Just shows how unique Daisy Berkowitz's style was. The whole album shows it, but this song really shows off his weird sludgy, punk like style with the well placed, slightly off-timed harmonics and pitch harmonics and notes high up the neck and the very different rhythm solo, and of course the other songs on the album showcase his unique ear and talent.. that is what built the Marilyn Manson sound from the ground up imo (also the chunky, sinister bass, and the percussive almost tribal/druid like evil sounding drums). Even when Manson brought on John 5 and Zim Zum, they somehow kept that weird guitar playing style alive for the first 4 records (not counting Smells like Children and the other singles and whatnot that came out). Yeah John 5 was playing on Golden Age of Grotesque, but the weird strange feel to the sound was not there (John 5 is extremely talented and I love his music, and I don't blame him for the weakness and boring feel of the album at all), and all the Manson records from 03 and forward all had just like a long, boring, factory factor to them... But anyway, this is an amazing cover and an amazing guitar. It looks like the John 5 signature telecaster from the early 2000s almost, minus the three humbuckers and a different headstock.
Daisy’s guitar style with all the harmonics and scratches and extra little shine and twinkle all over the place was the audio equivalent of Manson’s stars and lollipops imagery that was scrawled all over that first album. These two were such a great duo, it really sucks that they fell out so hard.
Hi, thanks for sharing your videos, you really do Manson's songs justice. I hope you will find time to do some more. Do you like Nine Inch Nails per chance ? "Last" from the Broken EP with your sound would be rad.
Thank you for watching and your comment. I have been a little busy but will definitely do more. I do like NIN. That song has some good guitars. I think I might do that. I've been thinking about other bands/artists I could cover but I couldn't think of any other but I think NIN is a good band to cover.
Great job! The best version I have heard unless it was Daisy, Zim Zum and even the great John5 did a really poor job with this, Daisy on the other hand played it perfectly live too
Lots of cool techniques this beginner has never seen lol. Do you stay masked because you are a famous pro guitarist? ☺️ I'm still trying to figure out guitars and so far you have some unique looking ones. You seem to like fender/squire, because of necks I assume. This is the first time I've seen 3 Wide Range Humbuckers . You must know something 🤔
The reason behind the mask is more of a childish one lol I have always liked masks since I was a kid. Michael Myers, Kane, slipknot, V for Vendetta, etc. I loved the mystery behind it. Keeps it interesting for me. As far as guitars, I preferably like Fender/Squier Telecasters in particular. I love the neck and I love the heavy weight of them. Lighter Telecasters feel kind of odd to me. As far as this particular Tele goes, I'm not a fan of the 3 humbuckers on this guitar. Only reason I have this one is because it has a whammy bar and Telecasters with a whammy are hard to find, let alone in a finish I'd like. For the most part I don't use this one unless I'm learning some songs that include a whammy. Once I customize one of my other Teles with a whammy I will probably part ways with this one but we shall see.
@@Olaryz You're right, this is the first I've seen a tele with whammy as well! Turns out you have the J5 signatures 🥰 For a moment I had to wonder if you were John 5 in disguise 😎 Update: I just saw a new update of a John Petrucci Telecaster with Floyd Rose Also you've gotten me interested in telecasters, and the J5 series. I need to try out the necks first though as I've never handled a fender.... I might be interested in the one you have, what don't you like about them? Are they the reissues or original/lollar type?
Floyd Rose Telecasters are even harder to find. I have a cheaper style Tele that I'm going to modify to add a floyd rose. Just need to get the tool to carve out the cavity. I personally like the Squier versions better than the one I'm playing in the video. But I do like the Fender J5 bigsby custom shop the best out of all of them. What I do like about the one in the video is the neck. It has a thick neck, heavy weight. Although I don't think it sounds as good as the Squier but that's my opinion. I feel like the Squiers have more gain. Which kind of suck because these pickupa look really good and they say Fender on them and if you're looking to switch out the pickups, you're giving that up. One thing I really do love is that you can go crazy on the whammy and it still stays in tube. I used to own 2 of these and had no issue with them staying in tune.
What I love about Steve's playing is his simplicity and how effective all the little bits are that he brought to his style. He rates up there for me as one of my top 3 guitarists of all time. Reminds me a lot of Stevie Stevens from Billy Idol.
I would like to congratulate you on your amazing work, you remind me a lot of John 5. We would be immensely happy if you made the tabs available. It's hard to find something complete on the internet, if I did it would be amazing. A hug, from Brazil.
Hello . Please make a karaoke version of MM Cyclops, Sweet Tooth, My Monkey, Prelude (The Family Trip) from the first studio album Portrait of an American Family
I've heard this song a thousand times and it never stood out to me as a particularly complicated song to play just from listening to it, but now that's I've watched you play it, it's way more technical to pull off than I imagined. Wow, nice job.
Daisy was terrific creating these arrangements but Zim Zum had his touch on before the first chorous and John 5 was just perfect, my top 3 MM with Hate Anthem and The Fight Song
Hey there, sorry for the late reply. I never got notifications for quite a few of my video comments. To answer your question, yes there are 2 different tracks. I listen to the album and listen to see how many guitars are in there. I will record a rough version to see what other guitars I need to add in there and record so the sounds doesn't sound too flat.
you killed it! Daisy would be proud. RIP
Rip Scott 🙏🏾

Zim Zum created good riffs
Zim Zum write mechanical animals riff and lots solo on the MA album
Thanks for writing this
This is amazing ❤
@@TrueBeliever04 Well some good songs co written on MA, but he was horrible live
You highlight every reason I think this song is so underrated. The embellishments MAKE the song.
Just fantastic. Thank you for the upload.
Superb tone! Need that sound in my guitar modellers ❤ Congrats
Very nice! Sounds great! RIP Daisy🤘🔥🤘
This is what im talking about!!
perfect! 10/10!
Love it!
Amazing
You nailed it dude
I absolutely love the way you play it is so relaxing to watch

Thats a sick ass guitar dude
Impressive. You nailed it perfectly. But I need to ask you, how do I get that sound? Wich is the combination of amp and pedals you are using?
That's excellent !
greetings from poland.
Brilliant cover. Is that J5? ❤

Crazy Telli!

That's Awesome, it sounds better, than original! Please, cover I Don't Like The Drugs
That's awesome but I don't understand why John 5 is hiding behind a mask and covering his face? 😜
What a great and underrated guitarist Daisy Berkowitz was. You nailed It!
Dude the guy in this video is great too. He totally nailed it and he also kills it in his other videos too. I'm impressed with them both.

I have watched this like 20 times in the past month. Any chance you'd share the raw tracks? Also...The dance is one of the best parts.
You hit all nuisances Daisy hit... I LOVE IT!!! Scott was kind of the original Wes Borland...
Круто играешь! И движения супер! Привет из России!!! Мэрлин Мэнсон красава!
Rip Scott Putesky. Great playing
Best cover I’ve seen so far. That was mathematically perfect and fluid as could be! Fine job! Nice sound!! You really made it look easy.
Amazing !!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼I’m going to watch this everyday !
I love your covers dude and the energy you give off. Manson is a vibe.
Fantastic cover absolutely awesome 👏

Love watching you play! As a beginner guitarist I’m curious, when you play the low notes are you muting your highs with your pinky/side of your hand?
❤🙌
Wwooooowwwwww
