  • [Glam Rock/Synth Rock/Hard Rock/AOR/Metal/Glam Metal] Here is a special video for all the fans of the original "Terminator" film. This is my special custom made album of Tahnee Cain (Tané Cain) And The Tryanglz. The group's music was commonly used throughout the Tech Noir club scenes in James Cameron's 1984 hit film "The Terminator". Only three tracks can be heard in the film: "PhotoPlay" (Track 1), "You Can't Do That" (Track 5), and "Burnin' In The Third Degree" (Track 9). The rest of the tracks are unreleased demos that were planned to be released in 1985 by Tahnee Cain (Tané Cain) And The Tryanglz but sadly they never were ...until now! ;) I decided to put them all together and design a silhouette Tech Noir club video so that you really feel like you are spending 40 minutes in the actual nightclub from "The Terminator". Tané Cain was born Tané M. McClure on June 8th, 1958 in Los Angeles County, California. She is the daughter of actor Doug McClure and Faye Brash (the first of his five wives). She has a half-sister named Valerie from her father's marriage to his fourth wife (Diane Soldani) in the 1970s. She recorded her first single, "Redwood City", in the late 1970s, and soon thereafter she met The Babys and Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain, whom she married (they are now divorced, lol). After marrying they both moved to Los Angeles where she landed a record deal in 1982 and released a self-titled (using her married name Tané Cain) album on RCA Records. A Billboard review of the album described her as "an artist to watch" and remarked that she "looks incredibly beautiful on the LP cover". The album did not sell as well as the label had hoped (peaking at number 121 on the Billboard album chart), and she was dropped, never to release another album until her contributions to "The Terminator" film with the Tryanglz. For some strange reason she changed her name to Tahnee Cain when she performed with the Tryanglz, probably because she was known by the public to be a sort of Pat Benatar clone and she didn't like that label, maybe the change in name was her trying to shift her image. Never the less in 1985 she recorded all these tracks presented in this video with the Tryanglz but they never were officially released, listening to them i feel annoyed that they never were released, i mean the success of the "Terminator" film was monumental and the club scene is still widely talked about for having great music. As time progressed, McClure starred in more than two dozen sexploitation films. She also played the mother of Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) in Legally Blonde (2001) and its sequel, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde (2003). All in all, i hope you guys enjoy this silhouette video as i really wanted to put you INTO the Technoir nightclub on the night of May 12th, 1984 located on Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles. This album is unreleased and has no distribution label '84.
**Fun Terminator "Tech Noir" Movie Facts:
-The cover charge at Tech Noir in 1984 was $4.50.
-The phone number of the pay phone at the club was 555-9175.
-In the script, the club is named "Stoker's".
-During production, the film crew had to turn away "would be" customers who thought the Tech Noir was a real club that had just opened up.
-"Tech Noir" refers to a film genre combining the styles of "Film Noir" and "Sci-Fi". This includes films such as The Terminator and Blade Runner. James Cameron coined the term, then also gave the name to the nightclub.

I'll tell ya: Whoever this "Tahnee Cain" was, it's a true loss she wasn't promoted better. Her voice is so passionate, powerful in depth and tone, and emotionally enveloping, it's astonishing! She reminds me very much of Gloria Estefan, but I think Tahnee (Tane) was better! I still get the chills everytime I hear her sing this song in the movie (Photoplay and Burnin'). Just a phenomenal voice that should have been Top 10 in her time period. Best wishes to her wherever she is! My favorites on this album are: Photoplay, You Can't Do That, Cross Words, Lifeline, and Burnin'. All great!

As a band, they showed remarkable promise: hooky synth grooves, steady rhythms and blistering guitar leads. Tane was already a powerful singer, but with this band behind her, she never sounded better. A true shame that the band itself never got off the ground beyond The Terminator OST, this offering is proof that they could have been a real 80s gem.

OMG, I appreciate you posting this sooo much. Now I have to look for all the lyrics because.....I want them lol. This is the sound of the 80's in so many ways. And this is damn good music IMHO. I admit that my opinion may in some ways be based on nostalgia but so what! One of the reasons that club scene was so memorable was this music. It was a perfect fit as was so much of the music from the first 2 movies. Don't know how many times I looked for a full production album where none existed....until now! Thanks so very much for sharing this with us. I just hope that Tane' can read some of the comments here and know that what she and her band mates created was and is loved by so many.

It's some amazing editing, also love the cameo appearances from Linda and Arnie too. And thank you for putting all these unreleased tracks in one place, a lot of us would have been clueless otherwise.

I’m so in love with these songs. Tane Cain and The Tryanglz rocked and Tane had such a great voice! Strangely, her birthday is precisely 1 year before my mother’s, who was born on June 8th, 1959. So that would make this singer 65 today. Her voice was incredible. How she and the band didn’t go on to become top-selling artists is beyond me. They really had so much potential. Just these few songs prove that they were on fire. They were magnificent! I will always love the Tech Noir scenes in ‘Terminator’ mainly because of this great music! Thank you so much for putting this together. I’ve listened to it back-to-back about 3 times now so far. I really love ‘Hunter’. I’d never heard it before finding this and I can’t get enough of it. Long live the 80’s… Oh how I wish we could go back to those days. We’d sure miss the technology we have now, but I’d so love to go back to the 80’s and go to the nightclubs in LA. I grew up in LA and the Valley right in the heart of all the magic from the decade, but I was just a child all through the 80’s. I was too young to truly appreciate that it was the best decade to be alive! I’d go back and be about 10-15 years older than I actually was then and I’d dance the night away at clubs like Tech Noir! Thank you again for all the hard work you put into this. It came up randomly and I’m so glad it did. It’s my new favorite thing on UA-cam.

Tech Noir was just like one of those dive kind of clubs you’d find on Pico Boulevard in the 80s, however you’d still wear your best shoulder-pads to go shimmying around the dance floor in it though. Hopefully they won’t and get shot up their like and some movie!
Speaking of which, I can also hear someone revving it like crazy biker bars,, better not be expected here him raving on in so, if she not better be some Austrian guy on a mission coz my mother’s already psycho then let’s enough!

It's funny that one track is called "You can't do that" (...to me). This quote is not only what the gun shop owner/assistant tells the T800 but it also fits in this exact scene when it runs, the scene where the Terminator kills Matt and Ginger.

Sarah: "I'm at this place called Tech-Noir."
Detective Traxler: "Yeah I know. It's on Pico."
Now, how does Detective Traxler know where Tech-Noir is? I mean, does he frequent the place? Is he a regular patron of Tech-Noir? Does he go there to get his boogie on with the punkers and the white yuppies? He just doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would be a fan of 80s pop rock. But, maybe I'm wrong...
