I owned one. It was fun but horrible at the same time. Wrist breaking forks. Whip cream damped rear shock. It weighs a lot and it's late 1970's technology. It would have cost more to get it working nicely then the purchase price. Bought a KTM. Light years better!!!
KLR = ancient AVAILABLE tech that a lot us fall into when buying used on a budget. You're right that fork braces, new rear shock and upgraded fork springs likely equate to the cost of newer used YZ or KTM. RIDE SAFE :)
The first one blew up in the Sierras, The second one cracked a case on the WA BDR and the third one was a Gen 2 2008 that I just didn't like very much and sold it. This 4th one is an 06 and it's going to be a friend's first bike. Just spending three months with it...
@@njgfpv3696 I don't want that engine to break... I just want to avoid it... And because the Gen 1 I bought was so cheap...that I prefer that one to break it it happens some day....
It's off road capable enough for me. Looks like a lot of fun.
I agree it's very doable, just MORE fun on my 125 in some of the deep back country of Capital forest.
Looks like a beast!
big dawg
I love capitol forest!
amen!
You really cook on the trails up there in god’s country. ❤

4th... Wow... I still have my 1st Gen 2 2010.... Also I have a Gen 1 2007... If you have sell the others? What are the reasons you sold them?

@@HowardianMotoVlog I am selling my Gen 2.... I want to keep for ever my 2007 Gen 1
@@evenstevenmotodrone735 Why are you selling your Gen2? Just picked one up. The one downside for me is this one seems harder to wheelie.
