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A little slow but good the hear as always.
now there elders
They're still young at heart.
İt's broking my heart to know the fact that they're gonna die
everyone is going to die lol
It would of been less sad if they all died drunk in the 70s
Man, Keith Richard looks like he's gonna tip over from the guitar. Not bad though for being that old....stay got the beat!!
I prefer this version of the '90s recordings, where Mick Jagger lip-synced (believe it or not).
