    Before it was coined the GD wash method, it was simply called the multiple towel method. It’s not the Yvan Lacroix method, it’s simply an other technique that works. There are many great ways of using a Rinse Less Wash.

    Long post coming. I use the Gary Dean Method, but with double flips. I use about 4 or 5 during my wash. I use the sponge sometimes as well, but I feel the Gary Dean Method is safer. Its also more cost effective and efficient as with a grit guard in your bucket you have about a gallon that cannot be used due to it sitting underneath the grit guard. I can also reuse my solution for another wash by just putting a gamma lid on top because I never introduced dirt back to the bucket. Grit guard does nothing when it comes to leaf and grass debris because it will float and I rinsed my sponge once and had to be very careful the rest of the wash because some of the leaf debris kept getting stuck on the sponge. The laundry is a moot point because I'm going to wash my drying towels and any microfiber towels I used cleaning the interior anyways. A lot of people use drying aid and toppers that have si02 or polysiloxane bases so I would imagine they are washing their drying towels as well because you don't want those thing building up on your drying towel.

    I do both. Multiple towels when dirty and sponge when not. In the GD method it would have been a little faster if used same pump sprayer.
    In the 2022 GD he used a battery powered pump sprayer that hooked up to the gallon.

    Very interesting about the Detail Juice. Idk if he's updated or changed it any, but IUDJ was the first rinseless I ever bought and tried back in 2015/2016 (props to Junkman2000!). Back then, it was 512:1 or 1/4oz per gallon. Interesting that it's up to 1oz per gallon now. I remember his marketing schtick was you needed half as much as the "other" guys so it would go further/last longer. Problem was, it was more than twice as expensive so the per use price was still higher. I switched to ONR for cost and because of TRC, Yvan/Optimum content and haven't looked back.

    Hi Eddie…I just discovered your channel from the mention by Pan The Organizer. I’m a Detailing enthusiast and only knew the rinseless method with sponge. Thanks for introducing me to the alternate with microfiber towels. For me, I will only perform a rinseless wash when the car is barely dirty (north GA pollen), if it’s more dirty than that…I’ll do a full blown foam/wash deal. I’m currently using the first rinseless wash product that I’ve ever purchased, McKee’s N-914 Rinseless Wash & Wax (Yellow). I like how much slickness it leaves behind and it smells great. Alright Eddie, so hear me out on this one. I would prefer to use a sponge on most of my rinseless washes if I had access to running water. Seeing as I do not at my apartment I tend to purchase distilled water which can get quite expensive. As much as it is a pain to launder towels, a bucket of water with rinseless can be used multiple times using towels. Since I have a garage I also like to prefoam the car with a good cleaner soap outside then rinse before I do a full rinseless inside. In this method I tend to only need two Eagle Edgeless 350 towels to clean the car!

    • @border056
      @border056 5 місяців тому

      How much is your distilled water? I get 4 gallons at $2 a pop. 3 gallons go in the bucket, 1 in my sprayer. You can also fill up your bucket with water from the bath tub. The rinseless wash will soften the water, if you have hard water.

    Very interesting, thank you. I have some MF's i naively bought and don't want, so they get used for wheels, lower side skirts and save my sponge for the bulk of the car.

      @Ecdetails no I haven't. Just his way. The math wasn't mathing on using the 2 bucket method for me early on. When I went to research all ways I could to wash I found his video about Rinseless (Less) I loved his method. Rinseless was my only option at the car lot with no water source so I needed to learn how to use it.

    Obviously the sponge must not scratch the paint otherwise there wouldn’t be so many people using one. I prefer using a bucket with 8-10 wash mitts, using one side per panel. That way you 100% know you’re using a clean wash media on each panel. I am a big fan of rinseless wash, for a magnitude of reasons and I’ve become somewhat of a rinseless savant. But reducing water spotting is the top reason I use it

    • @Ecdetails

      @@Ecdetails I never washed vehicles like that until I did some training at a detail shop in Merridian Idaho, called “In Depth”. Chris is the owner/operator and his knowledge took my skills to the next level. I try to implement a lot of the things he does, he’s been in business for 15+ years. Have you ever heard of Specialty Supply? It’s a detail distributor in Meridian. Even tho I live 2 hours from there, they drive to me once a month with a huge box van full of anything and everything you could possibly want for detailing

    I like the multiple towels method, "More Bang for the Buck". One gallon of mix can wash my car 8 times, very economical. If I pre-spray, one gallon will wash my car 4 times. For about 20 bucks, you can wash your car 400-500 times, that's why I use multiple towels. But use what works for you? Thanks EC!
