RAWAT FORT......THE FORGOTTEN PAST|TRAVEL DOCUMENTARY|PAKISTAN IN FOCUS

Among the many forgotten relics spread across the dry and arid land of Potohar Plateau is the Rawat Fort, which lies about 18km east of Rawalpindi(Punjab,Pakistan) on G.T. Road at the southeast corner of the Islamabad capital territory, a few kilometers south of the Sawan river. It was likely constructed in the Sultanate period in the early 15th century, possibly as a serai (caravanserai), or rest house and inn for travelers.
