I seem to recall this song being used in the background when they would do a rundown of the day’s injuries/news/notes, and occasionally for a 30-second highlight of a 40-point blowout.
1994 Season Confirmed Week 2: PIT/CLE Week 11: ATL/NO (Saints win the shootout at the big easy) Week 12: NYJ/MIN (Jets last trip to Minnesota until 2006) Weeks 1 and 14 I don't have confirmation on, but I'm guessing unused
1995 Season (Confirmed) Week 8-HOU/CHI Week 9-SEA/ARI (Will this game ever end?) Week 12-DET/CHI Week 13-CIN/JAX Week 14-IND/CAR Week 15-BUF/STL (Bills last trip to St. Louis until 2008)
For ppl that don't recognize these later tracks, keep in mind most weeks they only had 10-12 games played during the day, 12 on the high end. Most weeks 4-6 teams had a buy, there's a sunday night game not played, monday night game not played, and i don't think they did highlights on the Thursday night game if it was around back then, but I could be wrong. But sounds to me like they only had 10-11 games to do highlights for most weeks.
1996 Season Confirmed Week 1-ARI/IND (Cardinals wouldn't play Indy again until 2005) Week 11-BAL/JAX (Turning point for the Jaguars?) Week 13-NO/TB Week 5 is unconfirmed, but I'm guessing unused.
I feel like there were some 1991-93 era games covered with this music too, but no highlight summaries immediately stand out. Maybe like a Bucs-Eagles game?
Yes! That's the BEST one! I can't find it anywhere! There was a '96 game (NFL Primetime highlight) between the Dolphins and Jets where that song was used... It's not any of these, though. It's that one that's a little faster, right?
This sounds like it could be used for traffic reports during the morning/afternoon drive...
“Inside the Numbers! Brought to you by...VISA. It’s everywhere you want to be.”

Yeah if this song was playing you knew it was a drubbing.
This theme would be great for a action/crime fighting/super vehicle TV show.
I remember hearing this song EVERYWHERE. We had Texas High School football highlights every Saturday morning in the 90s, and this is what I heard.

Another rarity. I vaguely remember this one from Favre's first time with the Packers.
The word vaguely is so cringe..
This was used a lot when Robin Roberts was on NFL Primetime.
1996 Ravens at Jaguars. Testaverde three touchdowns, Ravens lead 27-16. Brunell two touchdowns (one rushing), Testaverde strip sacked. Jaguars win 30-27
this is used for week 17 1999 Pittsburgh vs Tennessee

This sounds like a song used for character selections in video games
This was always a Giants/Eagles game late in the season
I'm surprised they dont play this. It's catchy.
I'm getting Mega Man 7 Freeze Man vibes from it..
This theme was for games that were completely one-sided till the end
This sounds like a high scoring affair between Seattle and Houston at the Astrodome in the 90s
I only have three uses for this song. Does anyone have anymore?
I have for 1995:
Week 12-DET/CHI
Week 15-BUF/STL
1996:
Week 11-BAL/JAX
1994
Week 2-PIT/CLE
1996
Week 1-ARI/IND (?)
Week 13-NO/TB (Believe it was discontinued after this)

1994 NYJ/MIN (Week 12)
Early 1990s highlight song.
Michael Daly *1994-1996 actually. But definitely stopped being used after 1996.*
Okay. Thanks.
Mark, can you find the song used for Buffalo Bills highlights 1994-7, notably the Week 4 comeback against the Colts in 1997?
Yes! That's the BEST one! I can't find it anywhere!

Salastine Di'Anni
Yes - it has a lot of horn in the bridge - in Week Three on NFL Primetime in 1996 it was used on the Dolphins-Jets game.
+Michael Daly The Buffalo Bills music is absolutely #2 from this playlist of songs.
Mark Luhn - indeed. Thank you.
AFC East standings as of week 12
Power Cutter is the song name
