*Absolutely love this thing. **Fastly.Cool** and air purifier perfectly this machine We set it up in the low air circulation basement where the dogs hang out (man cave too) and it made a HUGE difference in air quality.*
Those considering this unit may want to also closely consider the alternatives if their primary goal is improving air quality. This 'Pro' version improves upon the abysmal PM2.5 performance of its smaller siblings, but the issue remains that the performance of this just isn't that great. Further, its price puts it in the same class as the AirPura 600, AllerAir AirMedic Pro 6, IQ Air MultiGas, Austin Air Bedroom Machine, and Oransi EJ120, which are arguably the best on the consumer market as they use medical grade HEPA filters combined with commercial grade motors, are built in North America (minus the IQ Air, which is Switzerland), and generally use multiple pounds of (and up to as much as 50 pounds of) carbon, making them appropriate for severely polluted air and for those with extreme chemical sensitivities. Tests of the other Molekule products have demonstrated very poor performance against PM2.5, (which the Pro improves upon, although it is far from being best in class), inconsistent-to-poor performance against VOCs/chemicals of concern, and its performance against infectious airborne agents is largely unproven. Alternatively, the purifiers it is priced similar to have outstanding performance against PM2.5, filter airborne viruses extremely well (yes, medical grade HEPA filters are extremely effective against viruses), and are effective against VOCs. Molekule units have a very attractive design, and the company has outstanding marketing, but the bottom line is that you are paying a ton for performance that is matched or exceeded by a unit costing a fraction of the price (such as affordable units from Coway, Levoit, or Winix), and it has nowhere near the performance of the alternatives it is priced similarly to.
I like these videos about other types of tech. While i love phones and computer gadgets, there are soo many other electronics that improve our lives, but aren’t covered because they’re not the typical tech items. And since theyre not what the average tech audience really cares to see, big channels are even less likely to cover them because lack of views/money. All that to say, thanks for this review. Even if sponsored i enjoyed the content 👍
I was sadden to see that your offering was more in line with regurgitation of Molekules PR points and lacking the only issue that matters - Is the PECO technology effective? This could have easily been handled by renting a PID meter or purchasing on of the better VOC MOS sensor available (~$100 USD - Temtop M10). I urge you add an addendum to your review with some real data that would be useful for those looking for VOC reduction. FYI - The new Pro is effective for PM and I commend Molekule but that's got absolutely nothing to do with their PECO. Reducing PM is easy and cheap - much cheaper than the Pro. What's difficult and has not been demonstrated (in real living spaces) is VOC reduction. My data is not positive for the Molekule standard or the Pro. Just looking for my experiements to be replicated. If you are really interested in provided useful info to the Consumer you should collect data on the only thing that matters - Does the PECO tech actually work.
Molekule came out as worst among the air purifiers on the Wirecutter NY Times roundup. You can buy way more effective air purifiers for $90 to $250. Coway, Blueair, Levoit Core 300 perform way better. I got a Molekule as a present. Sold it and could but 3 decent air purifiers with the sale, and still have spare change.
Ps it would be great if you made an actual performance comparison with better performing purifiers at a fraction of the cost like Coway, Levoit, Blueair. A review with the same standards you use to compare and review MacBooks etc.
I am sorry for my feedback (nothing personally) but your review is very poor. It is clear that you don’t have experience in this category of products and the science behind them and basically anything related to air quality and indoor air. You presented the product but you have made many mistakes with the terminology commonly used for this kind of products. I think your Apple product reviews and technology are the best but not for air purifiers.
The "killing viruses and bacteria" thing is a red herring. If you want to spend less on your air filters check out Smart Air. Short story: all these filters work about the same and then try to up-sell you on distracting features. They're a B-Corp and publish all of their efficacy data online; if you want an even lower cost option, they'll send you a kit to build your own. They're trying to democratize clean air.
Thanks. We're mostly sticking to tech but might incorporate a few different things that can really help people's lives. I've developed allergies the last few years and it's absolutely horrible in the spring time and changing out my home's central air filters with the best ones didn't help, but the original Molekule did (I talk about the details in my original review). This new one really improves on some of the downsides of the original.
Hey max tech...really awsome video...i loved it...i m waiting ur ipad air 4 review...plz make it quick...nd compare it with samsung s7...nd love from india...♥️
by the way when you make a video on which ipad gaming is best in late 2020, also talk about which ipad could be best for minecraft becuase you may need higher preformance depending on how you play it. Also blowing up a lot of tnt may need a powerful ipad becuase it can lag your game.
Typical American Philosophy... 1:Pollute the Air then make money cleaning it. 2: Gain weight on McDonald's then make money on weight loss. Blah Blah Blah....
lol. I don't have much issues with the pollutants here, yes there are some in the pacific northwest but its nothing like the super cramped cities like LA or NYC. For me its allergies and smoke and this thing really helps. As for weight, I've lost 52 LBS without any special weight loss stuff :)
@@carlesc5497 Actually I'm currently in Africa , I was in santa Clara last year and the Air from 🔥 was bad... Have you ever wondered why they are no wild fires in Africa....but Eve cold Siberia has fires..
Now I feel like an idiot for having the obviously inferior original Molekule. There should be some sort of an allowance for original buyers to get a big, big discount on the new models.
It's really not worth the money if your goal is cleaner air IMO. This thing is priced as high as the AirPura 600 and AllerAir Pro 6, which are two units that are extremely effective against PM2.5 and are also very effective against VOCs (and are arguably the best units on the market with respect to performance).
The PRO looks way too big and cumbersome to have around the house, it seems like something that would stand out. I've been debating on purifiers and have bene leaning towards another vendor for dual purpose functionality and cleaning. Plus Molekule is higher priced and doesn't offer that functionality. At such a price point and filter cost, I'm really debating but don't think I would do the PRO due to the sheer mass and size, I feel it would be the sore thumb that everyone would ask "what's that thing" when they come to the house. the original was a little more sleek and something that doesn't seem like such a stand-out eye sore even though its bigger and can move more air. I don't think I woudl do the PRO at all seeing it in your video.
I've wondered if purification through oxidation increases residual oxides in the home environment, particularly hydroxy radicals and super-oxide ions that are used in photocatalytic process.
I own the exact model and it is absolutely worthless. Cook a steak at home and leave the house for a few hours and you will still smell the odor. Spray paint just a LITTLE bit and leave for 10 hours and come back to that horrible paint smell. God forbid if you like bacon. Owned for three months and regret it intensely.

It seems to offer any sort of comfort we can possibly receive from technology. It may replace most of the competitors for its design.
