!!!PLEASE!!! refrain from prejudicial comments and watch the FULL VERSION where the kitten received careful, patient, and successful treatment from my experienced and LOVING vets who were able to calm the kitty and took care of him for a few days at the clinic.
They knew the toweling technique and they sure are aware of anesthesia or using sedatives that were not considered in this case of a weak kitten who already had an open wound. He got strong antibiotics during the following week to prevent further infection.

For those who suggest sedation or anesthesia:
1) Kitten was frightened, so the anesthetic risk was higher. Sedation was also not considered or required in this case by the veterinarians.

Still not an acceptable way to handle a kitten. I am a Veterinary Technician. In my 40 yrs I have NEVER resorted to gloves.
The Technicians in this case need to learn better options.

You don’t know if the cat trusts anymore or not. Some animals don’t like vets already plus adding being hurt, help down and scared. They are being very gentle with him
Yeah as a vet you have no choice but to be patient and one thing that I do to calm down dogs and cats it works half of the time is gently rubbing their eyebrow area or their eyelid it relaxes them
I guess people don’t realize what a tough job they have trying to examine and treat animals that are injured, stressed and in pain. Thank you for all you do.

Yeah definitely the vet definitely has some willpower not to throw the damn cat across the room. The cat could have killed itself by causing cardiac arrest, the cat may have been scared but was definitely overreacting. Sedation would have been the best bet instead of trying to pin down a visibly terrified kitten that thinks the vets are trying to harm it. None the less, I couldn’t do this job. I would have thrown the cat.

Vets can be not that amazing. I've seen lots of vets who could care less about the wellbeing of your pet and are just in it to fleece the owner of as much money as possible. They will use your love for your pet against you to do unnecessary procedures and sell you medicine that doesn't work. Not everyone is this way ofc, but be careful.

I have never had a cat but felt the kitten's distress. I think the cat biting the glove was a way of releasing his anxiety of the physical pain and discomfort, just like women who are in labour scream while squeezing their partner's hands. Kitty, get well soon

I got a call from my vet... my 17 lbs cat Herman was in to get stitches removed... I had to run over from work cause he got out of a pen and had 4 members of staff scrambling like a tigar got loose...
Herm was absolutely furious... they let him have the space and called me.. the minute I walked in I could hear Herm growling and destroying a back room....
Seeing me he stopped the mayhem and started telling me.. Loudly.. how His day was going.....
The staff looked like They had been in battle clothes, hair messed up... sweaty...
the leather gear they had didn't really help...
One detail about the whole thing is Herman didn't have claws...
whoever had him before declawed him.... They had a kind of hall of fame wall for epic pets...

They can be dangerous when pissed. My cat bir t me on the hand, and the next day my hand looked like a foot. I was in the hospital for five days. I opened the door, and she thought I was leaving her. It didn’t help that she’s a Maine Coon with huge teeth.
These moments I wish we had much better communication with animals so we could tell them that it will be ok and that we only want to help you get better. 🥺 Poor kitty, hope it makes a full recovery.

I feel like much with humans some animals in pain just become assholes, their illogical and angry to avoid the pain. Where as others are calm, patient, and understanding just depends on the animal
Unfortunately, sometimes we don't even have proper communication with human patients. Some go nuts due to stress, some aren't bright generally.

It was so weird realizing that the cat seemed to, on some level, understand that they were trying to help. It could have gone after the tech who was touching it's ear and face, but it didn't. It was like it was so panicked that it just needed to bite SOMETHING to feel in control of the situation and once it did things were more bearable. Also an interesting analogy for why bullies do what they do.

That fight and feistiness is what makes that kitten a survivor. I adopted a fostered rescue senior cat of about 8 yrs old, she has that feistiness and fight in her too which is what kept her alive on the streets all these years. She is a true survivor. She now lives a pampered life but she will never lose her feistiness and I I'm ok with that because that's what makes her who she is and I love her as is. I hope this kitty is ok and finds a loving home.
The newest baby in the house, link, had his fucking favorite person in the world the ragdoll Bandit who was his only friend who he looked up to as a mother, die, and he refused to eat then got covid. But after a few days of medication, he ripped out his own feeding tube. Now he is eating and playing. He is a strong little kitty. And I know he is gonna make it.
It's funny, I adopted a cat about 6months ago who was said to be about 10yrs old and he is extremely skittish/afraid but he also gets babied, he deserves it

@@fluffygargos7066 from my experience I'll just ask that you be patient, there's a lot of trust issues to overcome. Don't force interaction but talk to your cat, buy toys and play with you kitty and that will strengthen your bond. When your cat is at rest and relaxed and if your cat will allow you to pet then do so but don't try to pick up. Eventually kitty will start to trust you. I have had mine for a year and a month and still a work in progress but everyday is better.

I adopted an FIV+ cat a few years ago. Although I had some info on her background (open wound repaired, fear and mistrust, etc) I came to discover other undiagnosed ailments (no disrespect to the wonderful people who initially saved her life), but she had spinal arthritis, was deaf, and was losing vision in her left eye. I had her bed, litter box, food and water bowls all set up on the first floor of my home to make it easier for to navigate life. In time, she began to crawl up on my lap using the recliner as an elevator and she would curl up on my shoulder to sleep ❤. If an animal is mistrustful, sad, etc. There’s a reason for it. The little cat is upset but rest assured after getting the necessary medical attention and having an opportunity to enjoy nutrition and safety, things will be very different 😊

@@terriseaton3049t’s up to you to know if your car has a history or is bad under anesthetics. They specifically ask you and if they don’t you’re suppose to tell them. Same as when you go to the hospital.
If you knew your cat had a history you shouldn’t have done the surgery, the choice is yours, the vet didn’t make you do it.

This is exactly how my cat acts when left on her own at the vet (we left her overnight the first and last time. Not doing that ever again). The vet has made an exception to their policy coz our cat is a whole different cat when I hold her. While in my arms, she is more calm and trusting and lets the vet do what ever needs to be, no need for safety cloves, cages or plastic domes.... In my arms she is safe to handle.
I was just watching this when I found my cat staring at me from the chair next to me 😹🙀
