What a beautiful vintage toyline 😍 The Well of Souls playset and the Truck are definite stand outs. The easter egg of star wars figs in the well of souls is brilliant, which i didnt know about. Great fun video Dave, thanks for sharing these with us 😊👍❤
Cheers Matt! 🤘 I believe there's a similar easter egg in the film too!! Need to look that up 👍 Love the truck and play set, would be awesome to have a loose display of those!!!
Wow! What a great episode of VTR! Thank you so much for opening these up and letting share this experience. You must have been bricking it! 🤣🤣 Awesome Dave. I really "dig" this episode! 🤣
What an exquisite Indy collection Dave! I really appreciate you unboxing those playsets and the truck because, current prices as they are, this just might be the closest I'll get to them. I never knew about the Star Wars motifs in the hieroglyphics of the Well of the Souls playset. To have all of those figures graded including the mailaway Belloq is incredible mate😮
Cheers Scott!! 🤘 I was very lucky to find these several years ago and went for it - am glad cause as you say prices are mad now!! The Star Wars easter egg is cool and I think there's a similar easter egg in the film too! 👍
Such an in depth look at the retro Kenner waves Dave. Beautiful toys to have in your collection and so well presented for us to enjoy. Thank you for sharing.
Dude!!!!! Am I going crazy or is this the first time these have ever been opened? Or first time you’ve ever opened them??? Either way WOW WOW WOW!! Amazing items, completely in awe of your Indy collection, and the integrated movie clips worked perfectly and so appropriately used 😂😂👏👏 Another VTR classic indeed 👍
First time I've opened the boxes for sure. They weren't sealed so probably have been looked at sometime during the past 40 years, but not sure. I'm glad to have finally peeked inside 👍 Only problem now, is that I'd love to have a loose display LOL Cheers Luke! Had fun revisiting the film and picking out clips 😎
This is the one i was waiting on. Absolutely gorgeous collection Dave. Those boxes are so crisp. I had my eyes half covered when you were taking out the contents, hope you got eveything back in the way it came out. Stunning tenfold. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks Mark!!🤘Glad you enjoyed this one, I certainly enjoyed revisiting this line and finally taking a peek inside those boxes. Everything is back in box all safe and sound now 👍
That felt hat accessory for the 12" Indy might be the funniest thing I'll see all week. Thanks for a great look at this toyline Dave! Us: "Are you gonna open these or leave them in the box?" VTR Dave: "Both. And I'm gonna wear snooker referee gloves like a pro". Amazing. My MIB self was panicking a bit throughout the video, but we were in safe hands. No anxiety was necessary 😅
Can imagine someone at Kenner wanted to raise the red flag while everyone else was congratulating each other on a great job done! 🤣 I don't mind opening stuff, I won't open sealed bags but like restorations I'm not afraid to pull these things apart in a respectful way of course!! ps always wanted to play snooker 😎
This was really interesting to watch I have never possessed any of these toys. The carded figures and boxes look great. I love the truck box pics showing Indy catching up with the truck on the horse, jumping on and being on the front, just like in the movie! Someones taken some time with those pics!
It's a shame they're stuck in all those boxes - would love to have space to display them all. They really captured the film in this line - as you say from the art work to the play sets of key scenes 👍
Great video. Love the condition of your playsets. Allows you to open them up like it's Christmas or your birthday and you first got them. I loved this line as a kid. I remember getting them at the mall in 1984. They were on shelves for a long time. But Indie was the essential figure. Without him there was no need to buy any others.
Thanks! It was like opening them for the first time, cause it was the first time🤘 I never saw this line back in the day, in fact, I don't think it was sold in the UK. Must have been great to have played with this stuff when you were a kid. Still don't understand why it didn't succeed 👍
Wow, Dave! What a beautiful collection and you display it gorgeously. You are a brave man to open up those boxes though. And I got a kick out of the fact that you put on gloves to do so. Good call! What a fun set of toys from back in the day. And I legitimately was laughing out loud and hard with that 12 inch Indy Fedora. You cracked me up! Thanks for the wonderful, comprehensive look at your beautiful Indiana Jones collection.
Ah cheers Paul! 👍 Just like yourself, I like to display things as well as possible! but they've been like that for years, so it was definitely time to open them up and at least peek 😎 And what were they thinking with that 12 inch Fedora LOL had to be a Friday afternoon design job 🤣
Very cool collection! I remember as a kid the first time I watch Raiders of the Lost Ark was at my Dad's IBM office for family movie night. The melting face part scared the crap out of me! Great video and great memories... :)
Wow! What a collection and opening the boxes to show us was amazing! I’m not a massive fan of the films but love the toy line! This was a great video. Thank you for sharing 👍
Amazing openings Dave!! I can't quite believe that not only have you got all those on card and boxed but how pristine everything is! I hope Hasbro re make that truck for the retro line, I'd really love that in my collection and even the 2008 truck is getting quite expensive! Thanks for the video Dave!
Thanks Kev! 🤘 I was very lucky to find these several years ago and even then, were mostly mostly wrapped in acrylic. They've never been out since. Can't believe current prices! It would be good to see some remakes as the truck is very delicate! 👍
AMAZING!!! Just about to pickup a lot of this vintage Indy line in a collection purchase. It’s going to be hard to let these pieces go!!! Awesome overview 👍🏽
Thanks Gary! 👍 Wow, you're picking up some vintage Indy but you're not keeping??... if you do let it go and some of it's loose I could be interested - would love to have a small loose display 😎
@@VintageToyRush the plan is to let the Indy stuff go. It’s timely with the new release and prices seem to be high. I think most is unopened boxes, but we’ll soon find out. Thursday is deal day!!!
What a great video Dave. Great to see these toys in the original sealed bags. And those carded amazing figures. Wow. You have an amazing collection mate. Got a sneak peak of your Gi Joe collection as well. Awesome. Would love to see a collection tour mate.😊
Great, widespan collection of Indiana Raiders Lost Ark figure classics that you have! Vehicles too. Smart to wear the gloves. I only have a modern reissue retro Indiana carded, but really like the classic style of these figures. Great job collecting these on the original releases. They look like they're in great condition on the cards too and a nice range. The new Indiana Dial movie was interesting and the final act was good. Thanks for the cool video, Dave.
The only place I remember seeing these was at a Sears in 1984. I vividly recall the year, because that was the year that I got the Rattler. The only figures there were the German Mechanic, Indy in disguise, and Toht. No one ever seemed to want them apparently.
Great to hear of your recollections - the Rattler must have been magic as a kid. I believe part of the problem with Indy figures back then was that Indy himself sold out quickly, therefore no one wanted the rest without him!!! 👍
That's an amazing collection and a great video. Although, now you've opened the boxes, it's a shame that you don't just display the play sets outside of their packaging. They're beautiful little sets that deserve being seen. Each to their own I suppose. Anyway, great video. I've collected the retro wave. I only hope that Hasbro decide to continue that line for another 5 figures or so. 🤠
It would be lovely to display them all but as items are still in sealed baggies, they're all back safely in the boxes. Having said that, I've recently had the opportunity to acquire loose examples of some of the sets, so a display is in the future!! Yeah, agree it would be good to see more retro figures 👍 Cheers! 🤘
Just watching now, but had to pause and comment because I'm laughing so much at the gratuitous shot of the Cairo Swordsman's underpants. You really should've given us a warning before flashing us his packet 😂
Awesome video VTR, very well executed and very informative. I must admit I started to sweat when you were opening those boxes. What was going on with the 12" Indy hat? Lol......absolutely awful, lol.
Cheers Stu! 🤘 I was sweating too but then again it was blinking hot that day and I was in the room with windows and doors closed and lights beaming! The things we do for YT!! 😎 and yeah, that stupid hat!! 🤣
When I first started collecting I never liked price tags - thought they ruined the pristine look I was after. But now, have learnt my error and love them. A carded April sounds lovely - have heard of Kay-B toys (we never had them here) and think a couple of items in the collection have a Kay-B sticker. Nice 👍
Thanks! 👍 I never saw this line back in the day, I don't believe it was sold in the UK. Even now, it's pretty hard to find. There used to be the odd item for sale at toy fairs, but haven't seen Indy in the wild for a while! 🤘
I remember my friend had this and the Gestapo agent. They usually wound up being someone else in other stories, like '89 Batman. Toht was Alexander Knox. 😂
The case came with the horse when I purchased it. But coincidentally I saw a post from Iain's Display Accessories (on Facebook) just the other day saying they're making cases including one for the horse. Hope that helps 👍
Dave this has to be one of your best videos. NO ONE on UA-cam has a vintage unboxing quiet like this. WOW. Congrats!
Cheers Mike!! 🤘 It was great to finally have a peek inside those boxes LOL 👍

Wonderful video and collection. It sure is different getting to look at these rare items getting unboxed
Thanks!!! 👍 It was about time to actually have a peek inside - they've been sat there on the shelves for way too long 🤘
You brave man, totally understand the white gloves, was waiting for a magical trick. Seriously I would not have the nerve. Great video buddy👍👍👍

I love the detail of the Star Wars characters on the cover of the Ark! Thats a great little easter egg for the keen-eyed!

Those Indiana Jones Star Wars reference symbols on the wall set display is a cool nod to Leia, C3PO and R2D2. Thanks for pointing those out.
