I had a new Camry Hybrid rental that was pretty nice but out of my budget. I settled on an Elantra SEL Convenience for about $27k. I tried the Sonata but the ride was dull and disconnected. I just hit 3k miles on the Elantra. It's comfortable, the ride isn't as nice as a Camry but isn't terrible. The Toyota was annoying with it's lane keep assist and auto braking. Hyundai did a lot better with that.
I live in a mountainous area and it cuts right through snow. Just went 45 miles through a 7 inch storm in whiteout conditions this week with mine. Handles well, smooth shifting and acceleration and suspension isn't terrible for not having a multi link system.
Is it better than the 2025 Camry hybrid? These are the two finalists in my mind for those who still want to purchase a sedan like myself.

The Elantra is smaller than the Camry. The Elantra is comparable to the Corolla, the Camry the Sonata.
A fuel efficient cockroach??? 😬😬😬😬 No thanks!
