Hey Matt I was wondering if you could do a video on the mlb bat standards, like how wide the barrel diameter has to be, and the maximum length for the bat. And maybe talk about the bat you used throughout your career
Is there a place where I can buy Antonelli Baseball gear like your hat?
Are coaches/ managers interactive during the game like in high school or travel etc. Huddling the team up in between innings and giving advice ?
what happens when any guy on the team retires or breaks a record or milestone.
Is there a policy about phones on game day?
Hyper Fuze Good question
I enjoy watching your videos! They're very interesting! Especially when it comes to behind the scenes, and on field of professional baseball! Keep it up!
As a coach and umpire, I know that for ballgames from Little League through high school that coaches usually address the team about that specific game soon after. Was that practice similar to when you played in college (Wake Forest, Cape Cod, etc.) or was it more like when you played in the minors or majors? In the pros, do coaches not talk to the team after games (win or lose) because the players kind of know where the ups and downs were during that game and what they need to improve on, individually and as a group? Thanks!
How important is home field advantage? Does it really make a difference?
1)What the recovery after the game, what gets provided what's all in the clubhouse to help you get prepared for next game?
2) Who decides decision on BP,is it a team decision or strictly managers?
What do the catchers do with their gear throughout the season? Do they wash it after so many games? Do they rotate multiple sets of gear?
Zachary Perez he's not a catcher
So he was on a team that has a catcher and would probably be aware of what happened
What's the dugout or clubhouse like after someone traded
Nice video. You say that players can’t have emotional highs and lows because there are so many games, etc. But what about starting pitchers? They play far fewer games, and (in general) their individual performance has a bigger impact than any other single player. Do they hang their heads after a loss?
What's it like playing with players that don't speak English
Kyle Eastman I want to know this too. Good q.
Kyle Eastman you don't talk to them
Que?
No Habla ingles. I’m guessing that what interpreters are for genius
Pretty much all sports have a universal language. For the practical stuff, you will be able to get your point across. Also, most sport specific terminology is universally spoken in English. For example, a baseball player in France isn't going to call a fastball a 'balle rapide'. Just like you, he is going to call it a fastball (regardless if he is playing in Europe or North America). If you want to see/hear a good example of this, watch a boxing of mma fight from Japan with Japanese commentary. You will hear the commentators speaking in Japanese, but then all of a sudden, you will hear "jab' ,'armbar' 'triangle' or 'uppercut', coming from the Japanese commentator's mouth. So while you might have some difficulty sitting down and discussion the team's plan or strategy for the season, you won't have any trouble discussion the plans or intention for the game that day.
what is it like getting hit by high 90's fastball
reezy W bad
It hurts
Remember this word....Coño...
On a team that's selling is everyone anxious in the clubhouse close to the deadline or do you try to act like nothing's wrong?
What's it like when a player starts breaking things in the dugout? Love these vids they are interesting
What do you do during rainouts?
Thanks for answering my question!
I absolutely love this channel
Thanks so much!
Thx for the video Matt
Thank you for watching!!!
What's is the competitiveness like at different levels are the majors the most competitive
Whats the first mlb practice like, how to the veteran players and the coaches treat you
Do players pay attension to there all star game votes?
How do everyday players deal with the 162 game season? What do they do to keep their muscles unsore and body's in good shape for every game?
I love your videos they are so entertaining
Wow
What's it like when a pitcher throws a no hitter?
Make a video on how it feels getting walk off hits as they usually dump Gatorade on you and stuff like that.
What is the clubhouse atmosphere when someone gets traded
What are regular practices like before a game, are they mandatory for all players or can you skip them and chill in the clubhouse or what ???
What do players say to umpires that cause them to be ejected? Are there any specific things that will push an ump over the edge and make them eject a player?
Arguing balls/strikes from what Ive seen will get you tossed quick. By rule its forbidden to do so.
Was there lots of personal interaction with the team's GM or owners and what is that like?
Is there stealing signs? Like a runner on second base seeing what the catcher is calling?
jmctigret he already made this video
Have you ever been involved in a triple play or been at a game where a triple play was turned?
What are days with double headers like?
2:11 yeaaa we lost!!
What happens when u get traded
Steve Urcell you switch teams
Colby MacDonald lol
69 likes and I will suck a dog
You play for another team
Hey Matt can you do a video on how your gear got delivered to the field?
How do you get all your uniforms do they keep track of them?
when will you show us the jerseys you kept.
The special ones.
Good video!
What's it like to go through the retirement process?
Also another thing what's it like when you get tossed from the game like where do you go what happens what do the players / coaches say? Etc
Losses in baseball only suck if you were that close to making the postseason and a loss did you in or if you made the playoffs and you needed that win to stay alive, or if it was a game 7 in NLCS/ALCS or Game 7 or whatever cost you the World Series .
Do starting pitchers get pissed at closers for blowing the win? I'm a huge Phillies fan and it just happened tonight... Just wondering.. your videos are so interesting
I live in a small town very far from a major city, there aren't any 15u, 16u etc. teams in the area just a short summer travel league. I aspire to play baseball at a very high level how can I "get scouted" if the only u teams are 5 hours away?
Cameron_O.11 High school
Cameron_O.11 show cases will work but only if you are an absolute standout player
Showcases are a waste of money unless it's a perfect game showcase
What is the process as a minor leaguer when you are traded
Also what's your reaction when your buddies in the minors do something amazing in the bigs like David freeze when he had that monster 2011 postseason
Bleeding Blue ))
What do the players say to the umpire after a called strike? I saw Daniel Murphy do it the other night and the pitch was clearly a strike, but I'm wondering what he says/asks. "Is that as low as it goes?" or "that one was right on the edge, right?" perhaps?
If you are coaching a youth team (regardless of the sport) and they aren't trying very hard or they are playing really poorly...if you really want to get them to pull it up and start putting forth a stronger effort... There is one sure way that always works in getting a team to pull up their socks and pull it together. Before the game or in between periods, walk into the dressing room/dugout and tell them that if they don''t pull it together, there will be a team shower after the game! No, no, no, I am not suggesting that you threaten the players with molestation. I am pointing out that young boys are pretty much allergic to water and washing after sporting events. When I look back at some of the very unhygienic things I used to do as a child, my whole body cringes. Until I was in highschool and we had practice right after school from 430pm-6pm, 4 days a week, I spent a good chunk of my childhood having to go to early morning hockey practices before school. Just like the rest of the team, I would go straight to school without showering. hahha We were as old as 14 or 15 years old playing bantam provincial hockey and not showering before going to school. It is funny when I look back because I don't recall any of the pretty girls complaining or telling us that we were sweaty or stunk. But we absolutely did smell like crap. Nothing is worse than the smell of hockey gear.
What are meals like on like flights across the country?
Irenio Salazar idk thats about baseball
Do any of the players like rain delays or do they hate it
Did the media affect you throughout your career? Or did you try to ignore the newspapers and articles.
What's it like playing double header games in the pros
I see that thumbnail, and I know I’m in for a great video
When should we hear back from the coaches from the u14 tryout
Joe maddon says the cubs have a party after every game in the clubhouse with music blasting, dancing, pool, ping pong, games and shit!!!
Great video Matt! Did you ever play in the AFL?
How do you feel about "coaches kids" Playing ball in a small town I see it a lot, how do you feel about them.
Hey how does picking your own at plate music in the minors and MLB work? How often can u switch it up and what’s the policy?
I have a video on it in our playlist. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Antonelli Baseball lol
Yeah my bad buddy I saw that after I asked the question.
Could you please make a video on how to get college coaches to notice you as a young prospect?
Best/worst way to get scouted would be a cool video.
Who's your favorite manager you've had
What about for winning/losing a playoff game?
What about signing autographs my signature would look like a 5 year olds on a baseball
What about when a player is in a crazy slump. Like 0 for 30, any rituals like naked batting practice or dead chickens or holly smoke?
Haha I just put a video up about that if you want to check it out. About superstitions. Thanks for watching our vids and commenting I appreciate it!!
"No one game defines you" Tell that to Bill Buckner. Haha, jk. Of course he's exceptional. I agree w/ you.
Do fans make a difference?
For the pitcher a loss is totally different, for a hitter it normal In a certain way.
What happens when there's a fight in the dugout or in the clubhouse?
How many showers are in a clubhouse? Enough for everyone?
I believe there is 2-5 showers. Don’t quote me though
What is your best experience of your career ?
Any difference if its a playoff game?
handshakes?
Pretty sure baseball fans dont overly care about single games either unless it's like a crazy come back or a walk off win.
Its normally if the team has won/lost like 4 or 5 in a row that the wins or losses start getting looked at a bit more
Have you ever been in an argument with an umpire and what's it like for the players seeing a manager getting ejected and "getting their moneys worth?"
What happens if you take the field and then realize you gotta take a dump?
What were the weirdest superstitions you / your teammates had
Did you ever have teammates that really did not get along and would fight?
ha reggae ton
Have you ever played against any korean players?
How awkward is the shower and locker room setup?
Ryder D ever played on a team sport ever? You shower together and guys change in the locker room. It's not a big deal.
@@prorobo I have. By the way your 3 years late. Have you ever played on a major league team? Guess you can’t answer then
Ryder D why would it be any different in the show? Are you dense? They're people.
Also, "you're."
@@prorobo yeah but I assume you have heard the stories. Reporters have access to the locker rooms. This comes down to not just teammates, but people they’ve never met. But I’m dense so bad question.
Ryder D reporters know what they're getting into. If they're offended by seeing naked men, they should have signed up for something else.
Whenever my bantam team loses we always feel crappy but we only play one or two games a weekend. Then usually we just go on with our conversations about random stuff like almost getting sent to the office or something like that.
Tyler Barrett what the actual fuck
"No one game means too much" all I can think of is Bill Buckner. Haha.
What would the mood be in the clubhouse after your center fielder makes one of the greatest catches of all time, you light up one of the best starters in the league for 7, and then you come back on one of the best closers in the league only to give it up in the bottom of the 9th? Your Sox are sadistic. Go Tribe.
you win some you lose some and sometimes it rains
No 1 at bat will define you.
Jose Bautista would like to challenge that
Do Players really hate Umpires?
Hace you ever been ejected?
Regular games probably dont have much emotion, but winning or losing the world series probably has a lot more emotion to it.
For sure!!
I always suspected baseball was more workaday mentality with so many games than some other sports.
How much beer is drank in the minors?
LOTS lol. Thanks for watching and commenting!
You describing fans emotions hahaha
No. That was egregious. But no robot umps. You hit the spot and the catcher doesn’t move his glove and it’s an inch off the plate…ring him up. This was not that. This was just stupid wrong.
You must hate the giants let's go giants
I know there is no crying in baseball but how about trash talking? Seems like ballplayers have no tolerance for it unlike other pro sports.
There really isn't much trash talking at all. Thanks for watching and commenting!
patriots fan? unsubbing
JUST KIDDING
go red sox and go pats lol
Ya!!! Thanks for watching!
Why do you were the same thing every video
